Moniker crawled over to a boulder and sat himself up against it. He pulled out the large stone spike that was in his gut. Then he heard a beep.
[Emergency Quest Complete]
[Recieving Rewards]: Aether Boost, 1 Mystery Box, 50 strength, 50 maximum health, 100 agility.
Moniker felt relieved. A box had appeared next to where Moniker sat. He heard another beep.
[Warining!]
[Race: ??? Is causing status to evolving. Stats will be modified appropriately.]
The window in front of Moniker starting shining bright as the sun. Moniker had a panicked look on his face. Then the shinning light dimmed down. The once blue status screen was now golden with a silver border and lettering.

Moniker didn't know what most of it meant. He only knew that he was getting stronger and that he wanted to get back to Scarlet.
"Scar...let..."
He sat there in agony for a moment and then looked over at the mystery box. It was a white box with a black bow on top. He touches the black bow.
"...Soft."
The box began to emit a soft white glow. Moniker got another message.
[Race: ??? Is causing the mystery box to evolve.]
The blood from Moniker began to puddle on the ground. The box stopped glowing. The box was now golden with a silver bow on top as if wrapped specifically for him. The bow was even softer now. Moniker was getting more and more tired as if to fall into an eternal slumber.
[Mystery Box has evolved into Mystery Gift.]
Moniker took the bow and top of the box off. He saw a vial of white liquid in front of him.
[Congratulations!]
[You have received a Blessed Health Potion S+. Drink it to recover from any injuries, diseases, or curses.]
"...Drink..."
He then checked his status.
[Moniker]

MP: 0
SP: Limitless
Moniker sat still for a few moments. He took the cap off of the vial. Then he put the vial to his lips and started drinking the potion.

This work will be shorter overall, partly because its born out of a sudden passion, partly because I thought I'd try my hand at a more comfortable story than the grim darkness of the 41st Millenium (psychotic murderer and fraudulent holyman included). Depending on how this does and my time allows more adventures may be coming.While I cannot claim the places, concepts and gods etc. mentioned within as my own, the story and all characters flowed from my own fingers.
