Every weapon in there was not in their complete forms. It made him assume the maces were hollow from inside too.

“Ser Braden.” Rudolph said while Saer touched the mace.

“Ser Braden.” Saer heard and understood it was his name so he pulled his hand off the mace then swiveled a Rudolph.

“Sorry, I got distracted by your collection. I hope you don’t take it as disrespect.” Saer said.

“No ser. Getting to teach you is an honor.” Rudoplh resumed, “It would have been better if Princess Eryne was also here. Your father has just given me ultimatum of a week.”

“You can’t send me back without teaching anything, can you?”

Rudolph felt threatened.

“N-no m-my lord.” He stuttered, “I will make sure your fingers have some magic by the end of this session.”

“Well, I need to ask some questions first.”

“I know you have a reservoir of curiosity within yourself.” The Maester said, “But it would be better if you allow your questions grow with knowledge till I educate you with some fundamentals.”

“Okay.: Saer remembered to give respect, “Maester.”

“What is your general opinion about sorcery?”

Saer put finger on his chin and tapped, lost in search for an answer.

“Think well. It matters.”

He avoided appearing a loof by keeping his original belief to himself and said, “It is beyond my understanding.”

“I won’t bore you with lectures. No matter how vague people are with definition of sorcery, it is always about telekinesis is the end.”

“What about fortune tellers or those who create places from a crystal ball? Aren’t they sorcerers?”

“They’re not sorcerers but a bunch of low bloods trying to imitate greatness.” Maester Rudolph tried hard to not clench his fist, “Magic is not made for everyone. It is just for the elites.”

Saer nodded.

“Close your eyes plese.”

Saer had fair share of doubts but nevertheless he glued his eyelids together.

“Now open.”

He opened his eyes and saw Rudolph with a sharp knife on Saer’s neck. When he gulped, he felt the point of dagger touching his tender skin of throat.

“What are you doing?” Saer grinded his teeth.

“What would you do if I shove it an inch further?”

“I’ll hit you back.”

Maester giggled. His chuckles escalated to hysterical laughter. He continued howling and removed the knife then he put its tip under his own chin. From his other hand, he caught Saer’s hand and guided it till Saer’s hand was in control of the dagger.

“What do you think I will do now?” Rudolph’s smile met an end.

“Can you do anything from here?”

The wooden hilt of the long knife started creaking inside Saer’s clutch. It broke into pieces by itself till the blade loosened and fell on Saer’s feet. Saer glanced at the fallen blade as well as broken pieces of wood.

“I just did it.” Rudolph said.

“What kind of sorcery is this?”

“Something basic.” Rudolph said, “A way to survive assassins for noble men. Most killers use knives to kill.”

“How did you perform this magic?”

“Immunization." Rudolph picked up pieces of broken dagger and put it on the rack.

“Meaning?”
