《The Inheritor》Ch 4 The Stats Screen

Actually, Quinn was not disappointed with Blake for revealing his mortal constitution. He was very excited to get meet his first relative. Moreover, he never met grandparents in his past life, so this was a new experience for him.
The reason he ignored him was because he revealed such a piece of information which was sure to push his parents into doing something idiotic and dangerous.
He was pondering a plan to prevent them; though he knew Blake will convince them against doing anything stupid. Quinn still decided to have a backup plan, he knew love can make people mad.
In Earth, there have many such incidences like a person killing or robbing to get money for saving his child, or killing a person for their organs to transplant it to their children.
He didn’t want to lose his parents again; he would rather not cultivate at all if his parents were the price.
However, he couldn’t think of anything that would convince his parents. His mind wandered
from one random thought to another, and finally, Quinn recalled his last meeting with Elgar.
*****
Four years ago…
On his 1st birthday, there was a grand party in his house with all his parent’s friends. After an exhausting party, Quinn slept soundly.
A few minutes later, he was teleported to Zenith box. Elgar was waiting for him, but the room was slightly dull.
Not only was the room dull even Elgar was very pale awfully and looked tried. Elgar looked like a malnourished and abused slave who made Quinn somewhat guilty.
[Welcome and Happy Birthday Host, Zenith box presents the Chaotic Divergent Synthesis manual and Origin Soul manual as a gift. Host Chaotic Divergent Synthesis manual is the technique created specifically for your physique and Origin Soul manual is a part of your legacy.]
[Only Primordial Chaotic Physique can practice Chaotic Divergent Synthesis manual if any other person were to use this technique they will die. So it’s advisable not to reveal about the manual to others.]
[Origin Soul manual is the only cultivation method within the legacy that you could use before cultivation, it will strengthen your soul. Also, you wouldn’t have any sort of guidance or previous references to help; thus, you will be on your own.
To practice, Origin soul manual one must not have any cultivation. Since the condition was very harsh, the creator of this skill failed to complete it, in other words, it’s an incomplete manual. Host prepare yourself for transmission, the two techniques will be directly transferred to your brain.]

A lot of information was poured into Quinn’s mind; simultaneously, Elgar started panting heavily, and he was drenched in sweat.
[Host I have thoroughly exhausted my energy, in a few seconds I’ll lose consciousness and go into a deep sleep just like Zenith box; to wake me you must find spirit stones to supply Zenith box with Qi. Host, the Stats feature, is unlocked; it will present data about you.]
Then Elgar slowly vanished. Only then Quinn realized that he forgot to ask if there was any demerit to his physique. He even considered calling Elgar again, but immediately dismissed that thought after Elgar’s tired face popped up in his mind.
After that, he called for Stats, and a light sky blue screen appeared in the room. It was floating in the middle of the room.

Chaotic Divergent Synthesis manual -
It is a unique cultivation technique that allows a person with Primordial Chaotic physique to cultivate different types of cultivation techniques simultaneously. Status- sealed
Origin Soul manual -
It’s the only technique in the host’s inheritance which could be trained before cultivation. It helps in soul improvement of soul and developing divine sense before beginning cultivation.
After checking all the data, Quinn’s attention diverted to Origin soul manual.
Origin soul manual was a soul cultivation technique with infinite potential. There are totally 3 stages in origin soul manual -
Stage 1: Soul Clone; dividing the soul spirit and creating soul clone.
Stage 2: Soul Coalesce; merging or fusing original soul and soul clone.
Stage 3: Divine sense; developing divine sense.
Completing the three stages one time is one cycle; once a cycle is completed, one can again practice Origin soul manual and endlessly strengthen the soul and divine sense.
He was only able to access Stage-1, after completing stage-1 he would get access to stage-2 and so on.

