the pain of losing a completed chapter is hard

Saldin POV and third person view

I exited Dmers blacksmith shop and was on my way back to the inn before it gets dark Nyorin would kill me if I miss dinner. ( Due to the reason of me being the one cooking....)

Klevine, who is Dmers apprentice, told me a route where it reaches my inn without the concern of a crowded place.

As I was walking through the route, I heard a scream of a girl coming from an alley not so far from me.

I reached the place where the screaming is coming from and saw the blind girl I met earlier was there getting grasped at her hands by what seems to be a guard and behind him was two more guards.

The thing that flicker the flame inside me was when the guard tried to check inside the blind girls clothes.

My heart felt a eerie sensation as a certain memory which I wish to forget flashes through my mind by witnessing this scene.

I felt hate and anger swell up through my coursing veins.

'I'm not going to idle by and watch the similar event foretold again as' - Me in a knights voice

Without me noticing, I let out a strong pressure which made the three guards including the blind girl unable to move.

( martial technique: Empower )

They noticed my presence and was gazing upon me.

I don't have much time until 'Empower' runs out as it lasts only a maximum amount of one minute.

I pulled out my long sword out of the sheath which was placed beside my belt on right side and tightly fixed with leather straps.

As I am left handed, I place the sword sheath on my right.

Bringing my sword on my eye level while being in front of me as I imagine it covered with a majestic fiery flame.

The point of the sword is then made to face the sky as I slowly made my hands without touching it from the hilt to the point. ( elemental enchanting basic tier 2: fire enchanting )

Elemental enchanting causes the material of the enchanting to not be able to melt.

The sword then glows slightly and after a brink of moment made it engulf by a wild light crimson fire.

Third Person View:

All three guards were powerless as they couldn't move and watch the young man pulls out a sword and makes it engulf of fire.

The pressure vanished and made the three standing guards to be able to move again.

The guard who was grasping the blind girl, let go of her as he prepares to out his short sword.

Before he could pull out his short sword, he was struck by a leaping vertical strike from shoulder to knee by the young man.

Due to the reason was when the pressure disappeared, the young man was already running towards the guard.

Usually blood would have spilled from that type of slash but it didn't as they were hardened by the immense heat of the sword.

The skin though was burnt to the color ash black and had a nauseous smell which reeks around.

While feeling a glimpse pain of hell, the guard agonizes loudly from the burning sensation but was immediately silenced from the second slash of the young man.

The young sliced horizontally at the agonizing guards neck, causing a head dropping down to the ground with a inhumane expression.

Then the young mans gaze averts towards the remaining two fools who has a cursed faith from meeting this young devil man.

They were shivering as they pull out their weapons and has eyes of anxiety from looking at their decapitated acquaintance.

The left guard pulled out his sword and shield while the right guard has two short daggers in each hand.

As the shield guard takes one step, he was pierced in the mouth by the thrown sword from the young man.

It caused his head to burn in fire making him have a early greeting to the death god.

The body succumbs to the ground lying and by that time the enchantment of the sword disappears.

The young man was now defenceless and by this assumption, the duel daggered guard charges at the unarmed person.

With elegance the young man moves to the left while putting up his feet causing the man who was going to stab him gets unbalanced as he trips and fells to the ground making him drop his daggers.

Saladin POV:

The guard tripped from my leg and was now in the ground.

I pick up one of his knife and stabbed his feet making sure he will not run.

I then pulled out my sword from the head of the guard who I killed just recently.

While returning to the screaming and agonizing man, the blind girl was trying to fix her hair. ( she doesn't care of what is happening around her? )

I was about to cut the neck of the agonizing man until I was called from the blind girl to stop.

The agonizing guard then made a grin, telling me he expected the girl to help him as it's just brutal.

The blind girl patted my right shoulder once and smiled at me and starts chanting towards the agonizing man.

"Oh goddess of frost, please hear thee prayers and allow thee to smite this a cursed person by your power" - blind person

The grin of the agonizing man turned to sorrow, then gets impaled by a large ice spike in the forehead.

I was shocked on what the girl did.

