《Metalbound》Chapter 7- Academy

"Now, explain what the hell the Academy is" I demaded.
"Calm down, it is just as it's name states. It's full name is the Motherverse Academy, and it is basically the most prodigous magical school in the whole universe. They usually scour newly integrated planets for magically gifted people. They have expansive archives and they are the best training academy to get into" Amara explained.
"If they search newly integrated worlds, then why arent they here yet?" I asked.
"It takes time to open a portal between worlds. I asume that they will have representatives in large cities by the morning" she said.
"I have a decent talent for magic, and I can assume you do too. They will most likely accept both of us" she added.
"Why would I want to leave Earth?" I asked her in confusion. "This is my home. I don't want to leave it".
"Trust me, you want to. Graduates of the academy get so many benefits, it is completely worth it" she said. "Now zip it, I am going to sleep".
I woke up to Amara drooling on my shoulder. I wasn't sure how she had gotten there, but I was using her as a blanket. It wasnt that effective since I was a whole 3 inches taller than her, but it was cozy. I closed my eyes for a while, enjoying the feeling.
Amara snorted softly, coming out of her sleep. She looked up at me blearily.
"Morning, sunshine" I said.
She groaned and buried her head in my shoulder.
"Why do you look so awake?" she groaned. "I feel like shit".
I chuckled. She apparently wasn't a morning person.
I patted her head, and rolled out from underneath her.
"I'm gonna go make some cereal. You want some?" I asked.

She peeked her head out from underneath the covers, and nodded. I took some milk out of the fridge and poured the cereal in the bowl. After I added the milk, I took a big spoonful. The first bite of my Fruity Pebbles were always the best. I quickly poured another one so my bowl wouldn't get soggy, and sat down next to Amara. She rolled over to the side of the bed and sat up, and we ate our cereal in silence.
It all felt so surreal, like what happened yesterday was just a dream. I looked over at Amara and let out a small laugh. She was apparently having trouble grasping the spoon, and in her already grumpy state it was adorable. She glared at me and threw the spoon across the room.
"Piece of shit is too slippery" she grumbled as she slurped fron the side of the bowl.
As I took bites of cereal, I felt metal bending in my mouth. I pulled the spoon out, and it was completely flattened. My teeth had squashed it out of it's bowl shape.
I tried to continue eating, but all of the milk dripped off of it. I threw my spoon away as well and mimicked Amara.
Just then, someone knocked on the door. We both looked up with milk dripping from our chins. Hastily, I wiped my chin off and hurried to the window. I looked out, and saw a young man in a blue an black robe standing in fron of the door. He seemed to radiate energy, and it was like an aura.
He knocked again, and I opened the door. He gave me a pleasant smile and said "Hi. I am a representative of the Motherverse Academy".
He showed me a golden card that had something similar to a status.

"I am here to ask you if you want to join the Academy. I can sense that you have a very powerful race. You and the Demon are both welcome to the Academy" he said pleasantly.
"Why would I want to leave my home?" I asked him. I wanted to see if he had a good sales pitch.
"You see, the Motherverse Academy offers protection, and classes for any occupation you might want to pursue. We have training grounds, classrooms, restaraunts, blacksmiths, and almost everything else. Motherverse Academy even has their own adventurers guild. I assure you that this in the best choice for you" said Evan. "I have a contract that explains everything".
He handed me a old piece of paper, that looked like it would crumble if I breathed on it. I gingerly took the paper, and slowly exhaled.
"This is a lot" I said in awe.
