《Saer Servitude》Chapter 22

Half an hour went by, Saer was not okay with letting a sleeping monster walk behind them. They wouldn’t be able to defend themselves if the monster would wake up all of a sudden.
The monster turned into a dog which clutched a human hand.
"How can anyone dream this gory and still not awake?" Fierlo watched it.
"You said he will go!" Saer got a little bit loud.
"You smell like his mother. Maybe this is why he is still following us." Housekeeper couldn’t keep his calm this time.
Fierlo remembered of the time of being grasped by tentacles. Fierlo and housekeeper had got rid of the smell because they had been inside cat's stomach when Saer was dealing with its teeth.
"Now you blame me for this?"
"Yes I do. Fierlo, how can you stand this faggot?"
"Hey!" Fierlo stood between them, "We need to find Papa Monster right."
"With this shape shifting creature?" Saer frowned, "We have to get rid of this one before we even think about locating Papa Monster."
"Lock him in a room, housekeeper." Fierlo turned at him.
"I doubt how helpful will it be. But if we can lock him up in dungeon then he will be there for a long time." Housekeeper replied.
"Where is the dungeon?"
"Follow the stairs which go downwards. Eventually you will get to there. But be sure to mark the turns. This place can get like a maze."
"Fierlo, come." Saer said after thinking for a while.
"Footsteps of two people can wake him."
Fierlo gave Housekeeper a strange look.
"Look," Housekeeper began elaborating, "we should keep though of finding Papa Monster on hold for a while. Fierlo and I will search food for these monsters. Any monster can wake anytime. There are plenty of rats around here. Meanwhile, Saer will go to lock this creature up and we will meet again back at this place."

Saer gulped, "Hmm…"
He then changed his way in search of stairway which would take them down.
Some time went by, Saer had his attention on the monster following him down the winding stairs. He was having hard time in walking when most of his attention was diverted towards the killing creature behind him.
Son Monster was still not in a fixed shape. Saer wondered what made it dream for so long.
Thinking the same thing, Saer misjudged a step and tripped. He slipped front side first, almost taking the fall on his face. But his hands came in between himself and possible broken teeth.
Pain was same regardless.
Despite of the anguish, he realized he wasn’t on stairs anymore. Where he was a flat surface with some slippery slime everywhere.
Did he wake? He remembered and moved his head towards son. Saer saw the monster which now had taken shape of Housekeeper.
It was dreaming about him.
"Is there something wrong with him?" Saer whispered, hoping it would cause lucid effect in his dream. His sight went at the long crack which looked very similar to those which he had seen many times in the house.
But Saer was interested in monster's spectacle.
Monster showed Saer a bag. Then he dropped a human hand out of there.
"What are you dreaming about?" Saer said.
From the corner of his eye, he saw two glowing balls.
Father Monster? He shivered when those luminous objects turned out to be eyeballs. The eyeballs also looked like Tadeas' crystal ball with a crack.
When the creature came closer, Saer was able to tell what it looked like.
A toad bigger than him was observing them.
"Is this my food?" Toad said with saliva trickling drop after a drop from his mouth.

Adventurer Book II - Dawn of an Empire Short story prequel- The Lurking Lair: An Adventuer Series Short Story Summary for the LitRPG savvy reader: Looking for a LitRPG that is more tabletop traditional role playing game and less MMORPG? This is probably your cup of tea. Long term progression with a heavy slice of life element. Strong mix and inclusion of ancient Greek life, values, and myths. Hence, the world can be a bit more harsh and brutish than modern sensibilities. The system is tangible and knowable beyond the MC's insights. The MC is more of an everyman than someone specifically chosen for the experience. Author's Note: This is my debut novel. Up until this point, the only thing I have written of comparable length has been non-fiction and related to history. I am immensely grateful to all the folks who have given me feedback and helped me improve my writing.

Sage ▸ Stiles Stilinski [Book One]
"You do realize that I'm supposed to tell you when you're throwing yourself into a dangerous situation and that doing this will probably get you killed, right?" "I don't need you to take care of me, Sage." "Says the werewolf that fell into the floor." Sage Connelly was notoriously known for the fire that killed her entire family when she was only ten years old. Granted, that name held importance for an entire year before people eventually forgot about the Connelly's and the other family involved in the fire, the Hale's. Nearly six years later, when the little girl is not so little anymore, Sage comes back with more than just a leather jacket hanging on her shoulders. She comes back with a personality distinctly different from what her old friends remembered, not only stunning Jackson Whittemore into silence but efficiently taking away Scott McCall and Stiles Stilinski's ability to talk about the dead body found in the woods the night before. Even more, the bite on Scott's body that held an importance only two people in town could help him with: Sage, to her dismay, was one of them. When Derek Hale calls upon her help, giving her the title of Scott McCall's personal babysitter, she's inevitably forced to tag along with the boy's trusty side-kick. The introverted and overly, well, intimidating qualities that the blonde had lead Stiles Stilinski into an unfathomable struggle of convincing himself that Sage Connelly was just a crush, and that Lydia Martin would forever be the one holding his heart. That lasted as long as the one-way conversation the boy had with the strawberry blonde in the middle of a hospital. His downward spiral leads him directly into the arms of a stubborn, damn blonde that was confident she didn't need a boy in her life that was still tripping over an elementary school crush.
