《Nirvana》The First Update

Emile left the Chief's home with swift steps. He wanted to see what challenges the Adventure Guild would give.
First, he had to select the city that seemed the best. He wanted to have a good start to his journey. This was a pivotal point to any future adventures.
Emile walked to the teleporter. He informed his party about the choice of the city. He told them how to move on to a city.
"So you're saying we get to decide which city you can go to?" Lily said.
"Yeah," Emile replied.
"Will there be any description about the city? The villages didn't have it." Nimble Rod asked.
"I don't know. It's unlikely for there to be any description." Emile said.
"Give us the list of cities and we could decide the best city to go into." Scarlet Sunset said.
"Okay," Emile realized that Scarlet Sunset was much smarter than them. She thought about everything logically and methodically.
Emile entered the teleporter and activated it by using his golden ticket. He saw an array of options he could choose from.
Emile scrolled through the list.
Emile shared the list with his party and waited for their inputs. He didn't want to click on any city since he didn't know if it was an automatic teleportation. Or that it gave a choice to select or not to select.
The cities didn't seem to have any description.
Emile continued scrolling when he saw a unique city. It had a star next to its name.
"Hey guys, White Star City has a star next to it," Emile told them about his discovery.
"That's most likely a capital city." Scarlet Sunset said after noticing that no other city had a star.
She scrolled farther in the list and saw a few more cities with a star next to it. There was more than one city.
"We should head to a capital city if it is a capital," Emile said.
"Yeah, The capital cities have the best loot and items," Nimble Rod said.

"If you guys get the chance come to White Star City. I'll be heading there." Emile said before closing the communication window. He chose the first capital city he saw.
He clicked on the city.
[Would you like to teleport to White Star City?]
The game gave him a choice.
Emile clicked on yes.
He teleported and arrived in the middle of a teleporter.
[Welcome to the Capital City of the Stellar Kingdom known as White Star City]
This was the benefit of having the golden ticket. He teleported to a capital which was bound to have good items.
Emile saw no one around him. He was the first to head into a city.
[You have gained the title: Pioneer: Tier 1]
Emile identified the title. He didn't know what the tier system represented.
Pioneer: Tier 1
Awarded to the first person to enter a Tier 1 city.
NPC's are more likely to like you and hold conversations with you.
Fame +1000
[World Announcement: Due to Mystical Flame being the first person to enter a city; we will now start the first update]
[You will be forcefully logged out in 5 minutes]
[Please make your preparations]
Emile didn't have much time to do anything. He ran around to see if he could get anything useful. Nothing caught his eyes, and they logged him out.
Emile's consciousness appeared in the Gaming Cabin.
Emile tried logging in.
[Please wait 15 hours, 59 minutes, and 53 seconds before the update is finished]
Emile didn't know what to do. It was 9:30 pm. It was dark outside so he chose to fall asleep.
___
"How many players do we have?" A developer said as he watched everyone log out.
"4.2 billion." A statistician said.
"All right, initiate Project: Nirvanic World." The man put down his coffee before turning towards the statistician.
"Release the video about the Nirvanic's when the update is complete. Tell the governments to calm down any riots or problems that occur. Give as many demonstrations as needed." The man said.

