《MARVEL FANFIC: UMBRA》CHAPTER 010

"Come at me Hauras." The Hero of Olympus goaded to the Fallen Angel as he took his battle stance.
And come he did! But with a damn barrage of lightning bullets! So Umbra could do nothing but evade while Hauras is smirking.
"Dance for me! Gahaha! You make my job easy!" The Fallen Angel laughed as he targetted Umbra and Carter who just reformed his skull.
"That was a little bit rude. You just don't bash someone's skull and get away with it." The Phantom Rider stated as he sent a barrage of bullets of his own using his Shotgun.
Carter then conjured a lasso and was able to latch it unto the arm of Hauras. He then pulled himself over and flew like an arrow straight to the Fallen Angel.
The Phantom Rider arrived infront of Hauras and sent a knee straight to the chin of his opponent. Hauras was dazed for a few seconds before recovering a sending a right hook directly to the skull of Carter.
As he landed his punch, Hauras then grabbed the leg of Carter Slade and started slamming him left and right to the ground creating craters around him.
*Damn! I forgot to make a weapon out of [Blessed Silver].* Umbra finally though as he was dealing minor damage to his opponent. So he pulled out [AVALON] and took out a silver sword. He then morphed it to become a pair of knuckle knives.
After making his weapon, Umbra immediately springed into action and jumped straight to Hauras. Landing a solid blow to the ribcage *crack* after landing a solid blow, he then dragged the blade age from the rib area down into Hauras' stomach. Leaving a deep gash that made Hauras feel dread so he threw the Phantom Rider directly to Umbra as he leapt out of danger.
Umbra catched the Phantom Rider then tossed him back to Hauras who was still using his lightning magic to cauterize it to prevent himself from bleeding out.
As an experience combatant, the Phantom Rider seamlessly went from defense to offence in a drop off a hat. With a laugh, he conjured a hellfire machete and began slashing the Fallen Angel. Numerous scars appeared on the skin of Hauras due to the fact that each cut made by the machete gets seared by hellfire immediately.

While Hauras was in the defensive position, Umbra hoped in to join the fight harmonizing with the Phantom Rider smoothly withoit hindering the attacks of his comrade.
The Fallen Angel had no choice but to fight using a sword which was honed throughout the years when he was still in heaven. Although it has been a long time since his Fall from heaven, his sword skills are still as deadly.
The trio was stuck in the deadlock since no one was willing go out of rhythm. If any one of them stopped for a second, it would create a chance for a deadly attack to Hauras or a chance for Hauras to create space.
"Why do you two even hinder the plan of Black Heart? Haven't you already seen the damage that these human beings done to the beautiful creations of God?" Hauras asked while leaning back sligthly to avoid a horizontal slash from the Phantom Rider.
"Tell me something that I don't know. Humans are like that and I don't expect them changing any time soon." Umbra said nonchalantly as he tried to connect a right hook to the side of Hauras however the Fallen Angel was able to block it with his sword.
"Yeah. I saw that too well. They commit numerous sins and just act as if everything was okay. They pull each other down to just reach their goals. I saw numerous atrocities the years of using the [Penance Stare]. Frankly, I am disgusted to some humans." The Phantom Rider said calmly as he slashed the Fallen Angel's arm.
"SEE! They are fucking destructive and sinful beings that should be eradicated! Why don't you join our cause! Why don't we stop this farce and instead work together to make a batter future for the creations of God. Work with us and we shall rule the Earth" Hauras stated like a hawker trying to sell his goods.
"Well, there is a flaw in that reasoning. Which is why I have to decline. I am a human myself and I don't want to end my own race. Secondly, it is true that I hate human beings but not all of them. They have the capacity to be good. You don't burn the whole tree just because a few fruits isn't up to your liking." The Phantom Rider reasoned which made the Fallen Angel frown

