《Saer Servitude》Chapter 135

Nortze had no choice other than accepting the king's decision. He felt a little bit left out when he watched his daughter disappear inside the chamber. Nortze had emotions bubbling within him and the only outlet he could find was his wife. Even Gisella was at far end of the room.
If there was anyone who could read Nortze's non verbal signals and communicate accordingly in this situation was Saer. The same man who had been dragged to the dungeon on the accusations put on him. Nortze could not expect the same level of communication with Gisella, standing across the room.
Nortze could see her lips moving. As he paid more attention, he got to know she was reciting a prayer. Nortze knew the prayer word by word so he reckoned Gisella was wasting her breath in unnecessary thing.
Even if the wedding gets called off, we won't be affected. We could have run but chose to continue the wedding just to preserve the prince's dignity.
Tudor – he read her lips. Then she stopped reciting.
Gisella had hand on her heart. Nortze's hand also reached for his after looking at his paled wife. He was changing colour like blood had been drained from his body.
Then she fell back.
A doctor present there was quick to act.
"Check her corset." Doctor screamed at women near her.
The women surrounded her, searching for the correct lace to the corset crunching her lungs. A corset flew out from the crowd of women but none of them had positive looks on their faces. It was when the doctor stepped in.
Nortze pulled his robe up to his ankles and ran. He resisted himself from teleporting infront of her. In the meanwhile, he kept telling himself she was safe. It was a doubtful thought. And for a while he also believed it.

His feet paralyzed when he saw a guard carrying Lady Calajhan on his arms. Crowd inside the room watched Nortze at his arrival. Nortze stepped forward and touched her sweaty cheek.
"Nothing to worry, Lord Bloudkast." Doctor said, "She had a sudden shock. She must have a weak heart."
He received a look of, I am good, from her. Nortze put his hand on her forehead and she caught it. But there was no strength in her grip. She couldn’t keep holding his hand further has the guard carrying her began marching.
"Where are you taking her?" Nortze stood in his way.
"To her chambers." Doctor said, "She needs to stay away from stressful things."
"I will also go there." Nortze said.
They left the hall, leaving curious guests behind. Nortze could tell the guard carrying her was concerned too. But Nortze did not bother justifying him anything and nor did Gisella.
Guards took them to her chamber.
Nortze cleared the bed for her, pushing away some clothes laying on it.
"Call us if necessary." The guard said on others' behalf.
Nortze kept looking at his wife while the guards walked away. Before going, the guards did a favor to them by closing the door.
"What happened?" Nortze kneeled, holding her hand.
"Tight corset." She whispered.
"That's what they are saying. What really happened?"
"I miss my son." She sobbed.
"Why would you?"
She tightened her lips, looking away to hide her face.
"Gisella." Nortze walked to the other side of the bed, "If he cared about us he would have been here."
Gisella didn’t match eyes with him.
"He isn’t." her voice became thin, "That worries me."
Nortze shook his head, "Rest."
The door opened with a bang.
Nortze moved his head to see Braden who had reached to the chamber gasping.
"Are you fine, lady?" Braden came rushing to her, "Heard you fainted."
"She is good now." Nortze left her hand, "Take care of her."
Nortze then left the chamber.

PINAN: Refuge
All Haeok wants is for his sisters to be safe. Under Japanese rule, security and dignity are scarcities in Korea; and with the world caught in precarious flux, change will shadow the fight for his family’s future.Still- He looks to the north, and dares to hope that the soil of an ancestral homeland might harbor their dream of refuge. This fiction starts in 1942 Korea, during the final years of both the Japanese Empire and of WWII. Out of the necessity of conveying the reality of this time and place to the best of my (limited) ability, there WILL be explicit descriptions of traumatic events for characters. Cornucopia of Hope
The graduating class of Hope's Peak Academy has been kidnapped sometime after their graduation ceremony. They wake up in a beautiful, plush mansion with no idea where they could be other than the name Our Mansion of Plenty. The physical barriers of steel plates and locked doors might not be enough to cage them, if it weren't for the malicious mechanical fairy calling itself The Fey and ruling their new lives with an iron--albeit tiny--fist. While being kidnapped is bad enough, the fact that this fairy brat is telling them to kill each other is definitely worse. Apparently, murdering one of your fellow victims is the only way to get out of this luxurious mansion. But nobody would do that...right? Cornucopia of Hope is a non-canon killing game completely alienated from the the canon universe of the Danganronpa games. The things borrowed from the games are as followed: Hope's Peak Academy, and the structure of 16ish hyper-skilled teenagers trapped in an enclosed space and being subjected to a motive, a murder, an investigation, a trial, and an execution of the presumed killer. There are no spoilers, tie ins, or previous knowledge required of the series to read this story!

The Beta Test
Our nameless narrator participates in a beta test for an early VRMMO game Meridian 60. That's not the real name but it captures the spirit of the adventure given the chronological and contextual era of the game. His character is unique and special but purely for mundane reasons and not because of any inherent or social significance. The first chapter which is mandatory to submit a story on RR serves as a bit of a prologue with some exposition, although I limited that to a reasonble level. I plan to begin releasing additional chapters starting Thursday, to align with the 48 hour submission approval process and also because I have something to do Wednesday. I haven't written anything but the summary and first chapter, nor have I plotted anything out. This is because my plan is to release roughly 34000 words a day, 10 chapters of ~12.5 pages each, for 3 days at which point the story will be complete. I'd have liked to plan for more but handling the interface tables and so forth needed for a data heavy litrpg slows down the writing process. 100k words is a bit short, a standard pre epic fantasy 300 page spec fic novel, but this is mostly a writing exercise and I am considering a longer project if I can maintain the pace. Probably do a different concept, maybe a dungeon core, over 5 days, since a 500 page novel is more common these days. Slight subversion of VRMMO stories Stat heavy/crunchy No paying your bills by gaming No out of game conspiracies No angst, interpersonal drama, or damsels/dudes in distress Schedule is 30000 words a day excepting the first chapter, a limitation of RRs fiction submission system Fantasy, high magic, male lead, no party, guild, or harem No gore, some profanity, no sexual content, and no current plans for anything traumatic
