《The Moonlight Sorcerer》Chapter 31: Familiar face

"Bori..."
Just what kind of creature is it? I don't have any clue at all...
I started to regret not asking just what is a Bori. The size, their ability, strength or weakness. I knew nothing at all. And here I walked in the middle of the forest with the blue rabbit-like blob pointing the direction with its ear.
To be honest, although strange, that creature is cute...
"Biih bihh!" Rabi jumped off from my shoulder and started hopping away.
"Hey!" It hopped away so quick, thus I ran following it. "Rabi??"
Damn, he moved so fast.
The sun is up and shining brightly. Through the foliage, it created shades on the forest ground. The weather here feels like spring and here I am running in the middle of the forest, chasing a blue rabbit.
"Wait!" I called at Rabi who's hopping fast and away from my line of sight.
"Bii!" I can no longer see his figure except for its squeaky sound from in between the trees. The shrubs were getting thick around this area.
"Did he go through here..." I mumbled as I weaved through the shrubs. The light aggressively blinded my sight as I walked throughout the shrubs. I shade my eyes to get a good look at what's in front of me. The path ended here, we were at a cliff side. The blue sky and blanket of forest entered my vision. Rabi was bouncing on the ground while facing me.
"What is it Rabi?" I asked him as he seemed to understand my speech all along. Rabi turned around and hop to the far edge of the cliff. His ears were pointing down.
Don't tell me...
I moved closer to the edge as carefully as I can. Looking from the horizon, I can say that the cliff is pretty high up. Falling down from the cliff is the last thing I want to do in another world. I peeked down and saw a protruding area from the cliff wall. There's nothing on the surface though.
"I don't se-"
*thud
"???" Something squishy and firm bumped my back hard. I was thrown off balance and tripped toward the cliff end. "Rabii???!" I complained as my whole weight is already out of the cliff falling sideways. Rabi is at the cliff edge looking at me with its small rounded red eyes. Somehow, I wanted to pull back the thought of him being cute.
He's trying to kill me!
Falling down like this sure brought back the memory of the day I fell down from the school rooftop. The bright blue sky in vision and the wind pressure on my back. Maybe... I will wake up in my bedroom after this fall. Maybe this is all a dream.
No...
"Arrghh!!" I shifted my body weight to barely faced the ground. I thrust my hand directing the inching close surface.
WHOOSHH
My body decelerated as I successfully obstructed the speed with a sudden gust of wind opposite my fall. "Agh!" I thumped down the ground but it only felt like falling from the bedside. I positioned myself sitting on the surface while controlling my messy breath. "Hahh..."
What the hell just happened
"….bbbbBBbbiihhhh!!"
I looked up. "Ugh!" Rabi landed on my stomach as though a cushion and knocked me down to the floor. Seeing the blue rabbit appearance, I hastily stepped away from it. "Bii?" He voiced a confusion. A moment later, Rabi hopped away from me and left me wondering.
He pushed me on purpose, didn't he?

I raised up from the ground, "Hey-" I called and followed him, what I saw as I turned around to his direction was a big cave entrance. I have then realized the situation. While Rabi jumping up and down below the cave entrance, "Biih bihh biih!" He innocently called me.
Why the hell is a cave entrance positioned at a cliff wall? I can safely assume that Nuh knew it from the start... But, did Erol know this too?
Rabi and I exchanged stare. But, he seemingly didn't feel any guilt at all. Instead, its ears tilted to side signaling confusion. "Haah..." I sighed helplessly.
Well, there was one good thing tho... Just now...
I raised my hand facing the wall beside the cave entrance.
BOOM! The wall dented and cracked. "Bih!!" Rabi was surprised and quickly hop away in the opposite direction. I was thrown backward by impact and fell to the ground.
"..."
I think... I somehow learned something interesting... Maybe if I...
After thinking for a while, I opened both hands with palm facing up. My heart started pounding with the thought of what I am about to try next. The thing every child probably ever thought of. That is to...
"...fly"
"…" A moment passed and my feet still stood firm on the ground with Rabi watching. His eyes gleamed with curiosity but I had failed his expectation.
"Biih?" Rabi questioned as I slightly cringed at what I just thought about. Somehow glad that this place got no people around. Anyway, who would just casually visit this secluded area? I looked at Rabi. He's looking straight into my eyes as though waiting for my next move. Feeling a bit embarrassed, I moved past Rabi and started entering the cave. "What am I thinking..." I mumbled.
