《Saer Servitude》Chapter 11

"How much coin do you have?" Fierlo asked Saer.
"For this deed. None! Try something else."
"Calajhans are in danger. Time is slipping from our hands. Do you want them exposed to perils?"
"You don’t understand! This is all I have got."
Fierlo snatched his coin bag and said, "Then consider that you have nothing to lose from this point."
Saer watched his wealth being distributed to those people standing ahead of them.
He could do nothing except controlling his urge to punch Fierlo into unconsciousness.
Fierlo is trying to help me. He convinced himself while this bag started to become empty one coin after another.
Looked like Fierlo's plan was working.
Queue was contracting in a very short period.
I will not need the gold if I get inside Calajhan's home. Saer was getting used to of Fierlo's charity now.
"Here you have it." Fierlo offered a coin to man on front, "Now get lost till tomorrow."
The peasant had no problem in doing so.
Saer followed Fierlo to get in the house.
Tadeas sighed after seeing them once more.
"We come here by your rules." Saer said, "Now tell me where Nortze is."
"Is your head fine, madam?" Fierlo asked Mrs. Tadeas.
She had no intention to talk with him.
"Saer, I am on work." Tadeas breathed.
"So?" Saer narrowed his eyebrows.
"Sit." Tadeas said by pointing at a chair in front of a table. He sat in his own chair and waited for Saer to get in the armchair at the other end.
Tadeas slid a cup at his direction.
"I don’t drink." Saer said.
Tadeas laughed.
"I don’t expect you to drink from empty mug either."
His eyes fell on the mug.

"Make this heavy." Tadeas locked eyes with him.
Fierlo came with the pouch and put two gold coins in there.
"Heavier." grinned Tadeas.
Fierlo leaned towards Saer's head and whispered, "No coins left."
Tadeas heard it crystal clear.
"Fill this with coins till tomorrow and I will do the job for you."
"This is outrageous." Fierlo snapped.
"Yes it is."
Saer clutched the mug and walked out of the chair.
When they were about to exit, Tadeas said, "You two can skip queue when you come tomorrow. And if you don’t have coins till tomorrow, at this time, then consider my kindness expired."
The door closed another time, but the opportunity for them was still open. Saer was looking to make large of it.

This is the sequel to The Gray Mage, however, reading it is not required to understand this story. Deciding to allow humans a chance at having a wished granted or a question answered, Rynovar created a quest fifty years into his reign. Upon completing the quest, those who undertook it would be granted an audience with him and permission to make a single request or ask a single question. However, two and a half centuries after he issued the quest, none had succeeded and the quest was believed impossible, several stages of it having never before been completed. When nineteen-year-old Cyrus met Lyda at a restaurant, he broke the norm of his life cleaning up his brothers' messes and keeping them behaving to avoid causing issues for the public. Upon hearing her desire to earn enough money to attempt Rynovar's quest, Cyrus chose to help her complete what was believed to be one of the quests' impossible stages, revealing that he himself had a question for the god he wanted answered...

Vigilantes Make Us Safe: Rebel Rebel
When the world was on the brink in the 1940s a group of men and women with uncommon ability pulled the world from the brink. They inspired generations to come and led to a golden age of vigilantes protecting the world. Times change. By the early 2000s almost nowhere was willing to tolerate unregulated men and women dispensing their own form of justice. The dawn of the internet made operating in the shadows virtually impossible. Everyone thought the days of vigilantes were done but presidential candidate Richard Hughes, riding a wave of populism, has promised to bring these men and women into the light and empower them to keep us all safe. The passing of the Vigilantes Making Us Safe Act changes everything. All teenagers feel like they don’t fit in at times. Ryaan Asfour knows the feeling well. As part of an immigrant family in a country turning against immigrants, there’s a lot of people who don’t think he belongs. The election of Richard Hughes and the passage of the Vigilantes Making Us Safe Act hasn’t helped matters. Suddenly anyone who wants to discriminate can just say they’re keeping people safe and do whatever they want. Sudden popularity at school after hitting a game winning shot makes it even more apparent how much he doesn’t fit in with the rest of his world. A clash with a pair of vigilantes on his way home from school puts things in perspective. What can Ryaan do to protect his family and his neighborhood? Vigilantes Making Us Safe will follow a variety of lead characters including Serenity, Toxic, Hitbox, the Rebel and more.
