《Saer Servitude》Chapter 165

Dressed in the old clothes of Jehaule, Saer walked down the spiral staircase. Saer had considered himself to be a big man but Jehaule changed his opinion. His clothes were loose and baggy for him.

Regardless, they were tidy and represented the nobility it possessed. Another pair of clothes of same size were in his bag which he hoisted. Since he had taken Jehaule's clothes, he didn’t pick his weapons. The sword on his waist had come from the room where he was in.

The sword was sharp and strong. Saer couldn’t ask for more. But the sheath was not tight. Still, he could make the compromise. He walked in the archway, adjusting his sword, barely keeping his eyes ahead.

Saer lifted his head as the sword fit in, with a clack, and saw three Calajhans gazing at him.

"Going somewhere?" asked Gisella.

"Remembered something." Saer continued walking, "I will be here in couple of months."

"Saer!" Nortze spoke in hurry, "Did Gervase tell you anything before he…." His face dropped.

Saer opened his mouth to speak but couldn’t push a word out. The question had hit him from nowhere and he was anything but prepared for it.

"I didn’t get to see him." Saer said.

"You didn’t?" he walked forward.

Saer locked eyes with him, trying not to get nervous. When he found the rest of Calajhans looking at him for an answer, he thought of telling him everything Gervase wanted him to know.

Saer squinted at Gisella, So, you didn’t tell him Gervase wanted to return here. You saved him a lot of pain Mrs. Calajhan.

"What's wrong?" Nortze broke his thoughts.

Saer inhaled, "He was already dead when I reached there."

Gisella clutched her mouth, letting a squeak out. He couldn’t tell if she was grateful for not telling things which could hurt Nortze more or it was something else. She muffled her cry by his palms. But Nortze was not satisfied. There was a dismay on his face as if he could drop a question any moment. Yet, he didn’t say a word.

"Mrs. Calajhan." Saer turned back, "Take care of your husband. Please."

She nodded, keeping her head down. Seeing her agree, Saer walked away.