The cave gave me a familiar feeling of the place I first traveled in this world. The glowy substances covered the ceiling while giving the tunnel a dim light. My nose was filled with its typical muddy scent and the temperature here is slightly lower than outside. The more I walked into the tunnel, the drier my skin get because of the cold. Rabi didn't seem to be affected by it though. I instructed Rabi to be as stealthy as we get closer to the target. He seemingly understood what I meant. Hopefully.
"...bihh..." Rabi suddenly stopped before the turn and fidgeting on spot. His whisper alerted me thus I tiptoed to the side of the wall. Slowly peeking through the turn, I saw a big rounded black thing curled in the middle of the cave. Shiny black fur gleaming with blue sheen reflected of those glowing icy ceiling. Its body constantly moving as it breathes thus I can assume it is a living creature, which is probably the 'Bori' I was looking for. It has a size of an elephant and seemed to be fast asleep.
"...Bori?" I questioned and got a nod from Rabi's ears. I looked back at the Bori creature while contemplating what to do next. But the cold is getting on my nerve. The cave where the Bori resides was especially cold.
Better finish it quick
Slowly, I stepped into the icy cold cave. My nose is getting stuffy from the cold thus I breath through my mouth. While hand preparing the gesture for the blast. The cave itself got other two tunnels branching to somewhere else. Rabi hopped on to my shoulder while staying as quiet as it can. Calmly, I closed our distance to where I can safely assume that my aim won't be off to elsewhere. I raised my hand targeting at the creature whose face I've not seen yet.

"bih!!" Rabi suddenly hopped away from my shoulder.
"Hey!" I whispered. Rabi hopped back to the previous tunnel while peeking from there. I was glad that it didn't make any loud noise that would wake the creature up. Staying still at where I was, I looked around the area but didn't see any suspicious movement. The creature seemingly still fast asleep.
"!!!" A voice resounded from the other tunnel. I was alerted but it was too late for me to hide away. A girl ran out from the tunnel and our eyes met. A face that was familiar to me. The girl looked at me with eyes bugged wide. I took a few steps closing to her. But she yelled. "!!!"
"Roooaarrrrr!!"
I looked up and caught off guard by the standing high Bori, with its claw ready to pounce on me. I jumped to the side.
Slash
The girl in front of me blinked to my side and made a cut to the Bori. "..Grraaahhhh!" It squealed with pain. I quickly back away from the area.
"...Kisaragi??" I called on the girl whom I familiar with. She glanced at me as though a stranger.
Why is she here??
"!!!" She said something but I didn't understand. She looked battered and tired.
"What happened back there?? Why are you here?" I aggressively questioned at her but she gave me a confused look. She clicked her tongue in annoyance and dashed to my front, she blocked a claw attack from Bori with her long thin sword. She turned to me while yelling something again. I didn't understand but now is not the time for interrogation. I dashed to Bori's side and aimed my hand at it.
SPLAT!
Its head exploded after a success blast from me. The body went limp and thumped down to the ground. Its blood splattered all over her surprised expression. After a moment, she ran toward me and stood behind my back. She grabbed on my shoulder and pointed at a tunnel in front of us.
"There's more!" The girl shouted. Although I didn't understand, I could feel that she's implying something is about to come out from that tunnel. I braced myself, aiming at the tunnel while listening to the roaring echo out of the tunnel.
GRAAAOOOOOO
Three Bori came out of the tunnel front facing me, they have a face looked like bear except that they have a bulkier body and crazy long sharp claws. Looking at their dead kin lying cold beside us, the Boris roared in anger before one of it dashing fast toward me. I quickly shot a blast and got another successful splat. The Bori thumped cold to the ground. Two Bori behind them whined and seemingly thinking of retreating. While glaring at me, the Boris turned away and ran back to the tunnel, leaving their dead kins.
"Hahh! Finally! Screw you! Go away and don't ever come back!" The girl behind me cheered and sighed in relief. I turned around and grabbed her shoulder. She was startled.
"Where have you been?? What happened to the others??" I started bombarding her with questions. She looked at me with a frowned face and then smacked my hands off her shoulder.
"What the hell are you saying?? I don't understand!" With an irritating voice, she complained to me. I stepped back while looking thoroughly at her. Although they share the same face, she gave off a different vibe. But her eyes... her big brown eyes had the same gaze as Kisaragi. Now that I closely observed, this girl in front of me has a bright red colored hair while Kisaragi is deep black.
