《Welcome to the Dungeon》Chapter 45

They came in from behind, surprising me. They were dressed up and had on party hats. They all started hugging me, as we began the festivities. We began with the cake. It tasted delicious. After the cake, they gave me presents. From Bella, I received a necklace made with her spiritual beading. The effect of this piece of jewelry was that it projected an image of a serene, peaceful garden. It was similar to the illusion techniques. Aurora gave me a small, purple gem, which increased the level of my illusion techniques, as well. This allowed me to use >. This skill wasn't too powerful—they could only create small-scale illusions that were obvious. The illusions looked like projections, and they didn't stay around long after being created.
Kylee's gift increased my HE and DE by one hundred. Krystal's increased my HP by the same amount.
We then spent a few hours playing card games and talking. After the card games, we did some fun work. We discussed the made-up history of the world. To the people who would soon be born, they would revere all of us as gods, with my being the head god. It was almost true for me since I had all of the powers of a god while in the world. Their use of magic and skills was a gift bestowed by me, though I prohibited large scale fights and wars.
We set up an entire religion along with the history, spanning a few thousand years. It was difficult to think of the details, so we let some stay random. It made me think what writing a fiction novel must be like for the authors who have to constantly think of new information.
We actually spent a couple days with the history before I again left to return to my library search.
I was finally entering the ninth, or saint, level. Here, there were profound secrets stored. I gained more law comprehension for space: 30% natural, 20% eternal, and 5% divine. I also learned about void laws, which were considered greater laws. I never knew that the laws themselves had levels. Because it was a greater law, there were no natural laws. Instead, I learned 90% eternal and 20% divine—my highest divine law comprehension! I truly felt that I understood all of the secrets hidden throughout the mist.
In doing so, I gained a skill, void sensory sharing, which allowed me to gain and integrate sensory and energy information from anywhere the void touches. I also could confuse others and hide myself with the void fog.
I also found out about saint voidmasters. The height of the class were those who gained the variant class overlord saint voidmasters. They could go anywhere and do anything using the void. I also learned that there are different voids. The main void is usually seen, but it is possible to see smaller voids under an overlord's control.
Unfortunately, according to the records, there were no longer any living overlord saint voidmasters. The class doesn't make them immortal, and it is very rare for an immortal race to join their ranks.
In this sub-dimension, I thought the ninth floor, which contained everything about saint-level classes. I was surprised when a door leading to the tenth floor appeared. After I entered, I realized this was different from other sub-dimensions. If I tried, with my current comprehension of the laws, I could enter, create, and exit sub-dimensions; however, I could do nothing in this space.
Suddenly, the shiny gem that previously disappeared showed up again. I couldn’t see anything else on this floor, but the gem allowed me to see a small pedestal. Sitting atop it was a box with a black, translucent cover and golden sides. The gem went between the top and bottom before turning ninety degrees. I heard a pop as I walked over to see what was happening. Inside, it looked like there was a mini-black hole, swirling incessantly. The gem disappeared inside before sucking up the void black hole.

Suddenly, it exploded! The energy contained within entered my soul and reconfiguring itself there.
[class evolution complete: voidmaster à overlord saint voidmaster: wield the power of the void. Dark affinity 100%. Gained void resistance Lv 100N(Max), V 1 trillion]
Somehow, voidmaster was equal to my skill saint class. I had no idea what happened, but I now completely knew all of the eternal laws and even 75% of the divine. My wisdom, though capped, had, in parenthesis, +2130 as well. I knew everything about the void, and, if I could comprehend it, I could learn everything happening in any place the void touched. I had complete control of two distinct void energies.
The first of these was the main void energy, which, if anyone else achieved the same class, they would also do so. The other was my own, which I completely controlled. I could create my own void sources for this energy and had an infinite amount. The space within Persephone also became coated in this energy. For both, my emblem skill changed from mentioning manipulation to mentioning control.
Furthermore, I could give people void affinity and related classes. Unlike Glenn, I could even bestow the classes to beings who weren't at the correct level. Quickly, I gave the class and affinity to Bella and my daughters. They were all, now, arc voidmasters.
