《Danimal》Chapter 28: Trust

Dahn releases the door handle and draws two conclusions; the first is that the door and the room is made of a material that serves to nullify the Essence. The other is that there is an artifact capable of doing that.
What Dahn does not know is there is a third possibility, that some race or person is capable of this.
Dahn thinks for a while, trying to figure out how to avoid being affected by this anomaly, releases his Essence, and concentrates it in his right hand, and hits the door causing it to break and go inside the room.
Dahn: "Eva?"
Eva: "I am here."
Dhan: "What do you know about objects or materials capable of nullifying the essence."
Eva: "I don't have any data about it" "But according to my data, there can be some race or people able to accomplish this."
The door enters with a single shot at the end of the room, and at that moment, it feels like a vast emptiness is present.
Morl: "Impressive strength of our guest, don't you think?" - With his tongue out while licking Shanna in the cheek.
Dahn can finally see what is behind the door; he can observe and hear Morl that due to his physical characteristics comes from the Khulzan race. The last time Dahn faced one, he had several problems due to the poison they possessed.
Seeing that the tongue of Morl is creeping on Shanna, Dahn loses control.
The Essence released by Dahn is so strong that several of the crew begin to lose consciousness; others feel weak.
When Morl feels Dahn's murderous aura, he also releases his Essence. He increases the area of his poison, whose only function is to nullify the Essence as long as the level of the Essence of his enemy is lower.

Dahn: "The last time I fought a Khulzan was a bit frustrating" "I will not make that mistake again."
Morl: "Good, then you know we are not the same" - His smile is more evil and sadistic.
If this fight had happened a few years ago, the result would have been different; Dahn remembers everything he has learned and is entirely sure of his victory.
Dhan sends a nanorobot to Shanna to make sure she is still alive, because of Morl power Dahn could not measure Shanna's Essence.
Eva: "Dahn" "I'm sorry, Shanna has been dead for two days."
While hearing those words, the environment gets wrapped in darkness, the walls around Dahn begin to break, Dahn who has his head looking at the floor looks up with tears in his eyes and looks directly at Morl.
The crew in the ship falls to the ground, unconscious and some dead.
Dahn: "Who is responsible for her death" "I do not know why I ask that to you" "Maybe I am clinging to the hope that something good will come out of your mouth" "Who captured her?"
Morl: "You thin..."
Dahn, in the blink of an eye, positions himself behind Morl and covers his mouth with his left hand.
Dahn: "All I need from you is the name of the one who captured her" "But I also know your race is not to be trusted." "So, I am done wasting my time."
Dahn, with his right-hand, goes through Morl's back, breaking his spine, lungs, and in turn, takes out Morl's heart.
He approaches Shanna and releases her, with tears on his face carries her on his arms and teleports to the clinic.
Dahn: "Eva, find out everything you can about what happened to her and this ship" - The anger and sadness in his voice is heartbreaking.

Karin manages to see Dahn leaving the clinic, and without knowing what just happened, she approaches him. By doing so, her body stops automatically and falls to the floor, unconscious.
Dahn completely ignores Karin's body; right now, he only feels pain and anger and decides to take a flight away from the capital without direction or destination.
Several hours go by, Karin regains consciousness, even though she is dizzy she stands up and asks Eva if she knows what happened since she doesn't remember very well what happened, Eva despite being present doesn't answer. - She is not allowed to speak to her.
Karin begins to regain memory of what happened, looks up at the sky and realizes the ship is still there, smiles, looks around, and manages to get to the command post, goes in and tries to establish communication with the ship.
Karin sits down in a chair in front of a computer and begins to access the ship's system; her typing speed is incredible; it is obvious Karin has good knowledge about hacking. In a few minutes, she already has access to the entire ship, which Eva uses to get information as well.
While Karin is looking for information, she realizes that Eva doesn't have a high level of hacking, which she uses to her advantage.
Karin allows Eva to do what she wants but at the same time, keeps Eva at a distance, so she doesn't know what she is looking for.
Karin: 'Shit' 'I didn't think the guy was so strong' 'It doesn't matter, the plan is the same' 'If I'm not mistaken here is my next instruction' - Get a folder named "Love."
Karin: 'Let's see' 'WHAT' - Her face tights up a little bit.
Karin opens the folder and reads to herself - 'Subject can be easily manipulated with love' 'Make him trust you, and you will not have any problem' 'Do everything you can to gain his trust' 'IMPORTANT: if the subject doesn't trust you, RUN' 'Essence of the subject has no limits so far.'
Karin reads everything in detail and then creates a virus, so it erases the mission files and any trace of her. She turns to help Eva in finding information about who they are and what they were doing here - Karin knows the only purpose of them going there was to give her more information about her mission.
Karin manages to get what she was looking for without any problem. She tells Eva that she has been able to collect information that Dahn may consider vital for him.
Before finishing hacking, Karin leaves an encrypted message for the Red Star Alliance - 'lok kdeh ksdje jkksd'
Eva: "Dahn" "I think Karin is not trustworthy."

