“Before University there was one event that truly shaped my life.” The recording of Jude stated.

The image switched from Jude to a bustling city center.

A younger Jude was walking through the streets, listening to music.

The ground began to rumble, and a piercing animalistic screech swept through the street. The scream was merely a warning for what would appear.

Long appendages stretched out above the buildings around Jude. The giant humanoid creatures crawled through the street. With the fins and accessories of fish, with the overall build of an insect that stood on two legs, these creatures were terrifying.

Jude and the crowd by him were terrified. Known as Kurushimerus they had come from another world that was off limit to the public for another year after this event.

A cacophony of screams, shouts and screeches could be heard as everyone tried to flee. The creatures yelled out as the noise had confused them.

Jude fell to the floor, frozen in fear. As he looked up at the looming beings, he noticed a presence move beside him. A figure with a tattered brown cloak walked next to him. He saw a scabbard for a katana with a red and black design.

The stranger flicked his thumb upwards, pushing the blade out. With a flash of steel, the world went black.

A giant shadow appeared and pinned down one of the creatures.

In an instant the hooded stranger was in the air, sword fully drawn.

Another blink of the eye and the creature was decapitated.

Yet once again the figure teleported to the other one that was at the opposite end of the street.

Its head disappeared and a rain of green blood began. Spurting on the ground it wasn’t long before the ground was soaked olive.

As suddenly as they had appeared the creatures and the shadow seemed to be pulled into the sword. Forcing the blade back into its scabbard the figure offered their hand to Jude.

Taking their hand Jude felt how firm and worked it had been. Pulled up by him Jude could immediately see that it was man who had helped him.

“Thank you so much.”

“No problem kid. Try not to freeze up so much next time.”

The man started to walk away.

“Oh, and if I can give you some advice. Your life will get a whole lot more interesting if you go to Norfield University.”

With that he got lost in the rabble as the crowd started to come back.
