《Catastrophe Teacher》Chapter 2: Terrifying Teacher

What did he say? Student? He's a professor at the academy?!
Dante gawked at the figure in front of him who seems so much more massive due to his show of power. Giles looked at Dante with a neutral face until he realizes, he just found his reason for being late.
"Why are you outside of school? God, students are lazy nowadays."
Yeah right, Giles. You weren't late at all. At least now, you have a reason to tell the dean. It was to fetch a delinquent student.
"Uh..."
Dante's brash attitude suddenly disappeared. He's never seen this type of power before, albeit he's never been in any actual danger due to being brought up in a wealthy family.
Are all the professors in that academy this strong?
No, it wasn't possible.
Dante remembered being introduced to one of the professors. They had a strong will and they surpassed most people but none of them showed overt power like this...
Have I been underestimating them?
Dante calms down and stares at Giles. He uses his own will to try and sense Giles' will.
What?!
"So are you going to explain yourself or are you going to keep gawking? No respect at all!"
Giles is pretending to be strict. The ground around him starts to crack and move ever so slightly.
This show of power should be enough to shock this kid.
When Dante doesn't respond, Giles starts to think that maybe this student is retarded.
Before Giles could continue his pressuring, he senses the movement of a dozen other people.
Great, the defiants are here.
Giles walks forward, startling Dante.
"Kid, if you aren't gonna talk why you're out here, I'll just have to carry you. We're both going to be late and I can't be caught here by some defiants."
"What? WHAAAAAA-"
Dante suddenly screams as Giles effortlessly lifts his body.
Dante's vision suddenly blurs and the colors of the city mix as Giles moves with supersonic speeds.
There were currently two individuals in front of Calloren Academy's entrance.
One of these individuals is currently being scolded and reprimanded.
"You mean to tell me, that a random student managed to infuse enough will in their body to jump up the 10-meter wall?! AND NOBODY STOPPED HIM!?"
A female officer was currently screaming at a male guard.
"Ye-yes ma'am!"
Despite the terrifying officer in front of him, guard Yatt knew it was wiser to respond than to stay quiet.
"Did you at least recognize or find out who it was?!"
Guard Yatt has been the gatekeeper of Calloren Academy for only a year now and it's uncommon for students, except for that damned Catastrophe class, to jump up and cross the wall.
Damn monsters. I couldn't make that jump if I was the same age. Tsk... How can they have that much will??
When the entrance exams were happening, Guard Yatt was one of the people tasked to patrol and guard the area. He saw how monstrous the students are at the Catastrophe class. While most of them were weaker than him, it was their unique powers that stood out.
"Yes, ma'am! The student I saw had an unmistakable white hair!"

The woman sighs and angrily bunches up her hands into fists.
"A member of the Zeiss family then?"
At that moment, guard Yatt thought that maybe the kid just dyed their hair but he nods to ensure that Officer Ava doesn't kill him for making another mistake.
"Yes, ma'am! If I recall, there are only a few students with white hair and this student had full-blown white hair. Like snow! Extremely white like my skin when I'm watching a movie, ma'am!"
Ava was internally screeching. A student escaped on the first day.
What would the other schools think?!
"Umm guys? Can you open the gate?"
Before Ava could continue berating the poor guard, a familiar man appeared in front of them while carrying an unconscious student. Guard Yatt's eyes widen as he sees Giles carrying the student that escaped.
"Ah! That's the student who escaped ma'am!"
Ava turns around and looks at the newly arrived person. She frowns when she realizes who it was.
Oh, it's this dolt...
"Professor Ivor! You're late! What type of teacher is late on the first day!"
Giles was preparing to explain himself but he couldn't help but study the head officer of Calloren Academy.
Head Officer Ava. Quite powerful and refined... and scary...
Giles couldn't help but think of the woman in front of him, after all, she's one of the people who can actively scold him for any mistakes he makes. She had the authority to do so.
Ava has short red hair and fiery red eyes. Her short height is easily compensated by her physique but her impressive appearance pales in comparison compared to her power. She wouldn't have been promoted to her rank without any reason.
"Professor! Are you listening to me?!"
Giles sighs and replies.
"Yes, I am. I actually have a good reason as to why I'm late."
Ava crosses her arms. She glares at Giles with murder in her eyes.
"I'm waiting."
Guard Yatt, noticing that Ava is busy with Giles, quietly excuses himself. Giles was good to him but Ava was just too scary to deal with.
Sorry my dude, I gotta escape being scolded.
Giles glares at Yatt's back who is leaving him to Ava. When guard Yatt is gone from his vision, Giles looks back at the beautiful and terrifying officer staring at him with very murderous eyes.
"I saw this kid go out and I had to fetch him."
Ava narrows her eyes. She crosses her arms and taps her foot on the floor. Giles swallows the lump in his throat. She then speaks with an angry voice.
"So you mean to tell me, you've been here at 8:00 AM, the time needed for a professor to clock in, and in your class, then you saw your student exit the academy, so you followed them? And it took you..."
Ava looks at her watch.
"... around 30 minutes to get him? A student that is, according to records, at least a thousand times weaker than you?"
Giles covers his mouth looking wronged.
"Well if you put it that way, it seems like I'm lying."
Ava sighs and rubs her forehead.