"Hey... you're starting to creep me out" The girl mumbled as she glared at me with total suspicion in her eyes. I probably stared too much.
"I'm sorry" I apologized as I looked away but couldn't help peeking back at her. Even twin had different features, but the face this girl has one hundred percent of similarity with Kisaragi. Is that even possible?
The girl stared for a while before she turned around to the dead Boris body. She casually pulled out a small knife and started skinning the Bori which reminded me of my very first purpose of exploring this cave. I looked at the tunnel where I came from and found Rabi still peeking from there.
"Come here..." I beckoned and he immediately hopped to my side sticking close to me as he peeked at that girl. I moved toward the headless Bori while eyes glued to the girl. That girl stared at me from the corner of her eyes while effortlessly skinning the Bori.
I should be doing the same right?
I walked toward the girl and stood behind while observing her skinning the Bori. The girl quietly doing her job but then she turned around with an irritated gaze on me.
"Alright, alright, I will share with you okay? You helped me after all..." She mumbled. "So, stop staring at me..." The girl turned back and continue slashing the Bori open.
"Bihh!" Rabi hopped to the top of the headless Bori and opened its mouth so wide as it jumped up.
"Eh?"
In a swoop, Rabi sucked in the headless Bori into its mouth. The Bori magically disappeared into its tiny body, leaving me bewildered. "Burph!" Rabi bounced down to the empty ground and looking satisfied.
"Heeehh??" As if voicing my thought, the girl sounded surprised with eyes bugged wide. She looked at the empty ground, which the Bori supposed to be lying, back and forth to Rabi. I can assume that this is not 'normal' at all by her reaction.
After gulping down a whole elephant-sized creature, Rabi started hopping away from the cave and into the tunnel we came from. "Wait!" I tried stopping Rabi, but it seemed like as if he was programmed to go back as soon as his duty fulfilled. I looked at the girl who still stood surprised and clueless with a lot of questions about to throw at me.
"What is your name?" I asked out of nowhere. She didn't understand as expected.
What am I doing...
I canceled my thought. Although, she got the same face. But, she's a different person indeed. There's no use for getting know with her anyway. Not like I will be meeting her again. The girl said something but not that I would understand. So, I bowed at her and parted farewell. After that, I went after Rabi leaving the girl staring at me from the cave.
***
"Ahahahahahhaha! Really??"
"bih... Bibibihh!"
"Oh my, oh my..." That brown-skinned girl, Nuh, grinned at Rabi's report while I sit next to Elly and Erol in her working chamber. This place of her has a special smell. Leathers, muds, and minty herbs. Although weird, it was pleasant to breathe in. Somehow calming my mind.
There are lots of those blue rabbits in this chamber. They are working for Nuh I guess. A few of those blue rabbits jumping up and down on a big wooden bowl, crushing some purple herbs with their squishy bottom while drops of liquid dripped through the bottom of the bowl into a container. The sight gave a frown on my face.
"You should have told me." I spoke as I now fixated my gaze on Nuh.
"You didn't ask me" Nuh confidently answered. She was grinning ear to ear. I inwardly sighed. What annoyed the most is that she didn't need any of the material at all. When I returned, she casually said that she actually still has enough materials to make another one.
Hah... She's definitely making fun of me
"Yuu... have you hurt anywhere?" Elly innocently asked my well-being. She probably sensed how tired I actually felt. Not mentioning climbing back up to the cliff. Actually, I didn't 'climb'.
I stared at Rabi who's still 'biih biih'-ing with Nuh. I truly, never thought, that the blue squishy furry blob can actually 'fly'. Yes, and that's how I was suddenly carried back to the cliff ground while I thought I had to climb. It was my mind, that felt a bit tired, falling and flying up unexpectedly.
"I am fine..." I smiled at Elly. She has been quite since earlier. I wonder what happened when I was away. Erol also looked uptight.
"Are all those blue creatures' have that ability? To fly..." I stated while recalling the absurd ascend earlier. Rabi bit my shirt collar as it hovered up with its small pair of white wings which amazingly able to hold up to my weight. But, this creature can also gulp in a whole elephant-sized creature into its small body anyway. I shouldn't be surprised.
