I am a magician performer. I do magic in the streets, at birthday parties, and all sorts of gatherings- that kind of gig. In my profession, magic is simply an optical illusion made to entertain people.

But what I really wanted, was to learn real magic, the raw and powerful kind. The kind that can bring about supernatural forces that temper with nature, conjure fireballs at the flick of a hand, etc.

A friend found a book that could teach me all the elements of magic. Everything I've dreamed of for a long time could be resting in that very book. I was excited and eager to try, but in between, I feel reluctant. I wanted to wield real magic.

But what cost would it entail?