He knew the repercussions that would occur in the initial stages of this project. He will go through as many obstacles as needed. They did this to increase the overall strength of the world in case any threats appear.
They set the preparations. Now all they need was to make the world understand which would take a long time.
There were many benefits to being a Nirvanic. Increased lifespan, new ways of entertainment, better protection, etc.
Even if there were downsides. These downsides were people going crazy with these powers. Using them without a care in the world is one major problem they would face.
Economic issues would also show up since people would want to gain strength and not care about having a job. They could steal items to gain any commodities they needed. A Nirvanic was powerful enough to do that.
That's why they set a certain amount of gold a person needed to get the abilities. They didn't want too many people to have the Nirvanic System at the start of the project.
When everything calms down, they wouldn't care about how many people had the system.
___
Emile woke up to his phone ringing.
His father was calling him.
"Hey, Emile, I got kidnapped," Lucifer blurted it out without beating around the bush.
"What?" This confused Emile.
"I'm serious. I got kidnapped yesterday. They wanted something from me." Lucifer continued.
Emile didn't know if he should trust him since his words were something out of the ordinary. He also was a martial artist with fire skills, so Emile didn't know how he could've gotten kidnapped.
"How did you get kidnapped?" Emile asked.
"That's not important," Lucifer felt embarrassed. Whenever he fought with Emile, he only used his sword. He forgot about summoning fire to attack them. He hadn't used fire to fight in 20 years so he was rusty.
"The people who kidnapped me have a powerful background," Lucifer said.
"They want you to slow down the person's younger brother in Nirvana. He wants to become the head of his family so he needs people to make his brother fail." Lucifer continued.
"Why did you accept?" Emile asked after getting up from his bed. He watched Azure clean his room.
"They forced me to accept," Lucifer said.
"How strong are they," Emile asked.
"Much stronger than you. They have many ways of using their abilities." Lucifer said.
"Oh... what if I don't do anything to his younger brother?" Emile asked.
"They said they'll kill us both since they know we're from the fire family," Lucifer said.
"How do they know," Emile asked while freshening himself up.
"They were one of the two families that killed the fire family. They don't care about our existence anymore so they didn't kill us." Lucifer said.
"Oh..." Emile said. Emile didn't feel much hatred towards the people who killed his family since he never met his family.
"Okay, I'll try to stop his younger brother," Emile said. Emile listened to his father's word.
Lucifer sighed and said, "Well, that's good... I guess. His name in the game is Furious Striker."
"All right that's all I have to say to you," Lucifer said before hanging up.
Today was a Sunday. It has been one week since Nirvana launched.
Emile scoured the forums to see if there was anything interesting going on. He noticed that everyone was talking about the update. They mentioned him a few times.
They created theories on how Emile reached level 10 so swiftly. Mystical Flame being a developer was a popular theory.
Hackers seemed to no longer exist. As technology progressed, they were fewer loopholes to exploit. No one has managed to data mine Nirvana and figured out future information about the game. This caused the game to have a veil of mystery surrounding it.
Emile stopped scouring the forums.

Ursus Ex Machina
Ozzy was a man of the wild. Raised in a remote village atop the world's mightiest mountain, he'd been taught to respect and revere the natural world. The realm he was born into had been there long before him, and it would remain there long after him. Sure, there was the occasional madman who threatened to destroy it, but such boasts were always empty. No one individual was actually capable of demolishing this beautiful blue-and-green ball Ozzy called home. No matter what terrible magics these villains wielded, they were incapable of causing permanent harm to the environment. Even if the planet was completely devastated, it would recover. Life would find a way to flourish, same as it always had. That was what Ozzy believed from the bottom of his heart, so he never once felt the need to save the world he loved. After all, it was never truly in danger. The world would be fine no matter what. The people were a wee bit endangered, but that was another story altogether. However, what would happen if Ozzy suddenly found himself devoid of his beloved wilds? What would the man do if the realm he knew - one of wonder, magic, and chaos - was replaced with a man-made environment of concrete, industry, and steam? Ozzy could never imagine such a thing happening, and yet that was his new reality. After losing a fateful confrontation with a mad wizard, he and his friends found themselves transported to a strange world so thoroughly alien that every waking moment feels like a fever dream. Separated and scattered to the four corners of this land, each of these adventurers will need to adapt, survive, and overcome if they hope to reunite. They would also need to do so quickly. The sooner they are able to find one another, the sooner they can figure out a way back home and have another crack at putting an end to the villain's plans. Whether such a thing was actually possible in a world with barely any magic in it was a valid concern, but Ozzy had more immediate things to worry about. For instance, why did the air smell like a perpetual forest fire? How did ships sail through the sky as if it were water? And most importantly, was the pavement he was hurtling towards at high speed much softer than it looked? Probably not, but a man could hope.
