Fourth Watch Tower, Asylum’s Clubroom
Tristan enters the clubroom with the thought that he will be the first one to arrive since his class finished earlier than usual today. However as he steps inside the first thing that catches his attention is Azalea who is leisurely sitting on the couch. She is holding an old black journal. Her cat, Q, is peacefully lying beside her.
“Good afternoon,” he greets nervously. “You got here first.”
“Mhm.” She answers while flipping a page. She then closes the journal to check the time on her phone. “It’ll take about fifteen more minutes before the others arrive, I guess.”
The cat is rolling as if he owns the place.
“So… she skipped her classes again…”
Azalea opens the old journal again. She stares at a page for a while and then closes it. The silence in the room is making Tristan fidgety. To get rid of the uncomfortable feeling he suddenly thought of making some casual conversation.
“Azalea,” he calls while fiddling with his white gloves. “What were you doing before you went here?”
“Nothing much.” She answers while scrolling on her phone. “Just running around.”
“Why were you running?”
“Because they were chasing me.”
“Who?... and why were they chasing you?”
She puts her phone down to look him in the eye. She smiles harmlessly. “I’m quite popular, you know.”
“Oh… Okay…”
“Because I’m wanted.”
“W-wa-!!” Tristan almost chokes on his own saliva. “Y-you’re joking, right?”
Azalea forces a laugh not giving him a direct answer.
He still cannot figure out if that is meant to be a joke, so he decides to leave the topic at that and move on to something else. He takes a deep breath while looking at the closed door.

“Um. A-asylum…” His voice cracks as the words escape his mouth. “It has different meanings. Which one of those does our club refer to?” It is something he wants to ask since they have started the club.
“I wonder.” She smiles teasingly. “Why don’t you decide? That name was your idea and you’re our Prez after all.”
“Isn’t that the position you just forced on me?!”
Azalea chuckles. “It suits you well, doesn’t it Prez?”
He was only joking when he suggested ‘asylum’ as their new club’s name. He was not expecting them to just accept it. Well, more like at that time, Azalea just decided to write it down and nobody really cared. Because of that he thought that there is high possibility that their club will not be approved by the Student Council and the Headmaster. It seems that this academy is more on the easy-going side. He does not know if he should be happy about all these though.
“Sometimes I don’t know if she’s serious or just messing with me.” Tristan thought. “Asylum… What was I thinking? An institution for the mentally ill… Or…”
“Hey-!!” Blair suddenly barges in from the window. She shows off something in her hands. “I found a cool-looking bug!”
Tristan sets his eyes on her. “That’s a beetle.”
“Yeah, this beetle bug. I found more over there! Would you like one too?”
“Weren’t you supposed to be still in class? Why would you… No… Just throw it out.”
“You’re mean, Tan.”
“T-tan?..”
While Tristan is still surprised from getting a new nickname, another three members arrive. Emil, Duke, and Primrose come in together from the main door.
“I’m hungry.” Primrose says while eyeing the cupboards.
“You always are.” Emil snickers.

“I’ll prepare some snacks and drinks. What would you like?” Duke asks.
Suddenly the room has gotten noisy. He is not fond of noise and yet he finds this lively atmosphere tolerable. It is a little messy, but he does not hate it.
“Yes, I’d like some tea.” Evancross suddenly appears beside him. “Good day, Prez, and Miss Azalea.”
“Y-yeah. Good afternoon.”
“Remove the ‘miss’ part, it sounds gross.” Azalea smiles back at his greeting.
“I want some snacks too!” Blair raises her voice.
“Okay.” Duke responds politely. “Return that thing where ever you picked it up, and wash your hands.”
“And use the door!” Tristan adds before Blair runs off somewhere.
“What’s this box? It looks yum.” Primrose opens a box of chocolates.
“Let’s take a sit over there so Duke can do his thing.” Emil guides Primrose to take a sit.
“I want coffee.” She adds as Emil pulls her away.
“Yes, yes.”
Blair enters from the door, properly this time. “Hey! That’s my chocolate!”
“Really?” Primrose responds while chewing leisurely. “It wasn’t named.”
The clubroom is getting noisier.
Blair is quite pissed so Emil is trying to calm her down while Primrose continuous to eat nonchalantly. Azalea is absorbed doing her own thing. Evancross is just watching as if he is enjoying the show. Duke is done with his preparations so he started passing the drinks and some cupcakes. Now, they are picking which flavors they like.
Before going to this academy, Tristan would never have thought that he will be hanging out with these people.
Asylum…
For those who have nowhere else to go…
A place of refuge…