Only after entirely going through Origin Soul manual did he truly realise the potential this simple inheritance was holding.
‘If the only part of the inheritance which could before cultivation is this strong how strong will the other….”
Quinn was over the moons, grinning like a mad man fantasising about his out of the world inheritance. Though he was eager to start, Quinn took a few minutes to recollect his composure before once again going through the manual.
The first Stage - Soul Clone is actually simple yet complex at the same time. To cultivate in this manual, you only need to sleep and visualise or form your soul body; the next step is to divide the soul body. The only thing that Quinn could do as a baby was falling asleep, so it was tailor-made for him.
Though it sounded effortless, finding your soul is itself a very challenging task as it required tremendous concentration and focus. It is impossible for a small kid; thus, this manual is practically unusable, well unless you’re reborn like Quinn.
Quinn faced many problems; he did not know what exactly a soul is, much less visualising it.
First, he thought soul was his inner self or consciousness and searched for his soul through meditation, but all his efforts were wasted. Time was like an ever-flowing river, even after spending 6 months he was still stuck in the same place.
Then one day, when he watched a cartoon in which the many small bugs came from every single hole in the city. All the little bugs gathered together to form a giant insect.
This suddenly enlightened Quinn about soul formation; he immediately went to his bed and slept. He imagined his soul to be innumerable tiny particles residing in every single atom of the body.
It wasn’t a baseless assumption, the cartoon revoked the painful fusion with Zenith box; Zenith box disintegrated into many tiny particles and came to him.
The reason he believed this theory was because he visualised many places in the body soul. Since the soul was not found anywhere, it meant it was everywhere.
So he presumed if Zenith box could disintegrate to fuse, then his soul could also do the same; thus, he tested this theory.
Then he ordered all the soul particles to gather in one place. Surprisingly they all obeyed his order and just like an army of ant they all marched to glabella and slowly a familiar white-yellowish ball formed.
Before Quinn could celebrate, it broke into pieces and returned. It only lasted for a few seconds. Quinn felt like crying, he wanted to trash the creator of Origin soul manual.
At the same moment, his Soul Body stats changed.
SOUL BODY: 16
Willpower: 9 => 19
Intellect: 9 => 19
Wisdom: 9 => 19
Soul defence: 1 => 12
Soul attack: 1 => 11
It took him more than 6 months to just know what a soul was and how to form it. He was very depressed for spending so much time just to figure out what a soul was; he was even more annoyed because he still has not visualised the soul body.
Quinn fell from seventh heaven straight to the seventh hell after thinking about his inheritance. If all the legacies were this difficult, he couldn’t imagine how hard it will take him to cultivate them let alone fusing them.
If any cultivator were to know what a one-and-half-year-old kid has achieved, they would be rooted to the ground in shock. Even after decades of endless effort with guidance from their masters, only a handful of them could figure out what is a soul and how to gather it.
After figuring out how to gather the soul it was only a repetitive and monotonous job, all Quinn had to do was collect the soul and retain it for the maximum time possible. He had to repeat this process until he could form his soul and disperse it with one thought.
Though it seemed direct a lot of concentration and energy is expended in retaining the soul. Thus Quinn had to rest and recover before trying again so he could only gather the soul twice a day.
Along with a gradual increase in the time limit, the Soul body attributes also increased. Quinn was even more astonished to find that all his 5 senses were improving. The enhancement in his senses was like a bonus reward to him.
Though the enhancement wasn’t drastic, it gave him numerous benefits. Quinn also knew being greedy would never lead to a happy end; so he was content with the heightened senses.

A Beginner's Guide to Napping, Sunbathing, and Slaughtering Your Prey
Fang is a simple cat. Fang likes napping in the sun. Fang does not like being called Chairman Meow. Fang likes his belly being scratched for precisely 17.329 seconds. Fang does not like being punted between dimensions. Fang likes hunting and killing defenseless wildlife. Fang does not like mysterious blue boxes that appear out of thin air. Fang is having a Very Bad Day. A few things to note: Fang is a cat soul in a cat body, and that's not going to change any time soon. No cat girl evolution or possessed puppet or any of that. The slice of life tag is there for a reason. There is no epic tale here, only a cat doing cat things in a (hopefully) interesting setting. The game elements are pretty light, mostly there for flavor, so don't expect a huge amount of crunch. Nature is cruel, and cats are crueler than most.