"Yeah, I have to also decline that. I mean I already rule a bunch of people and it is a pain in the ass. I am a literal Demi-God with a whole nation, have you seen Canada and New Olympus? Yeah, it's great right? I rule that place and made it as it is right now. I am telling you it took me years before it became as it is. As for the humans that I witnessed commiting unacceptable or immoral actiond, I already sent their souls to Hades." Umbra expositioned as he sent a barrage of attacks to Hauras
"Ofcourse a son of a Pagan God would refuse this glorious opportunity to cleanse the world. You sinful beings claiming to be Gods while also commiting atrocious acts." Hauras said with hate as he defend against his opponents and delivered a slash to the armor of Umbra.
[BOOOOOM!] a loud noise resounded from the direction of the city which startled Umbra. The Phantom Rider and Hauras also stopped before the Fallen Angel started to laugh hysterically.
"That's my cue to leave. My job here is over for the moment. I will remember you Pagan Demigod, I will wipe your kind and these humans off from this beautiful world!" Hauras said with a grin before charging up lightning to form a coating around him before and unleashing it to both the Phantom Rider and Umbra which pushed the two backwards. The Fallen Angel would then vanish in a bolt of lightning headed to an unknown direction.
*Looks like you have been played, Umbra.* The symbiote finally spoke telepathically to Umbra. She then showed Umbra a satelitte image of the city and som videos of a group of individuals fighting a flying individual sending fireballs to the Ghost Rider.
"Fuck! I had been way too complacent!" The Hero of Olympus cursed as he was caught too much in his lust for battle that he forgot the possiblity of Hauras being a diversion made by Black Heart.
"The Myrmidons made it in time! I just hope that there are on injuries and no vasualties." Umbra sighed as he went to Carter to check the Phantom Rider.
"What is the Myrmidons the you spoke off?" The Phanton Rider asked as he heard the sigh of the Hero of Olympus while conjuring a brand new Hell Horse
"Myrmidon is an army that I made in the honor of the ancient greek army led by Achiles. It is an Army that is based on New Olympus up there in Canada." Umbra explained as he hopped on the back of Carter's Hell Horse. "Unfortunately, the Myrmidons right now isn't as strong as it used to be. Nowadays they are just trained humans without any enhancement. Damn it! I should've called for some Argonauts." The Hero said with melancholy as he remember the former glory of his Myrmidons throughout the years that he was in the mortal realm and how it suffered a huge blow.
"Let me guess, your elite squad?" Carter guessed as he heard the regret in Umbra's voice
"Yup. If you were younger and is still willing to fight, I would've tried to recruit you to my side. Speaking of Argonauts, I am going to be recruiting Johny Blaze to be a member of Argonaut. What's your take on that?" Umbra asked the opinion of the veteran Spirit of Vengeance
"Frankly, I support the New Olympus since it actually have evidences that show how beneficial it is to humanity. I watch the news and the only bad things that they kept of bringing up is the ancient roots of your religion and the fact that you own many successful companies. In my opinion it would surely benefit Johny if he joined your squadron, that is if you don't choke him up with strict rules." Carter stated his opinion based on his experience
"Well, Argonauts are generally in a free reign. They can do whatever they want as long as it doesn't break any laws, but if I called for them, they should answer it without any complaints. I treat them as an Elite Force that are called upon if their abilities are needed." Umbra said as he pulled out a bottle of Jack Daniels and began drinking straight from the bottle while riding a Hell Horse

It could be dropped anytime and there might be random hiatus inbound. This fiction is basically a first draft~ish.(?) So please pardon my two-dimensional characters or my shitty grammar or poor use of descriptive words in this fiction. Doing this purely for fun and it's going to stay that way. Let's take this step by step alright? [There isn't really a set in stone plot drafted so it might flop after a bunch of chapters lmao] Reviews with constructive criticism are appreciated, I will try my best to improve as we go along.

