《Mana-Script》Chapter 32 - Round 2 (1)

The next day went by surprisingly quickly. It was far more relaxing, being able to watch matches knowing you could rest that day. Jude did have something to do though; responding to messages from his friends who had seen the broadcast. It felt good at first, a small taste of stardom, but that quickly faded when it became a bit repetitive.
In the evening he called his parents to talk to them about it. They kept telling him how proud they were, however his mother was not impressed that he managed to hospital himself. No matter how brief the stay was. His dad did find quite amusing, until he was told off for laughing.
After the call he was able to reflect on the days. The first two days had made him do things he thought impossible for himself. He was no leader. He was a strategist at best. He was no fighter. He was a supporter at best.
But now he had not only led a team successfully, he had also won a fist fight.
Today was the weirdest, though. His hand seemed to be fully healed even after having to be bandaged by doctors. The small burns and scratches had all disappeared through the day. But he had been sat watching the second half of the first round of the tournament.
Although it was mainly for enjoyment he had also been watching to see who he could be fighting again in the future. Both immediate and long-term. If he beat all other opponents then he would face the winner of this side of the bracket. But if it’s true all the teams who had made it this far would be competing in a league then surely these would be beneficial to know what their strongest are like beforehand.
Lying in bed, the rush of information flooded his brain. Three days all coming back in a landslide. Not to mention the contemplation o the next day.

There was that woman who is to fight Nerissa. Her powers were weird. He would need to see them again to check but he had a working theory that whatever she said happens.
It was his next opponent that concerned him more though. Archie.
His first match was nothing memorable. It was not so close that it was nail biting entertainment. But it also was not a complete domination like Nerissa performed.
He was smart. His alteration made him so. The glasses were the problem. The better he could see the smarter he became, unfortunately he needed varifocal lenses. But how to get them off? Not only can he calculate your moves, he can analyse your movements mid fight.
Jude just laid there, thinking. Coming up with a strategy.
There was one thing to try. Jude’s alteration allowed him to change element every five minutes. It was supposedly a hard and fast rule. Alterations are like muscles. They need to be trained and pushed to strengthen. So after training these past few months Jude was confident he could force himself to change element just before the five minutes mark and surprise him. A quick thing like that would be too fast to be stopped and would at least damage the glasses
Damaged glasses was equal to a win.
He spent so much time thinking it over of which elements he would switch between, which two had the best chance of confusing him, that he heard the familiar song of his alarm. He had been lost in his own mind so long that he had fallen asleep and woken up ten hours later. It was 8 a.m.
He scrambled to shower, get dressed, and prepare himself for the day. He ran downstairs to the breakfast awaiting him and spent time with his friends before they all headed to the arena. He was the first up. Whilst waiting in his seats he looked around Archie.

He was nowhere to be seen, probably a waste of time to be this early. But his friends weren’t there either. The whole group was missing. Probably just following Archie’s lead.
It was nearly time so Jude went to the ring.
He was lead on, he was racked with nerves. He had to have this go perfectly. The plan had to be perfect. But after five minutes there was no show of his opponent he began to become confused.
After ten a time limit was placed and Jude sat down in the sand.
After fifteen he was declared the winner by default.
It was only a few weeks later that he learnt Archie was being dragged around the town by his friends when one of them took his glasses and accidentally broke them. So they tried to get them fixed or a new pair but they were an hour late.
From then on each member of the group would carry a spare pair for Archie.
Jude advanced, by default, onto the next round.

Vemödalen: From The Other Side
War is coming - And when it comes - And where it comes - And whence it comes - The living shall envy the dead One to carry their sword in the name of their goddess and lady, to protect their land and people against the threat of the wicked. They know their path to be the righteous one. One to roam the land, hunting for all apparitions, and be scorned by man and beast alike. They know their path to be an arduous one. One to wander the realm in search of power, to protect themselves and what they believe in. They know their path to be the only one. Writers note: The first chapter will set the standard in terms of mood for the remainder of the story. It also comes to no surprise to me that half the people who read the first part stop reading any further. It has quite a bit of the good ‘ol ‘ultra-violence’ mixed with a great deal of realism. As much as I could fit into it from my own knowledge and experience in the elite forces. The first few chapters will be slow, after, but starting from ‘Restless Destroyer’ the remainder of the world will start to open up, and when we hit ‘Adronitis’ the prologue is largely finished. The novel is well thought out and filled with hidden lore, culture, history. So even if my word choice appears random – it’s not. There is a reason why these chapters take as long as they do. Vermodalen is fantasy adventure, with magic and heroics in an as realistic setting as I could fit. Things are rarely what they seem, and the ugly nature of people bleed through the letters at the turn of every page. I hope you can give this story a fair chance, even if it isn’t immediately to your taste. Lastly, english isn't my first language. It isn't my second one either. So, if you find errors in grammer and spelling, wordplay and sentance building, do let me know, and you will be rewarded by a surge of dopamine that will be released inside your brain for helping someone whom you haven't even seen or heard.

Quest of the Seal Bearers - Book 1: The Warriors Return

Fantasma, leader of the global government, and his colleagues are determined to find cause of these attacks. but the search for answers points them to an ancient relic, The Book of War, a cursed artifact that can create indestructible creatures loyal to its master. It’s been over twelve thousand years since the Book of War was last opened. It was believed to be destroyed during the Great War by the Twelve Warriors and Daughter of the Sun at the cost of their lives. Now, it seems the book has resurfaced, and its new master is seeking to forever tip the balance of power. The stage is being set for another Great War but who can stop the Book of War once and for all? Meanwhile on Earth, the teen members of Greengale’s Action and Adventure Club are preparing for their yearly trip when they suddenly stumble upon a secret their parents have been keeping for years. Now their world is being turned upside down as they struggle to understand the legacy that ties their fate to Mendala and the Book of War. Is their destiny set in stone, or will they forge a different path? No matter what, their choices will bring forth a new era for Mendala. ------------------------------ If you love vast fantasy worlds, rich, fleshed-out characters, and a adventure where your'e constantly discovering new things along the way, then this is definitely a story you'll enjoy. This is a slow-burn high fantasy / adventure with many characters and intersecting plotlines. It’s a quest so lots of adventuring, exploring, and character moments, but not a ton of fighting/action (though there are definitely some great fight scenes as payoff to the buildup). Because it’s a fantasy world with lots of people and new concepts, I try to make it easy so that you don’t have to memorize anything. The narrative will constantly remind you of important people/places/concepts as you keep moving forward. Some things won’t be fully explained right at the beginning to avoid information overload. My goal is that the reader will learn things organically as the story progresses. I use two mechanisms to help with the intersecting plotlines. - Each chapter is named for the (main) plotline it’s following and which part. - At the beginning of the chapter, and anytime there is a scene shift, the location is listed. Also, though this is definitely a portal-fantasy (isekai) it’s different from the standard isekai, especially since the world transfer doesn’t happen immediately. It’s not Lit-RPG but characters gain powers and grow over time. Also, it’s a group of teens that transfer, not just one central character. All of the teens are distinct characters, with their own character-arcs, relationships, powers, growth etc. Hopefully you’ll find this interesting as you’ll see the world and story from multiple perspectives. The story is always in 3rd Person (Omniscient) POV so that it’s not jarring as perspectives shift.
