《The Inheritor》Prologue

In a secluded village filled with vegetation far from the city noises and inanimate lifestyle.
A towering man with an intimidating muscular physique was sitting on a broken-bench in the road platform. His clothing was faded out, and the t-shirt was almost in rugs.
This man's sloppy attire and unkempt hair portrayed a defeated man by the series of failures and disasters throughout his life. His messy apparel would earn the pity of any stranger.
If the by-standers pitying him were to look into his eyes, they would be left with nothing but awe and veneration.
Contrast to the unappealing attire; his eyes were like a deep icy abyss devouring one's soul. Anyone could tell that he's a man with great stories and tragedies.
If a person close this man were to see him sitting on a dusty broken bench like a beggar, they would be gaping till their jaws fell off. Because he's Alistair Jones, head of the leading multinational company in the world. Besides, he's also one of the richest men in the world.
****
Thirty years ago
Alistair Jones, the heir to Jones family one of the wealthiest families in the country. He led a very valiant and somewhat lavish life with doting parents and carefree childhood. But everything changed after one fateful mishap; when Alistair was 12 years old, his parents met with an accident and died.
Unlike typical relatives, his relatives neither consoled nor supported him; instead, they were like crazy starving wolves, craving over his inheritance.
Alistair being an intelligent yet naïve kid, couldn't preserve his rightful property; his heartless uncles ripped everything from him.
Left with nothing but he had to run for his life. He was intelligent, but you have to be shrewd to survive the cruel world. The meagre amount of money he was left with was either spent or stolen or cheated, leaving him with nothing but hunger.
But his dignity wouldn’t allow him to beg or steal, and thus he just stood in the corner waiting for his death. This self-respect was ingrained into him from birth, and it was tough to forgo something this deep-rooted.
Later that day, a sturdy bald man walked to famished Alistair, "Are you willing to come with me?"
He didn't make it clear whether he wants to adopt Alistair or take him as a servant, but Alistair agreed without any qualms and followed the man to a mansion. Later Alistair was surprisingly adopted by Roy.
Roy did not have family and treated Alistair as his own kid. Alistair was burning inside to get his revenge. But his enemies were very really powerful and influential; moreover, they had just swallowed his assets, so they were bound to become even stronger.
Though money cannot buy everything in the world, it could buy almost everything in the world. Quinn learned these through the hard way; he resolved himself to become stronger than them to get his revenge.
But he buried all his hatred deep inside his heart, afraid of causing difficulties to Roy. But God did not entirely give up Alistair; Roy was an ex-military General with tremendous influence and connections across the country. When Alistair found Roy's identity, he immediately shared his tragic past and begged him for help.
Fortunately, or unfortunately, Roy wasn't willing to involve himself with those cunning beasts; he just wanted a peaceful retired life. Instead of directly clashing with them, Roy promised that he would train Quinn strong enough to fulfil his wish.
Alistair’s rage turned him into hot steel, and Roy was the best blacksmith. He went through special ops training that was never tested; the training program was formulated by Roy.

The harsh training moulded Alistair into a cold, detached, and ruthless person. He also got the necessary business education required for amassing money.
With just his physical strength, he could quickly assassinate his relatives; but he wished to plunder everything they own and show them real despair and torture them to death.
After fifteen years of groundwork, he ventured into the business world with a new identity as Roy's son. He wore a disguise to hide from his relatives since Alistair resembled his father a lot.
With Roy's backing, Alistair targeted all the bugs in the society that sucked people's money.
He took over their assets through many unfair and foul means. It was like a hungry cunning beast hunting its prey, the people targeted felt utter despair to the extent some of those men even committed suicide.
The money soaked in the blood of innocent citizens of the country, so Alistair never had even the tiniest bit of guilt or regret. To some extent, it could be said that his entire business empire was built over the corpse of these people.
Not only did he grab their property, after taking control of their entire belongings, but he would also personally assassinate them.
Though Alistair was a successful entrepreneur, his social life was an utter failure; he always thriving to become stronger and stronger. He did not have a single friend much less a lover, though he had many subordinates; they all feared him and were very far from being a friend.
Roy was not the best father, he was too rigid and indifferent to everything around him except for his passion for drinking. Though he truly loved Alistair, he never showered him with love; he was more of a strict trainer than of a loving father.
It could be said that Alistair's twisted personality was partially due to Roy's influence.
As Alistair's business grew, his reputation also developed, he was depicted as a deadly demon for the corrupt while a guardian angel for good; further isolating him by keeping him in a pedestal.
Actually, he was neither a guardian angel nor heroic person; the only reason he destroyed these people was to confiscate their property to quickly develop; he chooses the evil to avoid guilt and regret later on.
Moreover, he developed a strong bloodlust during his training, so killing people was the only way to quench his bloodthirst. Killing always needs a justifiable reason, so Alistair targeted the sinful criminals and corrupt ones.
Inadvertently he became an Invincible Dark hero in many people's hearts. Though he never thought himself to be the hero kind of guy, still Alistair didn't bother to refute them.
When he was 33 years old, Alistair started his long waited revenge. He slowly planned and weaved an inescapable net around them.
Actually, at this point, the business empire had more than enough power to directly crush them to their death. But he desired to show his lovely relatives a living hell and then slowly kill them to sooth his burning anger.
In the grand scheme, he made them lose all their assets and filled them with debts until they were chocked. The whole plan took 3 years; though he was strong, his relatives were also mammoths, and to cripple them silently was a very challenging task.
He destroyed them slowly, ripping off the flesh while they were alive. They lost their luxury, their house and cars, and everything. All those who were involved and even their children were now in slums, devoid of self-respect and dignity.
There were times when the whole family wanted to commit suicide, but they did not have the guts to do so. After facing humiliation and suffering for months, they were still could not find the person in the shadow.