With my new complete control of both voids, as well as a few spawners setup in my spiritual world, I tried to leave this sub-dimension normally.
Unfortunately, once I tried to do so, I was pushed back. I continued to look through the area until I found an odd, circular formation.
Suddenly, my mind was assaulted with new information. Somehow, I could understand the knowledge—it contained some basic, advanced, and even legendary runes!
[level up! Basic rune techniques level five!]
I gained the ability to use the grimoire's runes after they were placed within it, as well as the ability to draw basic runes.
As for the runes, the single basic rune was alert void movement—it let me be alerted when the area bounded by these runes has a fluctuation in void energy. The advanced runes included void energy summon and never-ending void hole trap, which were self-explanatory. The other two, void door creation and connection, were used to link areas that were close together. The four legendary runes were void function, which, depending on how it is drawn as well as the time it was drawn, can have different functions. The second was cleanse area of void, which removes all traces of the void and its fog from the delineated area. The third rune cleared all runes, arrays, and formations from an area, space, or person: void persona cleanse. Finally, I learned absolute void soul sealing. The latter one I didn't think I'd be able to use, as the drawing process was so intricate.
I could finally successfully open the Vampire Basic Runes book.
The runes I learned were blood track, which tracks a person by their blood; blood gas, which causes bloody gas to appear; blood needle, a trap rune that, once sensing is done, sends out needles made of blood; blood seal, which requires specific blood to unseal.
After learning so much new information about runes, I spent two days within this place studying and practicing them.
Finally, I left the room by traveling through the void. Surprisingly, there was a time difference. I expected it to be March 23rd when I returned, but it was only March 19th. That was a four-day difference!
Glenn appeared glad to see that I was back.

"How do I gain entrance to the Council of the Void?" I asked.
"You, a measly voidmaster, wishes to enter the council? Even I, an emperor to not have the qualifications. Only the twelve saints are considered members. Rumor has it, though, that the ruler of the council is even more powerful," Glenn responded.
"Thanks for the tip. Please come with me to visit."
"You are not worthy."
"Says you."
"I can clearly see that you are a voidmaster. You are not even worthy of bathing their feet."
"We'll see about that."
"They are in a separate realm, and, within that realm, they are in a sub-dimensional space that is perfectly hidden. Even devils would be unable to find them."
"That sounds like a fun challenge. So, how can you find them?"
"Easy, my cloak is all I need."
"All I need is a wave of my hand."
At this, I waved my hand, and a portal appeared. I instructed the thick void fog around us to tie Glenn and bring him through along with me.
"How did you get here?" Glenn said angrily.
"Easy. I connected the two parts of the void and traveled along."
"But you shouldn't be able to do that between realms, especially without a skill or spell."
"I just have to control the void."
"Even saint voidmasters shouldn't be able to do that. Stop lying and tell me the truth."
I did, so, this time, I had to lie.
"I'm a saint, so it's only natural that I would find my way here."
"Preposterous. I have been training for hundreds, if not thousands, of billions of years to reach where I am now. Do you have any idea how high your comprehension of a great law must be to reach such a height? I barely grasp any of the divine law! I only know most of the eternal law, even after so much research. To think that you already mastered it, think of a better lie."
I began freezing his feet and making the void fog look like a dragon before splitting. I created a sub-dimension purely using the void and threw him into it. I repeatedly had the void prick him, to show him my powers.
Soon after, he was furious.
"How is this even remotely possible!" He roared.
"It was easy."
Suddenly, Glenn shot a sword towards me. If it weren't for the innate protection from the void, I would have never noticed it coming at me. It was that fast.
He got even angrier as he began to chant three magic spells at once. One was a swirling, blue vortex of fire. The other was a sort of binding chain. As for the third, it didn't get a chance to materialize. I had the void attack him too quickly. He was the aggressor. I only defended myself from his advances.