"No, no, no... Rabi is a special Tuzi..." Nuh promptly denied as she stroked Rabi's head. It seemed to enjoy her patting on the head. "…She is a special Tuzi kin..." Nuh explained. She had a confident smile perked her lips as she grinned and glanced at me with her sharp gray eyes.
"She?" I quizzically asked.
"Rabi is a 'she'…" Nuh answered, simultaneously Rabi stared at me as though telling me that she felt 'insulted'. How do you differentiate their gender anyway? They looked all the same to me. I brushed it off with another question.
"What make hi- her a special Tuzi kin?" I asked. Rabi's stare getting more intimidating thus I avoided eye contact with it.
"Rabi has the ability to 'learn' spells her ordinary kin couldn't. You know that most beasts got fixed skills and abilities, don't you?" Nuh explained as she raised her eyebrow and questioned in doubt.
"I see... Yes, I know..."
Actually, I didn't know about that.
"...does it mean that Rabi learned 'fly', a skill which is not common for her kin?" I added.
"Yep, correct."
"...and that ability to seized a whole Bori?"
"Actually... that is one of Tuzi's original ability. But normal Tuzi can only store in twice their own size." Nuh answered with a bored face and then she stood up from her seat. "...Alright! Enough question. Follow me... and you guys, can leave now." Nuh said to Erol who's been observing for a while.
"Yuu here, Elly stay too!" Elly stood up declared to Nuh. She dashed to my side and stick close to me. Nuh ran her fingers through her long silver hair as she exchanged a stare with Elly. A while later she smirked and said, "Alright, alright, alright..."
"Wait... are we staying here?" I asked as I threw a glance at Erol. He didn't seem to be surprised.
"What... Didn't you want to be my disciple?" Laced with seriousness, her eyes straight to me. To be honest, I felt uncomfortable with this person. She's been staring oddly at me for a while. Can I trust her?
"Yes, absolutely... Thank you for having us, Master Nuh." With no more hesitation, I answered. I didn't think Rhoselyn will put us in any harm. For now, I should trust Rhoselyn words.
"I will be taking my leave then..." Erol stood up and bowed at Nuh before he walked away.
"You can stay the night too if you want... you know..." Nuh playfully teased at Erol but he didn't budge and keep walking until he's out of the room. Nuh voiced a tedious sigh as she watched the door Erol pass through. Next, she turned around to me and smiled playfully. She slowly moved across the room to me and suddenly swung her hand toward Elly.
"Y-Yuu!" Elly suddenly flung away through the wall and disappeared.
"Elly??" I immediately followed but the wall is solid as I pounded at it. "What did you do to her!" I turned and shouted at Nuh.
In a hair-breadth, Nuh blinked and now just an inch away to me. She placed both her hands on my side while my back lay flat on the wall. She was floating mid-air with her long hair fluttering on air. Her eyes positioned on the same level as me. Her face is close to mine. Her breath felt unnaturally cold to my skin.
"Well, well, well..." She whispered. "Now that we're alone..." In a tempting tone, she continued as her cold fingers crawled through my neck, slowly sliding down.
"...Why don't you show me what you got here..." She smiled.

8 184The Complete Alchemyst book 2
Continuation of the Alchemyst book 1 Sometimes to be the good guy, you gotta be the bad guy. This is a story about Louis, a guy that was just trying to get along before he got kidnapped and forced to play cook by a Cartel. He's no Heisenberg, however. Now that he's out of Prison and put a beat down on some of the folks that put him away, he's facing the real pressures of Life as a single-person superpower: Everyone wants to use him for their own purposes. Along the way he's met a few girls, some good, some bad. He's looking to save the world, establish an evil empire, secure a future for the people he considers his, and maybe finally kill that damned superhero that started it all. This is not 'the boys'. Not all superheroes or supervillains are evil, The 'super' world is expanding to include aliens, magic, and the children of ancient deities and legends. This is NOT a superhero genre deconstruction. Many heroes truly are heroes, and they don't all need to be destroyed to make a good story, but it does look into the dark side of superpowers and the unreasonable and often contradictory demands placed on exceptional people. Please note that this book has extremely graphic and sometimes gross fight scenes, heroes as villains, villains as heroes, opinionated and often politically incorrect characters, some graphic sex scenes, dad jokes, dirty jokes, realistic depictions of romance and flirting, bondage and dominance themes, and more than a few cuss words when they are really appropriate.