A year later, Alistair came to their shabby hut, and "Do you regret it?"
Only then his uncle, the present head of the family, realized the chain of events. Alistair had a spitting image of his father, and the dark clouds swirling cleared.
All their suffering was his own niece, his elder brother's son exacting his revenge on them.
After realizing this, the old man's blood boiled in rage, till this moment, he was left with no place to vent his anger. He always believed their deterioration was just misfortune.
Now that he knew it was all orchestrated by Alistair, he truly lost his sanity and pounced towards Alistair to kill him.
When Alistair saw his uncle jumping towards him, he shook his head while gracefully side-stepping; after a dodge, he sent a powerful punch without the least bit of hesitation. That punch was filled with all his pent-up hatred and anger.
His uncle was an old man, and Alistair was trained by a military general in one of the world's most torturous training. There was no suspense all the odds were stacked against his uncle; the old man just collapsed after coughing some blood from the tyrannical punch.
Then few of his bodyguards rushed over. Seeing the sharp and sturdy bodyguards' other family members who were having thoughts of fighting knew it would be futile and thus surrendered.
Then Alistair grabbed his uncle, who was unconscious and gave him a tight slap which woke him. Then he asked again, "Do you regret it?"
His uncle shouted back with all his energy, "yes, yes, I really regret it. I should have killed you along with your parents. It was my foolishness and ignorance for being soft-hearted to the son of that bastard."
When Alistair heard that his parents were actually murdered, a sudden burst of rage took over him; though he suspected his parent's death wasn't an accident. He couldn't dig into as it's been years since their demise.
Now that his bastard acknowledged it, he felt a sudden rage took over him; thus, he a powerful kick and few stomps calming down. But his uncle did not shout or cry for help but just silently tolerated the pain. After beating his uncle into pulp, he looked around and saw all his other relatives shivering in fright.
"Break one of their hands, and it must be permanently disabled," and then he swiftly turned around and left the house. At first, he planned on killing them, but later, he decided to keep them alive as it would cause a lot more suffering and agony.
While he walking out, he heard the shouts and screams of his relatives. Alistair quickened his pace as he went over to his car and leaned over it while taking a puff from his premium cigar.
Ten minutes later, his assistant reported that they have completed his order. Then Alistair drove to a local pub nearby and drunk till he passed out.
When rumours spread about his ruthless revenge, it instilled fear into all the people. The rumours, as usual, were multiplied a few times, making it even more bloody and petrifying.
The next day when he woke up, he felt a sudden hollowness inside him; it was as though he has lost his sole purpose for living, Alistair felt more like a walking dead.
All his life till then was about revenge and hatred towards those who wronged him.
Now that he's got what he yearned the most, it was like losing a part of yourself.
Much to his surprise, he didn't get any sort of satisfaction or liberation by destroying them, nor did it give him a sense of peace. All he achieved through his revenge was forging himself into a demon whose hands were filled with the blood of numerous people.
Roy passed away a few years ago due to his old ailment, and Alistair lost his last relative. Thus Alistair went through an utter solitary and loneliness; the solitude drove him crazy and pushed to the brink of mental breakdown.
To prevent himself from turning into a psychopath, Alistair entirely dwelled into business and worked like a mad man day-in and day-out to develop his company into one of the giants of the business world.
Even then, he couldn't find the inner peace he yearned. Thus he chose to travel around the world in search of answers. Soon he withdrew from the company and started the voyage.
He visited numerous monasteries, temples, abbeys, and what not in search of inner peace; he even practised various meditation and yoga, but all his efforts were in vain.
After a few years of adventure, he still failed to find answers, but Alistair somehow managed to calm himself and enjoyed experiencing many different and fascinating things.
His journey wasn't entirely useless; Alistair managed to control his bloodthirst and violent tendencies.
And now he was sitting on the bench in a remote town. He's here to enjoy it's peaceful yet beautiful sceneries without any disturbances. As for his attire, it was because he did not want to be identified by others. So he chose a comfortable casual dress.
He was too lazy to care about his appearance; Alistair was genuinely relaxing and appreciating the solitude and serenity of this town.
Opposite to the bench across the road, an old lady was selling a few local sweets with her granddaughter. The small kid was around 10 and ran around with a small basket of full sweets.
When the child saw Alistair looking at her, she mistook him for a potential customer and quickly ran towards him to sell the sweet. Alistair noticed the small kid running towards him, so he just nodded with a smile.
At the same time, a speeding truck came down the lane, and the driver seemed to have lost his control.
Alistair realized that the truck would most probably run over the kid, and thus, he instantaneously dived forward to save her.
Though he saved the kid, Alistair landed himself in a bloody mess because, as he recklessly dived to save the girl, he got hit by the speeding truck. Everything happened so quickly that even Alistair with superhuman strength couldn't escape and soon realized that he was marching towards the inevitable end, the death.
Alistair turned his head and saw the kid crying while repeatedly apologizing to him.
''What a sensible kid.''
He thought, and a familiar yet distant warm current welled up inside when he heard the old women
"Sir Stay with us don't lose the consciousness; please don't die on us sir the ambulance is on the way.""
Only at this moment did it dawn to him; what he really yearned all along was this warm feeling that he had lost long ago. He wanted a family, a few real friends, comrades, and brothers. He shunned himself from the light of the world for far too long that he lost even the necessary touch of warm.
''So the world's top businessman and the most ruthless man is this stupid.''
Alistair was lamenting over his stupidity for not figuring it out sooner. He felt like ramming his head into the wall for travelling all over the world in search of love. But at the same time, he really wanted to thank this little girl and the old lady for helping him find the answer; at least he could die with an answer.
''Whatever at least I could see my mom and dad, ho yea! that old man too,'' then he died in the ambulance.
