23 rd Day of the Month of the War Sovereign, 1537.
Drake was almost 190 cm with his well toned body and had an added matured look to his face due to frequent life and death fights. He had already come to the 4th stage of body tempering. His training as a warrior was progressing well while his swords style had made very little progress which caused him to feel depressed. The orb which was in his chest had hardly any changes except it having grown a little bit. His training in close combat and sword had improved considerably though. While his ability to control the slow vision had improved and he was able to use it for a longer amount of time. Before after an hour of use he would feel tired. Now he was able to use it for almost 3 hours. He had been living in the forest for the past 6 months and was familiar with the entire valley by now even though it was only the outskirts the danger he faced was not low. Once while he was picking rare fruit a high rank beast started chasing him. He almost lost his life in the chase even though he escaped it took him 20 days to recover from his injuries. He had killed hundreds of beasts and had become a veteran in hunting and surviving in wilderness he also assimilated all the memories in his consciousness that he had not done previously and gained a lot of knowledge about rare treasures beasts and some scattered martial techniques and tips for training. The most important record he gained was the sword art manuals in the martial techniques which he could infer from and improve his own swordsmanship.
……. …….
Drake was wandering the forest when he spotted a horned boar which was going to be his dinner warriors had huge appetites due to their body requiring more energy than normal people. He quickly climbed up the tree and started jumping on branches while concealing his presence as soon as he was above the boar he jumped while unsheathing his sword and penetrated the skull.

‘’Wow I was just about getting sick of eating dire wolf meat and brown snake meat’’
He waved his hand and stored he carcass in his storage ring. As he was about to leave he sensed the presence of three people 10 m away from him hiding in the bush and immediately became tense.
The three men had seen him storing the body and remembered his grandpa’s words about keeping the ring hidden. He turned and shouted-
‘’Come out I know you are hiding there’’
The three men came out of the bushes.
‘’Young man you did a nice job sensing us’’
The three men had a bloodthirsty aura around them and were armed the one in the middle was armed with a glaive and seemed to be the leader and was also the one who spoke. They had their faces covered. Which caused drake to be even more wary as his body immediately tensed and his mind became alert. He could feel that the men had killed before. He still maintained a composed look and asked them in a cold voice ’’who are you and why were you hiding’’.
The three men then gave a laugh as the leader said-
‘’Hand over everything you have on yourself including the spatial treasure you used to store the boar carcass and I might spare your life.’’
‘’I refuse to give you anything if you want it come and get it’’
He immediately pulled out his swords and got ready for battle.
The two men beside the leader took out their swords and lunged towards Drake. Drake immediately dodged one of them while kicking the other in the chest. The one who was kicked fell down while the one who had his attack dodged lost his balance. Drake slashed his sword at the man which cleanly beheaded him and immediately rushed towards the fallen man and priced him in the chest before he could get up. Watching them die the glaive wielding man immediately became enraged.

‘’You are courting death’’
He thrust his glaive which Drake barely dodged as a few strands of hair fell down. Drake then parried the glaive using his right sword and deflected it while slashing with his right which the man dodged and took some distance. Both of them stared at each other as the glaive wielding man said in a vicious voice ‘’ young man you shouldn’t have killed them even though you possess some strength you are no match for me…’’ before he could finish Drake started rushing toward him. He slashed with genesis which was blocked by the man. Drakes left eye started glowing as he activated his ability and the world slowed down he could see every small movement made by the man and could think of counter moves for each of them he left the hilt of genesis and disrupted the man’s balance as he held destruction with both hands and thrust it into the chest of the man some of the blood splashed on his face. As the man died with hatred in his eyes. After he pulled out the sword. Drake started throwing up. And felt extremely sick. The swords fell out of his hands as they started trembling. It was drake’s first time killing people and he did not feel too good about it. He also felt surprised that he did not start puking after he had killed the first man. If he had done so he would undoubtedly dead. He took a deep breath before and calming himself down before going towards the bodies and searching them he first searched the two men and found a few potions which he directly threw into his ring and walked over to the glaive wielding man and picked up his glaive which looked like a enchanted weapon and had a reddish shine he put it away and found a black ring on the man’s finger and immediately recognised it. It was a spatial ring. He picked it up and binded it to himself. And dashed away from the area.
Drake found a black box in which he found a violet coloured peach and immediately became overjoyed it was a treasured fruit called the violet body fruit which was very beneficial for his training and would allow him to reach body tempering 6th stage immediately. He went back to his cave as it would soon be dark and went back to his cave. Half an hour after he left a group of men arrived at that seen and a ferocious looking middle aged man ran over towards the bodies and picked up the glaive wielding man’s body and howled in rage as he shouted.
‘’IF I FIND THE BASTARD THAT KILLED MY SON I WILL FIND HIM AND CUT HIM INTO A THOUSAND PIECES AND FEED THEM TO THE PIGS’’
He then looked at the other two men as he told his men ‘’ sell the family of these dead idiots who could not even protect my son’’.
Unaware of all this drake was leisurely checking his spoils. This was the only time he would be so relaxed as the hunt for him was about to begin.

Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.