'the hell woman!, don't go taking kills for no apparent reason than revenge' - My thoughts

She then looks at me and says

"We met and you helped me again" - Blind girl

"It's not of a big town after all" - Me

"I don't have anything to pay you back..."

"No worries, I don't accept anything"

"that's no good as you saved me and helped me before"

"Seriously I don't need anything"

She looks at me with good amount of time then falls down to the ground in her knees and says

"I give up on life" - blind girl

"Why!?" - Me

she looks at me and uncovers her blind fold revealing her burnt right eye and her tear falling without shine left eye.

"I don't want to agonize anymore and I was hoping you will take me in as a servant or maid..." - blind girl

I then pulled her hands making her back into her feet.

then I said to her

"Are you hungry?"

She nods as she holds her stomach with both of her hands with her pouting lips.

'That's so adorable!' - My thoughts

We visited a tavern and was now sitting on two chairs and in between us was a table.

I then told her

"Order as much as you like" - Me

She then looks at me with a large smiling face with her left eye opened wide in happiness.

"R-really?" - Blind girl

"Yup" - Me

Now that she uncovered her blind fold, I can get a good look at her face.

Her face has a beautiful below medium sized nose, light green blurry eyes, cheeks with some taints of red in them and lips as perfect as any woman in her prime age should be.

Her hair was short, slight spiky with smooth and black colored, she has a large bang in front her face causing to block some of her burnt eye.

She pressed her index finger on her lips as she noticed my sight being locked towards her and she then says with a slight grin

"You interested in me?" - Blind girl

"Not so much but I have to say you are a beauty" - Me

'I can imagine Kioni and Nyorin hanging my neck if they found out what I'm saying right now' -My thoughts

Her face turned slightly red and then she says

"beauty?, but I have a horrible burnt right eye..." - blind girl

"Doesn't matter about that" - me

"Is that so?..." - blind girl

"Oh, I forgot to introduce myself, my name is Saladin Valirus and what is yours?" - Me

"My name is Laura..." - Laura

"Don't have a second name?" - Me

"Nope..." - Laura

We ate our meals and while we were, I was looking at the starving Laura nimble everything she sees.

After we were done eating, Laura gave a huge sigh of relief as she feels her stomach.

"It's been a while since I last ate and became full" - Laura

I noticed it's already turning dusk

"I need to go soon" - Me

"Is that so..." - Laura

I noticed her expression grew sad.

Her clothes were torn and had a lot of mess.

I then decided upon something.

"Before I go, were going to a shop" - Me

"for what reason?"

"I'll tell you when we get there"

We reached the nearest clothe shop and entered.

Before we enter, Laura noticed the cloth banner and was pulling my behind shirt and saying you don't have to go that far for me.

I refused what she said and forced her inside.

I asked the vendor of the shop to get the best suited clothes for her.

The clothes cost to me most of my savings but I didn't care.

Me and the vendor packed the clothes she newly bought and placed it in a bag pack for her to carry.

After that I brought her to our inn for her to get properly bathed which she refused as I'm doing something that she can never repay already.

'Good thing master and Nyorin is out training as they will murder me bringing a girl in' - My thoughts

Laura took a bath and was fully cleansed. ( I usually would peak at her bath at this time..., I don't know what happened to me ever since I escaped the mines )

She wore the clothes I newly bought her.

It was a one pieced black dress with rose patterned tailored in it beautifully, It was sleeveless and the skirt is about below knee length, behind the dress was a collection of zigzag threads and ends from the middle of her back to the top which ends with a small red colored ribbon.

The tailor vendor offered some accessories with the outfit which was a hematite ( black shiny gem ) necklace and ring.

The necklace was worn and caused her neckline to be beyond words and her ring causes her to have a noble atmosphere.

'She really is beautiful' - My thoughts

She looked at a mirror and was in teary eyes, her gaze then averts towards me and hugs me.

"Thank you, thank you and thank you really so much, you really are a kind person while being so cool killing those evil doers" - Laura

She let go of me and says while having a sad expression

"I have nothing to offer you is haunting me as it makes my heart feel pain..." - Laura

I smiled then said

"You have nothing to do?" - Me

"No..." - Laura

"Then be my companion on my adventures and that is enough to repay everything" - Me

"...!, that is all?"
