A handsome middle-aged man in clean white robes with a sword in each hand was standing in endless space while in front of him was a large crack in space through which a massive army of hideous creatures was coming. At the head of this army was a giant with four arms, each of which was wielding a large double-bladed axe. The giant spoke in a booming voice which caused the void to shudder; ''We cracked the universal barrier to enter this universe. Advance! Slaughter them all! Make this universe suitable for our Devil race''. The entire army let an earth shattering roar. The giant looked at the man who had a golden eye giving off a mysterious glow and spoke “You must be a native of this realm, barbarian!''. The middle-aged man raised one of his swords ignoring the giant and slashed towards the incoming army causing the void to shatter. The face of the giant changed when he saw this attack and tried to block it but the golden sword light killed him and the army. He spoke towards the crack in an angry voice; ''BEGONE YOU WRETCHES!!''. Another sinister sounding voice came through the crack which said, ''Never thought there would be someone in this isolated realm who had reached such level of strength, but it's all useless. You cannot stop us'', after which a man in black robes with a tail and three horns on his head stepped through the crack emitting ripples as powerful as the middle-aged man. Behind him came 12 more people with the same strength as the black robed man.
The black robed man said, ''We are the army commanders of the 5th Heaven devil army under our supreme Heavenly Devil God Asakku'' the middle aged man looked at the crack though which another man came out. He had handsome features and looked no different from humans. After seeing him the 13 commanders knelt down and said: “Greetings your highness!” He looked towards the middle aged man and said ''puny barbarian kneel and I shall consider making you my slave since you have decent strength’. The middle aged man said nothing as his grip on his swords tightened; as he rushed towards the devils, there was an enormous blast which cracked the surrounding void as the 14 devils fought the middle aged man. The fight lasted a quarter of an hour in which 2 of the weaker commanders got slain while the middle aged man lost an arm and suffered serious injuries, but his eyes did not lose their glow. He continued to fight. As the fight continued, he found an opportunity to wound the black-robed man and as he was about to kill him a palm came from the void and took the black robed man away. The man looked towards the crack and laughed as he burned his origin and attacked the crack. His body started scattering into motes of light as he said in a voice containing grief; ''I was not able to protect or avenge you, but I shall at least protect my home and give this bastard a blow that he cannot recover from easily and join you to give you company my wife Alicia''! The remaining 11 Devils frantically rushed towards the crack to block the attack but as they were about to reach it they were shackled in their place. The devils looked towards the man, as the prince said in a trembling voice '' that eye, how could it appear here...'' but before he could complete it the crack was shut. At this point a heaven shaking bellow filled with irrepressible rage was heard outside the crack in the void saying '' I SHALL RETURN TO DESTROY THIS UNIVERSE ''. The middle aged man had a smile on his face as he heard this. He looked at his swords that had broken into fragments, gathered them together and reformed them using his remaining power as they returned to his body and went into his golden eye. His body then dispersed completely. Outside in the void a voice filled with fear and weakness was heard ''How could it be that eye it should have...'' it could not finish as the person speaking fell into a deep slumber as he too was pulled into the seal. It was the person who saved the black robed man. The only thing left was a golden eye which then formed a hole in space and started drifting in space time....

The General Core {The Sphere}
The life cycle in the Sphere is on the brink of collapse because one of its elements, the Dungeons, have been exploited too much by the mortals. The group who created the Sphere already tried and failed with several modifications, because the original computer-like dungeon cores are too inflexible to handle changing approaches. So they try another type of solution – taking souls from other worlds to try to find a solution before the Sphere Cycle breaks down completely. The General was one of the best soldiers of his world, rising from the ranks of a private through Officer School to the highest command with honors. But when his world faced a zombie apocalypse, even that was not enough and he had to make the ultimate sacrifice. Now he is asked for a repeat performance of planning and controlling a dungeon and its spawns in a world that he knows nothing about… But what is the Sphere really? What is that [Xenotic conversion] he has to go through to even enter the Sphere? Something is really strange and he will have to find out what is going on to get to his promised rewards – whatever they will be. Being a soul in a dungeon core means that the General has better chances of finding hints to the truth about the sphere – a knowledge that would help him survive. And no, the sphere is NOT a virtual reality – the key to its secrets is the place where it was physically constructed (Author’s hint). This is a dungeon core story - but there are quite a number of things that I will do differently than common to those stories. 1) I will describe the floors when they are explored, NOT when they are build. Yes, that will mean it will take longer to get to those parts - but I think describing floors both when they are build and when they are explored destroys quite a lot of chances for suspense when adventurers enter the dungeon. After all, if you as the reader already know where the traps are, then you can't really be surprised when the surfacers encounter them. 2) How the world works (and how not) is an integral part of the story, so it will be explained I'm a world-builder first and the Sphere is NOT a regular world (as hinted in the synopsis above). Things will work differently than in your 08/15 default dungeon core stories - as the General and Gunny have already learned in the second arc (and more of that is already scheduled for the next weeks (July/Aug 2019) when the Sky Arrows continue to explore and evaluate that strange dungeon) If you don't like these premises, then I'm sure you'll find a lot of other Dungeon Core stories more to your liking. But if you are interested in more than "Dungeon builds another room and corridor in medieval earth" and are not afraid of a longer and slower story, then go on.
