Ron llegó a la cubierta del barco medio desnudo, pero la preocupación de que algo le esté pasando a su viejo amigo lo inhibió de su vergüenza.
En camino se cruzó con los muchachos de las guardias nocturnas, los cuales sin importarles las apariencias del primer oficial, se emocionaron al verlo pensando que finalmente había terminado la guardia.
"Que mierda hacen deteniéndose, sigan vigilando que aún falta bastante!!" Ron de un grito, mató las expectativas de estos pobres marinos.
Ron viendo a todos concentrados en su tarea, procedió con su caminata hacia el área del timón, aunque cada vez se lo notaba más apurado como si temiera que algo malo hubiera pasado con el timonel.
Al subir y notar al timonel fumando con tranquilidad, su preocupación desapareció.
"¿Todo bien ,Paulo?" Preguntó Ron a su viejo amigo
Viendo a Ron en calzones con las dos cajas en sus manos, el timonel rápidamente ató los cabos de lo que le había ocurrido a los pobres grumetes y para ahorrar conversaciones sin sentido simplemente dijo:
"Se las di yo ,Ron"
Ron al escuchar esas palabras miró a su amigo con sospecha, algo tenía que andar mal con este viejo, él sabía que había mantenido estas cajas con él prácticamente desde el día que se conocieron en este barco.
"Porque se las disteis a los dos novatos?" Preguntó Ron, tratando de buscar pistas en la conversación, intentando notar si su amigo estaba bajo un estado anormal.
"Ya no me servían" Contestó fríamente Paulo mientras calaba.
"Acaso antes te servían? Para que guardarlas tanto tiempo, si de verdad no te importaran" Contestó Ron con bronca, al darse cuenta de que sus sospechas eran correctas y algo andaba mal en el timonel"
"Son solo un par de pistolas oxidadas" Dijo Paulo "Antes no quería aceptar ese hecho…"

"Y en mis manos ya no son útiles, solo soy un viejo timonel que ya no reúne los requisitos para portar esas pistolas... así que no me sirven de nada"
"¡Son los restos de tus hijas!" Grito Ron con desaprobación
"Como mierda quieres que crea, que es normal que un padre le dé los restos de sus hijas a un par de desconocidos, que conoció en un viaje!!"
"No son mis hijas, mis hijas están muertas" Dijo Paulo algo irritado "Son solo un par de pistolas que guarde pensando que de verdad tenían alguna conexión con ellas"
"Los dos grumetes necesitaban un arma …"
"Perfecto, ahí tienen un par de armas encantadas"
"Deja que los chicos disfruten esas pistolas, si total van a estar muertos en una semana o dos..."
Al escuchar la última frase la cara de Ron cambió de ira a miedo y volvió para ver si alguno de los marineros en la cubierta había escuchado la conversación.
Por suerte todos los muchachos en la cubierta estaban doblemente concentrados en su tarea de vigilancia, gracias al grito que les había dado antes de subir al timón.