Femira spent her life stealing scraps and looting corpses just to survive another day. When she stumbles upon the chance to steal another's identity, she thinks she's found the ticket to an easy life. But she soon finds the glamour of the runewielder's hall hides as much peril as the bloodslick streets. Can she steal the greatest prize of all, the knowledge to reshape the earth, and make it out alive? Abandoned by his abusive father at the far reaches of the world, Daegan may not have the powers of his ancestors but he refuses to die in banishment. Will he make it back home in time to prevent a brewing war? ------------------- This is a gritty drama-driven, rambling tale that presents mysteries early on that the characters work to unravel throughout the story. It swings between action, drama, and sometimes some darker comedy. Warning: A whole lot of profanity, alcohol, drugs, implied violence, actual violence and mega-violence—the kind that involves knives sliding into eye sockets and brains spilling onto floors—the usual stuff, scenes of intimacy, mercenaries, pirates, lots of moral ambiguity, including a wizard that likes to make tea with the heat sucked from his victim's bodies and a heap of world-ending monsters ready to eat people. _______________ Expectations: Updates every Monday and Thursday. Chapters will be between 2,000 and 5,000 words. I'm Irish and write in "Irish English" which is to say that I don't use much of the letter "z"

Free Your Mind
A journey through the mind can be a mixture of the good, the bad, the pure, and the evil. Free Your Mind is a collection of poems and short stories that I've written over the years. As of now, this book is still in progress, but I've planned to release at least 25 to 30 chapters minimum for Free Your Mind. Hopefully you enjoy reading through the works already published for this book, and I hope you'll stick around for what's to come in the future. If you have any comments, ideas, critiques, etc. please let me know! I'm always open to what people have to say about my work. Free Your Mind is a way for me to dabble into releasing my writings for the public to read. And hopefully, if all goes decent with this book, I'll continue to upload different works alongside this. Note: Currently the cover work for Free Your Mind isn't mine. I plan to upload an original design once I've completed the chapters for this book.

Campaign: A Project Starfarer Sidestory
This novel’s lore, story and characters are entirely fictitious. Certain long-standing countries, institutions, organizations, agencies, and public offices are mentioned, but their histories and the characters involved are wholly imaginary. "What will you do with your freedom?"Growing up in a meritocracy, infamous for being lawless, Jordan Astros had been repeatedly asked this question, since times unmemorable. In a society where one's accomplishments and skills were tallied and ranked in order to determine one's standard of living however, Jordan quickly grew to understand that 'freedom,' was a reward earned by accumulating Merit. And so, after his 17th birthday, Jordan departed his Clan's habitat in orbit of Europa to embark on his century-long journey to rise from E-Ranker to S-Rank. And spread his name throughout the Galilean Powers. *** Campaign is a sidestory within its NanoPunk parent series, Project Starfarer. (Yet to be published. Be on the lookout for it!) In which the first transhuman known to humanity, the Starfarer, invokes a plan to seed terrestrial life throughout the galaxy. Campaign takes place around the middle of that timeline and explores the life of a key figure in that universe, Jordan Astros. And explores one of four great nations thriving in the Solar System during that time. A Meritocracy that spans Jupiter and its 79 moons, The Galilean Powers. What you'll find in Campaign: Brutal melee combat in airless and pressurized low gravity environments. A technology based progression system influenced by merit and accomplishments; using tech that's theoretically possible to exist in the near-future. An exploratory perspective of the dozens of Galilean societies, or 'Powers,' from Jordans; and sometimes others', POV. What you wont find: Romance. Harems. An MC who receives shortcuts, handouts, learns things unnaturally fast or has OP plot armor. Jordan is not a special individual. Jordan is not OP and he likely never will be. He's no different than any other citizen in the Galilean Powers and will certainly face as many defeats as he does wins. He'll suffer losses and grow as an individual, while the Powers evolves around him as well. This is semi-hard sci-fi/NanoPunk and takes place in a fictional version of our future solar system. Centered around technology that's plausible in the near-centuries to come. Everything abides by the laws of physics/thermodynamics (As best that I understand them, at least. I'm no scientist.) No artificial gravity, inertial dampeners, teleportation, FTL, or hand-wavy materials will be found in the Project Starfarer universe. Just advanced automation, nanotechnology, cybernetics and AI. Set in the backdrop of space. *I do not own the photo used for the cover*