Shaman
*** Let's get this clear now: the MC is a trans woman. This is not a gender-bender. It's set in a fantasy world but the exploration of identity and gender is reality-based. Not a joke, not a kinky turn-on. If this is a problem for you, please just act like an adult and look elsewhere for something to read. *** Rating breakdown, since that should be public info: 2 x 5*, 1 x 4.5*, 1 x 3*, no reasons offered. A human shaman and healer returns from several years with the mysterious shyani, accompanied by her shapeshifting puma best friend. A valued friend, from her previous identity as a male student physician, has acquired an old shyani book, and extremists will not tolerate its presence in human hands. But back in human lands, the question arises: which world does she belong in? Generations ago, human explorers found a continent inhabited by an utterly alien culture of shapeshifting weyres and the shyani, humanoids who prefer dusk and dawn. A truce of sorts was eventually reached: humans claimed the rich lowlands, and the shyani and weyres retain the highlands. Along the border, practicality often rules, but on either side, old grudges linger in some hearts. As a student physician, Corin tried to take his own life, unable to bear the countless tiny wounds inflicted over twenty-one years of lying to himself in order to be, or pretend to be, socially acceptable. At the last improbable instant, intervention came, in the form of a spirit fox, who led him away from the existence he’d known in the lowlands and into the highlands. There, a puma weyre rescued him, and a shyani shaman helped him find his true self and offered a rebirth, a life with no more lies, and an important role to fill. Now a shaman and healer in her own right, Vixen who was once Corin learns that the one human who mattered to her in her previous life, then a fellow University student, has come into possession of an old shyani book, and the more fanatical shyani and weyres will stop at nothing to reclaim it and punish Jared. Even though it means going back into the lowlands and facing Jared as a woman, she can’t bear to just look the other way. This should be a short visit, just long enough to see the book into the proper hands and make sure Jared will not be killed for having it, and then she can return to the shyani community that has accepted her as their shaman. And, of course, her feline best friend Dayr insists on coming with her. But Jared is now a Lord, with considerable wealth and power, and his response to her presence isn’t one she expected. After years living with the shyani, she sees everything around her from a new perspective, and that makes it difficult to keep to the plan of making as few waves as possible. As an honoured guest in a highborn house, with only Jared aware that she has ever been anyone else, Vixen finds herself questioning where she belongs: with Dayr and the shyani, who accept her gender without question but have to make allowances for her differences, or with humans, in the culture she grew up in even though her past would mean a major scandal? *** Trigger warning: there are scenes of Vixen's previous life, which include some difficult moments and culminate in an (obviously unsuccessful) attempt at suicide before she finds her true self and a better life. Please be careful! This is the ONLY reason for the "Traumatising Content" tag.*** Complete stand-alone novel, 96K words. Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.

It's Hard to be a Hero in a Parallel World
A hero is transported from the real world into a parallel world similar to the video game he's been obsessed with for the past few weeks. The problem is, this game is way too difficult, especially for a nerdy gamer boy to survive. He decides to leave the hero-duty to someone who is actually competent while he looks for a way home. He hopes his knowledge of the game will help him stay out of trouble. Unfortunately, as one would imagine, the normal events of a game would change drastically when the main character is nowhere to be found. Read as the unlikely hero gets into trouble with his new companions, while trying to survive life in this parallel world. This is an original story that takes inspiration from and pokes fun at many novels, video games, anime, and the stereotypes and tropes that appear in those media.

Rise of the Business [Class]
'Rise of the Business [Class]' is a story about a world where humanity ended up fleeing through space, after suffering several great disasters at home. On arrival we crash-landed and were soon attacked by magic wielding civilizations who learned how to deal with our weaponry with a speed that belied their seemingly simplistic nature. We were lost. But eventually we survived by abandoning technology and adapting. But this tale takes place thousands of years later, after humanity has had time to rise and falter more than once. It tells of a time where we adapted too much, focusing only on combat and magic and learning to rely on the [System] that our ancestors built in order to compete and survive on this hostile planet with the others. This is a story about our final chance during a time when all of humanity is under siege again, where we struggled to adapt too late and ultimately had to learn how to summon a collection of people from Earth through time and space to come help - but not to the 'besieged time' but back a couple of hundred years - before it went too far down the wrong path, so they can hopefully change things enough to prevent a return to that timeline. Follow Livia as she is ripped from her favorite library and end up getting lucky, or unlucky? On her very first day on the Elderwood continent. While a trio of native lads excitedly leave home to find adventure, oblivious to how very soon they might end up entangled in the fate of the world. But the question that remains to be answered, that this first leg of the journey aims to find out; is what can a LitRPG bookworm like Livia do if called on to change humanity and prepare us all for the future, all before her 21st birthday? Find out soon, as we are finishing up book 1 in the coming two weeks. Cheers for reading this far, have a biscuit!