The Court of Souls?
Author's Comment: I was asked about reading my work on other sites. The answer is simple: Currently I am not active in any other networks than royalroadl.com. Only here, I correct mistakes and errors. If you read it anywhere else and have to pay for it, or have to deal with an annoying amount of advertisement, You Are Being Betrayed. You would do good if you make other people in that network aware of it. This is a free project of mine for the purpose of having fun. And if people try to make money with it you shouldn't bother visiting their website. The only one whom I actually allowed to have my work on his website is Armaell who invested the time to compile them into pdf. (http://armaell-library.net/author/andur) ——————————————————————————————— Reading Order of the Multiverse-Books ——————————————————————————————— What do we talk about tonight? ~“How about a story?”~ Fine by me. Which story? Hopefully a good one. ~“There was once a lonely child in a world filled with myths, gods and demons. Only power counted there and the weak were worse than cattle. A world where survival of the fittest ruled.”~ Was it strong then? ~“No, but the child had a power. One that made him stand between light and darkness. Nothing could escape him, so he was shunned by his people.”~ What did he do? Did he fight his fate? Did he hide his power? What was it? ~“Oh, he fought. He fought a lot. And no thing could escape his power. It was something that everyone had to live with.”~ So he became a hero and changed the world? ~“…”~ Tell me. ~“Nooo, that's not how the story goes. This isn't a story of a noble man, doing good amidst a sea of monsters. This is a story of a demon who was... kinder than the rest.”~ A kind demon? How boring. ~“I think it would be better if I tell the story, so you can judge for yourself.”~ So tell the story!
8 134A Titan's Crusade
Erik Thayne spent most of his life being brutally ridiculed and tormented for his weight and physical appearance, among other things. A social pariah and diagnosed with an eating disorder no one has an explanation or treatment for, Erik spent years trying to overcome his issues with his personal image and escape the ridicule and vicious torment of his peers. After years of dedicated effort, and a fresh start in a town away from his childhood and adolescent tormentors, he had finally begun to truly realize what he'd been striving for all along. Only, fate apparently has other plans because in the blink of an eye, Erik found himself snatched from Earth and taken to another universe, another world, where he is offered the chance to be more than he'd ever imagined. Now, he has to fight to restore the Balance between Chaos and Order on a world of swords and magic, in a universe governed by the System's laws, which resemble those of RPGs from Earth. Erik learned to embrace the things about himself that others taught him to hate, using them to reforge his physical identity into something more removed from his old self-loathing. But can he learn to embrace the darkest parts of his mind just as he did the reviled aspects of his body and become who he needs to be to succeed in the task set before him? It might just prove easier to stalk in the dark as a monster than to walk in the light as a man... *This is my first time publishing anything I've written to a public audience. Due to formatting issues, I forwent traditional stat-screens for something a little less problematic, delineating stat screens by separating them from regular text with horizontal lines in a lighter-grey coloration. Let me know if you like them or not. Criticism is entirely welcome, but please don't hate on my work after only reading 1 chapter. This is a writing project I intend to complete but I have committment problems so we'll see how long this goes on. Also, fair warning, as the description implies, the main protagonist is intended to be someone who has been treated cruelly, developed antisocial tendencies, and ultimately has to question his own humanity--or lack thereof. This story is not intended to be brutally dark but I will definitely be trying to follow a darker theme. It is intended to be violent and some scenes later in the story might be...alarming. There will likely also be some light, non-graphic (think more implied with crude jokes and conversation than actual details, there will be no full-blown sex scenes)relationship scenes planned later and if you're opposed to either a bisexual or gay main character, stay away. I haven't yet decided which way he's going to swing but the odds on him being straight are relatively miniscule, and I've always wanted to write a story about a gay man who basically looks like a lumberjack because who doesn't like giving conventional stereo-types the middle finger? This will NOT be a harem story, and I have no intention to focus on romance over action--it's a consequence of character development where I'm concerned, not the be-all-end-all of the story. The cover-art does not, in any way, belong to me. It was an image titled the Druid King (by duskanmarkovic according to the file name) which I found on Google Images. Until I can get something commissioned, this is the best stand-in image I could find.
8 106Live by the Sword
--Follow a bandit prone to making poor choices in life. He lives in a somewhat medieval age where steel is king, blood is shed fairly lightly, and weakness gets you punished fast. But that's okay. As long as he has his sword, he'll be fine. Right? --This story is tragic and contains some depictions of violence and nudity. The attitudes of the characters don't represent my views and some of them are highly questionable. Due to these reasons, I've flagged the story as adult content. --I've been working on Live by the Sword since as far back as 2012 and it is my first actual effort at completing a book. Maybe I'll stick with it and there will be paperbacks of it some day. Who knows. Either way, I hope the words I tell give you amusement and perhaps some cause to think. Cheers.

8 166The Collected Short Stories of Necrontyr525
Hey all, Necrontyr525 here! Rather then drown you all in a flood of one- to three-chapter mini-fics, I've decided to put out all of my short stories in an 'omnibus' format, sorted by series and by release date. These stories span my entire progress as a writer-for-fun over the past three plus years, with the corisponding variance in length, subject matter, and quality. Each chapter will get an Author's Note as a sort of forwards. Not nessisarily as a summary, but more to give you all some context for where each short came from, as well as any chapter-spicific trigger warnings. I can't think of any off of the top of my head, but better safe then sour.Comments, reviews, and constuctive criticizm is welcome, but please do recall that these works collectivly represent a great deal of my growth as a writer.Cover by the wonderful gej302! Go and show them some love!
