《Annotated By Sins, Magic Academy》Reboot: Chapter 6

Two more commoners walk in right after six more nobles. It seemed to invite one and invited them all but it was fine. I never care what others thought. My family would still be rich, we still would have control over mass amounts of the medical field, and people would still fear the assassins that our wealth could buy.
I noticed a mana wave and stopped training to prepare for a possible test. Jordan noticed my staring and turned around. The other two commoners followed him. We stared at a man standing on the stage, studying us.
His power wasn’t that impressive. Just a space mage at the Grand Magus, seemed to be at an early stage. Half of us nobles were already encroaching on him. Though I wasn’t going to be disrespectful to him. There was still the guy sitting in an alternative space watching us.
His eyes would flicker to me whenever mine drifted to him. He would waved at me with a teasing smile, his power condensing more in my direction. Which let me sweat from both fear and struggling to maintain stoic expression.
“Your first test will begin now.” He bellowed.
Without any anti climatic showboating, we appeared in a valley of red. I mean, the ground was red, the trees were red, the grass was red, even the bloody sky was red. I glanced around me for a few moments before dropping my summon that I always had up.
Card faded into obscurity and my body floated up. I became a nothing but transparent wisp of smoke. I soared into the air and took a look around. My lips trembled, on the horizon, was an army of demons. I floated down and dropped my wraith to change to wind wolf.
“You guys should run.” I said, doing just that.

I took off in the other direction. Jordan led the commoners right behind me and I wondered if the women realized that their dress wasn’t all that smart.
I started to slow down and thought about it for a second. The goal might not be just to survive but see how we respond to being in a group. I clicked my tongue, my first response as an assassin was to run and pick off these enemies.
Spinning around, I dashed back to the women. They were indeed running slow. I inscribed Fire demon and Holy spirit onto cards. These would allow me to manipulate both fire and holy elements. I made five of each and outright summoned cards. Being able to quickcast rather than saying a lengthy incantation or channeling would save me precious seconds.
“Don’t you ladies have some flying magic? Cast it!” I barked.
I glance back to see the other three commoners running back. They looked at me confused and about to speak when I ignited my holy spirit card. I created a platform and threw the girls up on it. Only one of them had cast any form of magic.
I hopped on myself and sent it flying forward. It was a good thing the ground was relatively flat and clear. I check my mana watch. One bead was half way gone. It wasn’t draining fast but tsk, the speed was fast enough if the goal was to survive days.
I looked over to the girls to notice one of them hadn’t canceled whatever magic she summoned up.
“We don’t know the drill. Save your mana. If you don’t have a mana watch then don’t cast until we are being attacked.” I barked.
The three commoners look at each other and before dropping whatever magic they hold. The noble girl looked at me with a frown.

“Who made you the leader? I think the highest ranking should shoot the call.” She said with a mocking grin.
She only said that being Duke’s daughter. I remember seeing her at King’s Banquet once, annoying to the max.
I waved my hand and she flew off my ride. I picked up speed and turned to the others.
“Do any of you feel like you want to negotiate leadership?” I asked.
They all shook their heads. I turned to the commoners. “You are all adepts, yes?”
They nodded.
I took out three mana bracelets. Each had a set of ten mana pearls. I tossed it to them and wasted some mana to summon shadow raven to scout ahead.
“This is the game plan. We are going to find someone where we can dig in. If anybody knows any earth magic, speak up. I would prefer to dig underground then sleep above.” I said, while pulling out a clear crystal.
I cast a spell under my breath and a clear image of the raven’s sight became clear in the orb. The land was too open but that wasn’t what was the issue. The issue was that not far ahead was a village and beyond that more and more villages.
If I was alone, I could easily have slipped into the village. Massacred the fighters and turned it into a trap for the approaching army. Shit, I could pick off the scouts and then start massacring the army slowly.
With these guys, we might be able to pick off a small group but nothing more than twenty troops at the limit.

Cry of the Mer Extras
A collection of Cry of the Mer shorts and extras. This will mostly be a series of scenes from Luna's point of view. Things from her past and scenes that have already happened, but from the different perspectives. It may also include the same for other characters such as a look into the pasts of Katie and Riley as well. Basically all the world building stuff there isnt time for in the main plot. This is mostly what I'll be writing on my phone on my breaks at work to keep readers having some content as I cannot work on Heart of a Mer while there. Most of you know the situation already, so this is my compromise for less main content. I do take requests if there's something specific you want to see.