His final attack seemed to explode his entire body using the energy of the void, but I didn't let him finish it. I had the void energy surrounding him tie him up as I dragged him past the courtyard we were currently in and into the ornate castle entrance.
Using the void, I already knew the entire layout of this place, so it wasn't hard bringing Glenn to the dungeon. The void would soon cause is soul to completely dissipate, especially since I removed his void affinity.
The guards, while they didn't know who I was, stayed away. They could tell how profound my control and law comprehension were, both by the aura surrounding me and the fact I had Glenn, whom they all knew and respected, tied up. These guards weren't weak, either. I found their leader was also an emperor, and they were all grand arc and arc class.
I went to meet the guard captain, and after some forceful negotiation and show of force on my part, he finally agreed to call forth the council members. He also agreed that he would do so under emergency pretenses without telling them I was aiming for the head position that was rightfully mine. As an overlord, they would have no choice. Their powers over the void didn't stand any chance against mine.
I was informed shortly after that only ten could arrive quickly. The other two were tied up with other matters and would take at most a week to return.
After three hours, once the ten arrived and were bound by chains of void fog, I didn't feel like waiting anymore.
I immediately found them through the void and forcibly brought them back.
All twelve of them were immensely powerful, with each stat far exceeding 10,000.
"Hello, honorable council members. I am Roberto," I began. "Per the regulations, the thirteenth seat at your table is reserved for your leader, holder of the variant class overlord saint voidmaster."
"How do you know about this secret! We don't normally tell anyone," one member asked.
"And how did you lock of Glenn? We know of all voidmasters who'd be capable of doing such a feat, but we do not know of you," a second cried.
I had the void fog entangle them as I summoned Samantha and fed her the fog. She bathed in it, growing more powerful. Soon, she left the room and grew to the size of the entire castle, blacking out the few simulated stars shining above.
Once they had some time to let it sink in, I began again. "So, why don't we begin with each of your names?"
"I'm Mallory," the one who spoke first before began. "I'm the vice-commander, the most powerful one during the commander's absence."
"I'm Violet," the one who was perturbed regarding the issue with Glenn was the next to state her name.
The others did so as well. There were Vivian, Veronica, Virginia, Vanessa, Vincent, Victor, Vienna, Valentino, Vance, and Vienna.
I introduced myself as a nightmare vampire who, hopefully soon, would ascend to become a dusk vampire. I also showed off my powers over the void to instill upon them that I was, in fact, the variant they had been looking for.
Immediately after I spoke, the entire council took a knee and paid respects. From somewhere in the void, they brought forth treasures to greatly increase my stats and energies. They figured that I would need to be more powerful if I was to represent them on a larger scale, even with my class.
After that, we had to attend to the formalities. They spent the next five days teaching me the customs for the inauguration ceremony. It was to be held in a special world that was usually closed. Ancient overlords had detected powerful energy fluctuations coming from this world. They even had a devil take control of it so that it would be preserved. Through their manipulation, the devil even fused multiple world cores together, which is how it still stands today.
Invitations were sent out to an innumerable number of planets, alliances, and other bodies. I made sure, however, that the angel army was clueless. I couldn't reveal my dark identity to them.
When the day arrived, I used the void to check on the planet. There were enough people mingling to fill the entire earth three times over! I was lucky the planet was so big.
I didn't recognize most of them, with sizes ranging from gigantic to smaller than a speck of dust, but I knew each and everyone had power far surpassing mine. They were some of the biggest non-god powerhouses of the known universe! If it weren't for voidmasters ferrying them here, travel through such a distance would have been impossible.
I recognized most beings in the front row. Aaron, Orion, and Mia, the dusk vampires, were present, as was Charon. They appeared regal, dressed in their best for their occasion. I also learned they were some of the less than three-thousand who knew how to get here themselves, as the vampire world had odd interactions with the void. Sometimes, it connected; other times, it was completely separate.
Sitting next to them were Victoria and Kimberly. Along with their section, there were two mysterious shadows. Their authority was also level eight, but I couldn't tell who they were.