Humanity Extinguished
I had the same nightmare again. The loss of my first life continues to haunt me, but now it aches like an old wound. A more grievous injury to my psyche was the losses yet to come and the inevitable hellscape I would return to again and again. Reincarnation is my curse. The lives themselves weren't all that bad. Losing people you cared about hurt and all, but even that pain was preferable to experiencing the nothingness between lives for months at a time. It was enough to drive anyone mad. Now I have to focus on breaking this horrible cycle. Thankfully I have all the time in the world. Trace is an average man driven by extraordinary circumstances in an indifferent and cruel world. His reincarnations give him a few key advantages but also take a heavy toll on him. He lives in a world where magic is uncommon and underpowered compared to the limitless physical adaptations you can acquire by getting your hands a little bloody. This story is one of hardship and terrible lows, but also monumental achievements and grand heights. The main character has flaws. While some of these flaws will fade with time, others will worsen. Thank you for taking the time to read my synopsis. I plan to release 2-3 chapters a week. Life as a Game, Cool
Soo… Hello? Why am I doing this? Ugh… Anyway, name’s Sethsamm, no last name. Why you ask? Well… it all started with me waking up and having this holographic RPG-like window in front of me. Sounds like one of the many mangas’ I read, funny. So I got this window, then it explains that my life is now a video game. And then shit hits the hay… Starts up a bit slow, also a bit of wish fulfillment. Of course, there will be plot since I have a dislike for stories without plot, conflict, or even MC struggles. Essentia Animus
Second Book of the Soul - Celesi Veil Trilogy When the living essence of three girls are put at risk, giving room for a second essence within themselves, even their hyper developed fantasy world might not be enough to contain their new found ambitions. Another story of another world, these three girls must adapt to their new essence, all while each is left to question if they are truly still even alive. While this story is a sequel of the previous story in the trillogy, it is also fully capable of standing alone in its own light, taking place in a distant corner of a Celese returning readers will be otherwise incapable of recognizing. However, the events of the story are a spoiler for the previous book, in case that matters to anyone. This story takes place over two centuries after the events of Vitae Memorandum, when Celese had developed into an advanced world, improved to a point that it is much like modern-day Earth while still using the gift instead of technology. The Aethyx languages are still present in this book, and even English still exists in the world after the events of the previous book, but are much less of a focus after the same closing events of the previous book. What is instead important is how the ending events of the previous book had resulted in the start of the Instrumentation Era, and exactly how the gift translates in a modern-day sense. While this book is still effectively a fantasy world of its own kind of magic, it isn’t the classical medieval scene that would be typical for such a story. The laws of science still do not exist in Celese, but that didn’t stop it from developing into something that looks similar enough. Earth itself still remains present on the other side of the veil, and its previous exposure continues to shape and advance Celese into the world it has become. This story contains scenes exibiting mania and similar dark themes, as it goes to great length to explore concepts of life and death. While the degree of such themes should not be considered to be as serious compared to matters such as actual horror, the psychological depth is still siginifcant enough to be potentially concerning for people sensitive to matters of this nature, such as any individuals with concerns questioning matters of suicide, mental harm, or a variety of emotional injuries. While none of these subjects actually occur in the story, readers who are currently troubled by such matters may find themselves considering old wounds if they are especially capable of empathy while reading, which could lead to furthered emotional or mental stress. Readers with a high capacity for empathy may find themselves troubled by concerns regarding any potential lack of mental/emotional control as well as considerations regarding the meaning of death. Readers who appreciate subtle dark themes in a story may instead find this to be an interesting twist of the same idea.