"It's the first day of classes and I've already got idiots to deal with. Go in Ivor, I'll write you up a penalty later."
Giles sheepishly nods and goes in while carrying the unconscious Dante.
"Oh, I almost forgot. Ava?"
"Yeah?"
"If some defiants come around to ask questions, tell them it's not me."
Ava's eyes goes wide.
"What?"
"Thanks! See you later!"
Giles quickly enters the school, leaving Ava speechless.
Breathe... Breathe... It's going to be okay... The teacher isn't terrifying...
The Catastrophe classroom currently has 21 students, excluding Dante, totaling an amount of 22 if Dante was present. One of these poor students is a young girl, named Iza.
Iza, unlike most members of the Catastrophe classroom, has a weak will rating. She's been inducted to the Catastrophe classroom due to her unique power and she's been dreading it ever since.
The other classes say that the teacher of this class is... a monster.
She recalls the rumors spread around by other classes.
Monster.
Sexual Harassment.
Strict.
Bully.
Expeller.
Iza's face pales as she remembers the things she heard about the catastrophe class.
She is a naive girl and while the school thinks of this class as monstrous, people definitely exaggerated and tricked poor Iza.
"Hey."
Iza almost jumps from her seat as her seatmate calls to her.
"Ye-yes?"
Iza turns to her right side and sees one of her classmates looking at her.
"Sorry to bother you but you're tensing me out. Your will is leaking."
Iza looks at her desk and notices that its will sensor is beeping red. She calms down and retracts her will. The beeper's light disappears.
"Sorry..."
Iza apologizes to the young man beside her.
"No sweat."
The two students return to their normal state but Iza finally had the chance to talk to someone. If she doesn't take advantage of this, she might not be able to make any friends.
While Iza is not an awkward person, she has problems with starting conversations and approaching people.
New class, new me!
"Ah hello. I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Iza. Iza Sarano."
Iza calls out to the guy who told her about her leaking will. She extends her hand as a greeting.
The guy looks at the hand and shakes his head.
"Nah, I'm good."
Before Iza is saddened, the guy continues.
"I still don't have control over my unique power. If you have a weak will, I might freeze your hand off."
Iza's face lightens up.
"Yeah, it's dangerous if we can't control our powers."
The guy agrees and then introduces himself.
"I'm August Derrick. Just call me Gus."
Iza smiles as she finds the nickname Gus adorable.
"Hey Gus, you don't think the rumors of the teacher here are true right?"
Gus chuckles.
"I heard them myself and admittedly, I'm not sure. If our classmates are the basis of our teacher, then the rumors might be true. Have you heard of what our other classmates can do?"
Iza shakes her head.
Gus smiles and quietly moves his desk so they can be a bit closer.
Iza does the same so they're close.
He points at a person who's sitting at the rightmost corner of the seating arrangement.
"That person is Suzaku, his birth name is Michael."
Iza raises an eyebrow.
"Why Suzaku? That's a weird name."
"He claims to come from another world and he's been put in Michael's recently deceased body when he died in his world."
"That doesn't... seem possible"
Iza is obviously skeptical.
"Yeah I didn't believe it at first but he's been tested and his will origin is completely different from what it was before Michael's supposed death. It's the first time in history something like that has happened. He was supposed to be tested on for his whole life but Dr. Elcet showed up and took him in. He was enrolled in this class so he could learn more about the world."
Iza looks at Suzaku with a bit of amazement.
"Isn't he scared?"
"I'm sure he is but he tries to be strong."
Gus points at a female that's in the center front of the class.
"That girl is Selena Woreset."
Iza nods, interested in learning about another girl.
"Selena's will rating is pretty average. She's got a lower one than mine but her unique power is a rarity. When she fights someone, her unique power starts to become active. At first, nothing happens but the longer she participates in a fight, she'll slowly transform as she gains more physical strength."
Iza's eyes shine in awe.
That sounds so cool!
Curious about Selena, Iza asks Gus a question.
"So, her actual will doesn't change."
Gus answers in the affirmative.
"No, her will rating stays the same, but I've heard she can stalemate a professor if the battle lasts for more than 1 hour."
That amazes Iza even more.
"Wow, that means her physical strength by then is absurd."
Gus nods.
"See, everyone here is an insane freak of nature in one way or another."
Iza's mood lightens as she finds that she might be in a crowd she can relate with.
"You think you can face the teacher now?"
Iza smiles and nods.
"Yeah, I thin-"
The door to the class is suddenly opened as Giles enters.
Iza looks at the front and she immediately pales.
Giles is carrying the unconscious body of Dante.
He suddenly drops him on the nearest empty chair, startling some of his classmates.
"Good morning everyone. Sorry, I'm late. I had to fetch your poor and unfortunate classmate."
Everyone looks at Dante who is unconscious and foaming at the mouth.
"Don't worry, he is tough as he has a high will rating. He isn't dead."
When everyone is now staring at Giles, he smiles and takes a marker from his desk.
"Now that I'm here and everyone is here, time to introduce myself."
He goes to the whiteboard and quickly writes his name.
'Giles Ivor'
Giles gives the class a sharp and ominous smile.
"Class, I'm Giles Ivor and I'm this year's Catastrophe class teacher. Nice to meet all of you."
The whole classroom is silent.
Nailed it.

2nd Chance
It's my first time writing a story so you might spot a lot of amateur mistakes but feel free to criticize my writing as much as you like. Anyways, to give you a quick idea of what the story is all about, the original title of this novel was supposed to be "The Yankee in Another World" but when I thought about writing that in the cover I immediately thought 'HELL NAW' and went with a different one and I feel like the new title captures the essence of this story more. because although it's categorized as an Isekai, the story is more focused on redemption rather than the Isekai fantasy. Hopefully, I'll be able to update this synopsis once I thought of one.