The fairy queen and Isaac sat with my family—even my mom and sister were here. My father was also located and quietly brought along to witness the ceremony. Unfortunately, talking with them, I learned at some point I had to give an official oration.
I brought my senses back to the other realm while the stage was brought in. On each side of it, there were twenty different beings. Their power was incredibly strong, even among those gathered here.
I secretly camouflaged the god's clothing using a method Balam taught me. Because of this, only the robe from the council was visible. This reminded me of something, so I had Furcas come and act out a scene. I thought it would be fun to watch.
Furcas entered on the top of the stage. "Why have I not received an invitation?" he bellowed. He may be weak compared to many of the people on the planet, but he was by no means the weakest there. Since he was also the weakest demon I had, it made sense.
Furcas brought along a legion of 66 demon knights along with him, and they soon showed up as his backup.
"Who are you?" Violet roared while entering the stage.
"How the hell do you not know who I am?" Furcas didn't back down. "I am Knight Furcas, a ruler of the Sixth Layer of Hell and a Hellfire Demon. Who dares not know my name. Behind me, I have but one of my twenty legions of loyal demons. If I request, I can also call upon other legions to assist me. Maybe a king's legion will be enough."
About half of those present looked scared and astonished, not believing he was here. Those from the dungeon seemed the most shocked. I expected I'd have to go to a meeting about this soon.
"We apologize, Knight Furcas," Mallory interjected. "We didn't realize you had returned. We hope you'll let us know when the kings return as well. If we had known, I would have personally brought you here, so, again, I apologize. As compensation, please sit in the front row. While I can't accommodate your entire legion, the commander can stay with you as well."
"Fine, young woman. I'll stop my anger here, and I won't order this place destroyed."
Furcas took a seat next to Bella before dismissing his legion. Only one other demon remained, and he sat at the edge of the row. Bella's mother was already briefed on the fact that Furcas was under my orders, so she was fine sitting so close to him.
It was now time for my grand entrance. I summoned the fog of the void while opening a void door. I purposefully made this door much larger than it needed to be.
Soon after, I slowly walked through. The void fog followed me wherever I went and slightly covered the feet of the crowds.
I soon arrived at the central podium and began the speech I had thought of only minutes ago.
"Friends, family, and honored guests, I thank you for coming to my coronation as the head of the Council of the Void. I hope to build strong relationships with each and every one of you to work together and fix whatever may befall us. Together, we can see it through. While I may not always be available, the other council members will gladly hear your concerns."
I continued discussing my policies and procedures, which basically boiled down to having the other council members deal with it like they did before. I'd step in if it was threatening anything larger than a galaxy cluster.
I know there's at least more than a few Quintillion galaxies in the whole universe, each contained in larger units called galaxy clusters, which are finally made into superclusters, each with around 100,000 galaxies. This meant tens of trillions of superclusters. I could visit them all easily.
When my speech ended, Mallory and the rest each put a drop of blood-like essence onto a scepter before she passed it to me. I accepted it, and the crystal in the center immediately shown a dark purple. It signified it allowed me to be its master, so I bound it by naming it Barron. It had its own intelligence and consciousness, but it was not nearly as advanced as Annie. This staff could channel any type of energy, making spells and skills five times more powerful. If I feed it some void fog, the power available jumps up by a factor of ten. It can also channel the fog and project it where I request.
Apparently, the same devil who made this world made the staff. It even contained world cores in its creation! The staff, if given enough void fog as energy, could easily split a small world in half. It could even rend time and space, once I gained enough law comprehension.
I liked my new staff, and I thought I may use it even more than Blackmail and Persuasion. As the ceremony dictated, I picked up the staff after the glowing died down.
I placed it behind me and called it forth. In addition to never breaking, I could also call it from anywhere. Annie even verified there were no tracking or other nefarious implants or tricks.
It appeared in my hand, and I raised it high. I spoke in the language of dragons, surprising a large number of the guests, and commanded the mana and void fog to ascend to the sky. I then used my mana manipulation to slightly change the flow, creating a piece of art. In the end, I lowered the staff, and, with it, the fog and mana followed, engraving the new pattern onto the barren ground beneath our feet.
