《Nirvana》Defending the Village
Advertisement
The players of the opposing village were all from the Village of the Canyon. They all lived in a small canyon gorge with a warm climate.
The rain had been a rare sight in the canyon.
Song Village was the opposite. Cool climates and forests were plentiful near Song Village. The rain fell almost every week. Fertile lands that crops could grow on also existed in the village.
Canyon Village players advanced forward.
The players who attacked Song Village assumed that they would catch Song Village off-guard. They would gain an advantage during the fight due to this advantage.
Guilds were leading the walk. They would gain contributions based on the number of players killed and if the Village Chief surrendered.
The Guilds were aiming for the Village Chief since he would most likely give the most contributions.
A system notification appeared in front of the players of the attacking village.
[Start an attack]
All the players who arrived to attack Song Village said 'yes' to start the attack.
At this moment, starting the fight completed Emile's quest which involved gathering players.
[You have completed Story Quest: Gather Players]
[Calculating Rewards...]
[You have received 2811 experience points]
Emile gained another quest.
[Story Quest: Defend the Village]
[Objective: Protect the Village]
[Comment: Kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill and kill]
[Reward: Will be based on contribution]
[Penalty: All players of the village will lose 2 levels]
This quest was another defense quest. Their goal was to kill the players of the opposing village.
The players of Song Village became excited since they also received a quest. They had received good rewards from completing the quest for defending the village from mobs.
The opposing players ran towards the Song Village players.
"How did they figure out we were attacking," Tilted Rainbow of Canyon Village said.
"Don't know... looks like someone revealed information to the enemy. What useless players. They can't do anything and they mess up the plan." Starry Wail said with a blank face.
They ran the distance between each of the player groups in the time it took for the conversation to reach an end.
Fights happened on all fronts.
Emile didn't want to be a support character, so he ran to the front-lines. Emile had an easy time, evading attacks and counter-attacking. His high stats allowed him to kill people without breaking a sweat. Emile moved like flowing water.
No one could land a hit on Emile.
They released spells from both sides. Most of the spells were single target spells meaning they only targeted one person from the opposing side.

They cast a lot of spells at Emile since they considered him a huge threat.
Emile avoided a few of them but they cast some of them onto his body meaning he wouldn't be able to avoid them. These spells they cast that on the body were spells that gave debuffs to the enemy.
[Someone has weakened you]
[Someone has poisoned you]
His attacks only dealt 20% less damage. This didn't slow down his killing spree. The poison became a hassle. He took damage every few seconds. The damage also slowed down his thinking process.
Emile continued killing.
After 2 minutes his poison wore off which lead to him having faster thinking.
His party had come back and also joined in on the killings. Players from Song Village were on average stronger than the player from Canyon Village.
Song Village had already completed a quest which gave them lots of common and uncommon types of equipment. The lucky ones got rare equipment.
They were better geared, and they had high-level players.
The players had an overall easy time.
"Hey Whispy release Firestorm," Tilted Rainbow yelled out after noticing that they are on the losing end.
Whispy chanted the spell.
Emile had heard this and wanted to stop it from activating. He ran towards Whispy and didn't make it.
Players from Song Village were having fun killing the enemies of Canyon Village. They didn't have a care in the world. The opponents weren't challenging for them since they had better equipment.
Whispy cast Firestorm.
This was the first AOE spell cast in this battle. It was a much weaker version of the Firestorm they could cast that at level 50.
A giant tornado of fire appeared.
This incinerated many players from both sides. They aimed it at Song Village which caused them to have the most casualties.
"Ah... It's coming towards me..." A player screamed as they fumble out of the way.
They didn't make it.
The firestorm disappeared after 15 seconds.
Over 1500 players perished from this attack. Emile wasn't in the firestorm since he was in the middle of enemy territory.
He knew if that if they had another spell of that scale then they would lose.
Song Village had fewer players alive after the spell.
It was 1000 players vs 1400 players.
They would have a harder time-fighting. Emile increased his efficiency when killing. He would deal with the minimum amount of damage to kill them before moving away from the players.
The players in Song Village didn't have a lax feeling anymore, they had become serious.

