《Annotated By Sins, Magic Academy》Reboot: Chapter 20

Anyway, I pulled Kayla aside. “Tsk, couldn’t you allow me to rack up credits. Aren’t you like some kind of warrior? I remember reading a report that you fancy yourself a knight since you were young. Why do you need my help?” I pouted, sitting up straight.
Kayla rolled her eyes and sat on the arm of my chair. She really had no female assets. Elves were already slender to begin with but she was a carbon copy of a perfect elf. In that, she had a small breast, small curvy hip with a small ass, and to top it off. She was only a pretty stick.
“Where did you read that I trained to be a knight? I don’t ever remember making such a decision.” she glanced down at me with disdain.
I clicked my tongue and stared at her almost flat chest cover by soft green leather jacket.
“If you aren’t trying to be a knight then why are you dressed up like this?” I wave a hand at her green leather outfit.
Kayla looked at her clothes. “What’s wrong with my outfit?”
“Do you think you are a male? Why can’t you at least wear a war skirt or something? Huh?” I crossed both arms and my nose to emphasize my disdain.
Kayla looked at the other girls who were dressed, sad to say this, very similar in what is called men's wear. Due to the fact that it was tunic, jacket, and pants. Not to say this was a man’s world but it was.
“Look at them, they aren’t much different.” Kayla pointed at the rest of the girls, bringing them into the argument.
Like a pack of hyenas they crowded around her as she stood up.
“She’s right, it doesn’t look bad.”

“Yeah, she looks good in it.”
“I can’t believe you are judging your own future wife.”
I rubbed my chin and pointed at the blacksmith.
“You’re a man with boobs. You can’t talk about fashion. Your clothes have burnt hems.” I turned to the next girl. “Your clothes are wrinkly and if it weren’t dark clothing, I would swear you have ink stains on them.” “You are wearing my clothes, so what room do you have to input.”
They all looked at each other before blushing. However, embarrassment was quick to turn into anger and they all pointed a finger at me. Mouths open ready to rapid-fire berate me.
If the portal didn’t open and the man didn’t barked out his command. I might have been castrated and hung on a tree.
This is what you call save by a bell.
“Portal open go through now,” Jacob bellowed.
We all stopped arguing and rushed through. Coming out the otherside in what appeared to be the middle of a fort. You could see barriers rippling from the impacts of spells or cannons. People walking around talking in full gear.
It was almost laid back and would have made you think it was just a regular city. If they weren’t so armed.
“Follow me.” Jacob yelled over the loud noise.
He led us towards a large gate in the distances. A smile was on his face, “This is one of the rare forts in the demon realm. Well the lowest level realm, twelfth floor. But don’t worry the highest demon commander here is at the Grand level. Thus you are safe to go around and be stupid.”
His wife chuckled at that and then waved her hand. Our badges lit up and we received our mission. Aka, the extermination kind.

Mission Objective: Demon beast horde has attack. Led by a powerful Demon king beast to help cull some of their overpopulated numbers. Your objective is to accumulate kills by helping us eradicate these low level demons.
Mission Reward: Rank one level beast is two credits. Rank two is five credits. Rank three is ten credits. Rank four is twenty credits. Rank five is fifty credits. Rank six is hundred credits. You can trade credits into the Commerce union for different material rewards.
“You guys got the mission. Outside this gate are your targets. My job is only to stop the majority of you from dying. There are thirty-eight of you. Majority of you would be nineteen of you. Please enjoy your time outside.” Jacob chuckled evilly and opened the gates with a slight twist of his wrist.
I thought it would be a low level kind of mission but with the mission stating there were possible rank six demon beasts. That was equivalent to peak Grand level magus or knight or higher. Depending on its ability and how well it utilized it.
Anything higher than rank three already had intelligence equivalent to a human level professor.
I could only rush out the gate, then pull my people to the side. I toss up a card and it enlarges over my head, rushing down to devour my body. When it came back up, I appeared in dark green armor with my rose pattern dark green spear.
Kayla did something similar with a multi-gem necklace. The gems melted and formed a suit of armor around her. White armor with a tree pattern on the chest. She held a saber scabbard in her hand.
Not a knight though.
“What’s the plan?” she asked, automatically dismissing the helpfulness of the other girls.
“I’ll take the front, you guard the rear. The girls in between.”
Kayla nodded and we turned towards the frontline. Demons beast as tall as magic towers hover over the battlefield, launching beams from their mouths and other places. Looking down, you witnessed nothing but black and reds as far as the eye could see.
Sometimes a space would open up to show the dark red stained dirt that was beaten into harder substances from all the bombardment.
Our troops had nine front lines, barricades and stone spikes divided them. In between the man made fortifications were warriors that were constantly being bombarded with willing sacrifice.
I picked out the weakest of the nine fronts and dragged my team there.
“All you have to do is attack with light spells. If you don’t have one, then I have an easy spell to learn.” I yelled over the noise, passing back mana bullet spell cards.
While it wasn’t a strong spell, it could still pack a punch that could give a warrior ample time to recover or kill his opponent. The girls took it and studied it. Maybe thinking it would be like a powerful spell but the disappointment on their face gave away their naivety.

The Anthology
This is my collection of short stories. I ask what stories would my audience like to read and write whatever they post in the comments. I strive for more than two dimensional characters and I like to make my stories somewhat unique. The first six entries are my experiment to just write without stopping and see what comes out. They can serve as an introduction for the reader to me as a thinker and writer. Although it should be known that the majority of those entries were written in a foggy state of mind. Entry seven is where my short stories begin.