A spiritual spring flowed through the cracks, even though it was of lesser quality than the one in my spiritual world. It cemented the engraving.
Everyone present would be in a lottery for a single drop. Of course, those in the first row didn't have to do so—they got one anyway. That's why many were envious of Furcas when Mallory said he could sit in the row. Even though Furcas could get as much as he needed, we agreed for him to use the drop to show off in Hell—they would appreciate it, and his specific layer will be strengthened against invasion, including that by animosity demons.
I greeted a few people and collected many more artifacts into the treasury. Finally, after four days, everyone had left. I consulted with the council on the gigantic fees for the stream. One way was an entire world core for fifty drops, which we doubted anyone would pay.
Suddenly, two figures came forth. Their power was incomparably more than those who were sitting on the stage before.
"We have two world cores, so we'd like to purchase one-hundred drops," they announced.
We all stood there with our mouths agape, unsure of how to respond. We didn't even know who these people were, let alone if their claim was valid.
It wouldn't be difficult to check, but it was way too much for anyone to pay. Not to mention, only Gods and Devils could actually create and use the cores. I somehow used one on my spiritual world, but I didn't know if I would actually be able to use another.
The actual content of the spring wasn't an issue. I could easily get about eighty drops currently. With Persephone, the remaining twenty weren't an issue.
It was more of an issue of who these two really were and what business they had with us.
Were they friends or foes?

The Painter: A fantasy psych thriller and epic
*** June 21th Update ***- New chapters are being posted! I haven't figured out a schedule yet, but stay tuned!- Thank you to everyone who has read and reviewed, I'm happy to say The Painter is in the top 200 best-rated fictions. - Readers of The Painter have suggested reading through Chapter 6 before making a decision on this book.- The story takes place in the Lootverse, but you don't need a canonical understanding to appreciate the storyFinally, a warning or reader beware: This is not an action novel (despite the coming fight scene) but a slow-burn psychological thriller of sorts. For a time, the Painter's life was simple. He lived in the small town of Kinon (called Kinney by locals) with his wife, Kahriah and his son, Thesdon. The story begins with him alone and unable to travel more than a few hundred miles from his home. For 5 years he tried to chart his prison until one day a letter appears with a mysterious commission that will see him test his condition and his boundary. Set roughly 50 years before the impending end of days (from Loot canon), The Painter is a story about loss, grit, and exploration of a seemingly normal man in a world of magic and monsters. The Painter will follow the man on his adventure to restore his family, uncover his commissioners and discover the nature of his condition. Loot is the decentralized, global, community built fantasy world based on Dom Hoffman's art/tech experiment: Loot. Fun fact: The cover of our book is painted by the artist, who the MC is loosely based on and the same person painting the Banners (digitally) IRL for an art/worldbuilding project.
8 136Is It Too Late To Move My Lair?
A legendary dragon... It has been told in the stories for hundreds of years. Some say it keeps a mountain of treasure in its cave, some say it is a vicious beast, some say it protects the village nearby, some claim it can grant their wishes, and some just think it's nothing more than a fairytale. He is not. The dragon is very real, although he isn't bothered by what people think of him in the slightest. He also doesn't have a grand treasure, nor does he grant wishes, like a magical genie. He is not interested in eating humans either. And as for protecting them… well. This is the story of the time before the legends, how they came to life and a dragon in the quest of his snooze. In a nutshell, this is a simple, light-hearted story with a dragon in it. What I have in mind is a relatively short one compared to most of the works on this site, but we'll see where it goes. This is my first attempt at writing something like this, so please be patient and kind in pointing out mistakes. As for the posting schedule... let's say it will be sporadic. Hope you enjoy reading, as much as I do while writing it… THE STORY IS NOT DROPPED, JUST SLOW ON THE UPDATES. Cover art by Nane, aka me. (Cross-posted on Scribble Hub.)