The players from both sides kept dying.
Emile had a weak AOE spell which he used.
Thorny Spikes.
It weakened the enemy since they lost 5 health per second. The longer they stood on the thorn the more the damage would accumulate.
This caused many players from the opposing team to retreat.
This created a breathing space for the players of Song Village. It lasted for 30 seconds before the thorns disappeared.
The player charged at each other once more.
Emile wanted to take out the person who used the AOE spell since the cooldown might not be the same as his firestorm. He didn't want another accident to happen.
He evaded all the opponents and dodged their blows. Emile ran to the back-line.
He looked for the player named Whispy. After looking around he saw Whispy relaxing next to a tree.
"He doesn't seem to care about the fighting," Emile thought.
Emile went around him and wanted to attack from behind.
He attacked while pointing his sword out at Whispy.
Whispy suspected nothing.
Emile stabbed him from the back which took of a giant chunk of health.
It startled Whispy which caused him to cast another spell. Emile didn't give him the chance.
He stabbed out once again which finished Whispy. Emile thought he was lucky since Whispy seemed to have more spells. He might even be a Nirvanic which allowed him to learn Firestorm.
Emile killed the players with support skills. He attacked from the back while his allies attacked from the front.
Their players decreased at a faster pace than players from Song Village.
After killing all the players with support skills Emile wanted to take out any leader figures.
He looked around for players that were giving out commands.
"What the hell are you doing. Group up in groups of 5 and attack any party that has less than 5 players," Tilted Rainbow was yelling out.
His orders allowed Emile to identify him. Emile ran towards Tilted Rainbow.
Tilted Rainbow saw Emile and cast a spell that teleported him farther away from Emile.
He mocked Emile from the distance.
Emile felt shocked since someone had a spell that allowed teleportation. He didn't take the mocking into his heart; he ran towards Tilted Rainbow once more.
Tilted Rainbow ordered the players to defend him and attack Emile. Over 50 players blocked Emile's path.
Emile didn't think too much of this setup. He could just evade everyone.
Players slashed at him, shot spells at him and even attacked together.
Emile looked through all the blind spots and calculated the best route towards Tilted Rainbow who still had the mocking look as he stared at Emile.
Emile gave a slight smile aimed towards Tilted Rainbow and ran towards the 50 players.
"Is he stupid... I thought he was a good player for a second," Tilted Rainbow said to one
of the players.
They assumed that charging towards 50 players was irrational.
Emile kept his smile as he approached the first few players.
They blocked his front. Emile didn't have to worry too much about what to do since his jumping capabilities could be used to clear the people.
He leaped.
The players attacked him while he flew through the air.
Emile used the blade of one player to do the second jump.
He cleared the first set of enemies.
Emile ran in a zigzag pattern towards Tilted Rainbow.
He kept moving in different angles which confused the players. They tried to attack but he would evade them.
Their agility had been much lower than Emile's. Another blockade of enemies showed up in front of him.
He leaped once again. The players had seen what happened when other players attacked Emile while he was in the air.
The players didn't attack him.
They saw that his jump wasn't high enough to cross everyone. They waited for Emile to fall down.
Emile also expected this.
He used 7 hit slash and aimed at the players from a downward angle. The attacks killed one player. It also gave a slight bit of upward knockback.
This was Newton's third law.
For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
The upward knockback allowed him to leap over all the players.
Emile had only used 3 of the attacks from 7 hit slash. He used the remaining attacks at Tilted Rainbow.

Tilted Rainbow disappeared and dropped loot. Emile picked it up with a grab of his hand. While picking up the items he ran away.
___
After 30 minutes
They killed all the players from Canyon Village.
No one was giving orders which lead them to collapse. They killed a good number of players from Song Village.
Out of the 2811 people who were fighting for Song Village only 485 of them survived. The casualty rate was 83%. 4 out of 5 players would die.
The reason the casualty was so high was due to the Firestorm spell and how they didn't have much leadership and control.

The life of a teenage hellworlder
We've all heard of the trope that Earth is a deadly planet by galactic standard; and has thus honed humanity into a ruthless species bent on surviving at all costs. As it turns out, that trope is true. Sapient species that evolve on safe planets develop to be peaceful and compassionate - and the ones that do on dangerous ones become violent and selfish out of need - usually wiping themselves out. But obviously, not every violent species drives itself to extinction - resulting in them being feared and ostracized - including humans. The life of a teenage hellworlder is a sci-fi slice of life story that revolves mainly around Thomas, a sixteen-year-old New Britannian attending a Xeno high school, who befriends a lonely apex predator named Javqua. Getting written by two amateur teen writers, things may sometimes be inconsistent or be confusing - feel free to comment and point out these problems. Gore, profanity, and traumatizing content tags are only for minor events in the story and do not happen often. Chapters are around 1k - 2k words - pretty short, but that's because we're all busy with our own lives and school. Trust us - we would gladly upload 5k word chapters if we could. We tend to upload new chapters every Saturday or Sunday. Please consider supporting us on Patreon!
