“Tell me about yourself.”
The manager’s dull, bored tone of voice clearly expressed his disappointment in the teen sitting on the other side of his desk. With how the kid dressed up for his job interview with what looked like a wizard’s costume and magical staff, he had to be a prankster of some kind, only interested in getting views on YouTube.
“Uh, my name is Junichiryo Enryu Ponemewilo the Third.” The light-haired kid coughed, a faint red blush appearing on his cheeks. “I’m a genius spellcaster from another world and son of a powerful Lord, but none of that matters here on Earth.” A troubled expression appeared on his face. “You see, I was accidentally transported here after I fell into a God Spark left over from the Divine Catastrophe—which was a global war between various deities and their servants. When a deity died in combat, they left a God Spark behind, which no mortal could move. We thought we’d located them all and sealed them off so that no one hurt themselves around them, but…” He shrugged. “We missed one, and I accidentally touched it.”
The manager couldn’t help but to smile after hearing his interviewee’s response, as he liked the background the boy came up with for his little prank. “It could even make a good comedy.” The manager thought. “Since the other applicants have been so boring, I might as well ignore the scripted questions and have some fun here.”
“If that’s the case…Junichiryo Enryu Ponemewilo the Third?” The manager almost laughed at how happy the teen looked when he got the name’s pronunciation correct. “If you’re a spellcaster, why work here at a fast food restaurant? Or rather, are you applying for this job because you plan to stay on Earth?”

“Actually, sir, I plan to head back in a few of your Earth months. Soon after arriving here I learned that breaking the Celestial Space Barrier is astronomically easier done here than on my home planet. However, I need to fill my mana stores to do that, and there’s so little mana on your little planet that it will take me those few months I mentioned. I want this job because I thought it’d be fun to be a part of your society while I gather mana rather than camp out in a forest and eat whatever wildlife I find.”
The manager found himself nodding along with his brows furrowed, astonished at how smoothly Junichiryo delivered his response.
“Okay, then what relevant skills can you bring to this establishment? Maybe some of your spellcaster abilities can make you the best employee?” It was difficult not to add some snark to the latter question.
The young man thought to himself for a second before raising his hand shoulder height and twisting it sideways a few times, displaying the “kind of” gesture.
“Yes and no.” The manager leaned forward in his curiosity. “While I can’t use mana for this job without pushing back the date I want to return to my planet on, the training I underwent back home to become a spellcaster will definitely make me the best employee of your planet. My reaction times, memorization skills, and diligence are all superhuman. Especially if I use the standard for a ‘human’ of your world.” The teen’s expression turned meek. “Though, I mean no offence when I say that. It’s just fact.”
Without missing a beat or saying a word, the manager took a pen from his shirt pocket and threw it at Junichiryo. At first, it looked as though the pen would collide with the kid’s forehead, but an instant later, and the same hand he used to make the “kind of” gesture was suddenly on the manager’s desk…with the pen in hand.

The manager blinked, then gulped his saliva. He didn’t see the hand grab the pen…
“See? I told you so.” The teen smiled.
“Err, uh, yeah. You did.” The manager adjusted his glasses. “And you’re also hired. Come back tomorrow at 6 A.M. sharp. If you, uh, don’t know how to tell the time on Earth, then, uh, ask a passerby or something.”
The manager still didn’t fully believe the kid’s story and was planning on hiring another employee, but…no one could fault him for hoping.

Chronicles of Xod (returning from hiatus)
After a long recovery over a chronic motion sickness issue, I feel I'm ready to return to writing this book. It might be slow at first, but I'm hoping to pick up where I left off. I apologize again for the long hiatus. The pages following are a true account. An account of how I, Josh--a teenage nerd from modern suburbia--ended up in a strange world filled with fantastic magic, bizarre creatures, and terrifying dungeons. Despite the troped-up fantasy feel of the world, this is hardly an ordinary tale. For one, don’t expect a happy ending. With the trials I’ve been through, the horrors I’ve seen and the atrocities I’ve committed, believe me when I tell you, this is not a happy tale filled with friendly rainbow bears or teenage flying unicorns. It’s more likely you’ll finish this book mentally scarred as I will not spare the details of my unfortunate adventures. With the help of my trusted companion Gui, I gain an insight that no one else in the world has. This knowledge allows me to exploit and, for lack of a better term, metagame the system which gave me a clear advantage over its residents. “With great power...,” someone might begin to quote to me. In my defense, I think maybe even you, reader, might have acted similarly with how this reality changed my view of good and evil. This story will be updated regularly on Wednesdays around 6 PM. There will only be about 1000 words per update. The focus is to finish the story before doing any major changes or editing. Please read as if this is a work in progress, not a finished product. Feel free to let me know if you see any error, whether glaring or minor. If you help me out, I'll be sure to add you to a thank you list at the front of the book when it is published. Chronicles of Xod is a first-person fantasy novel that follows the adventures of a young man from Earth. Through unknown circumstances, he finds himself in a fantasy world where life is not all wonders and happy endings. The story takes common fantasy concepts from my favorite video games, books and movies and gives them an adult edge. It also introduces some taboo concepts often glossed over by stories written for broad audiences. The style is meant to be immersive and heavily detailed. The short novel will be written in a way that attempts to bring a sense of realism to an unrealistic genre. Where there are realistic consequences and dangers in a world populated with violent monsters, cruel demons, bloodthirsty undead, and immoral bandits. In this fantasy world, the inhabitants are essentially gender blind as far as sexuality is concerned. There is also more variation amongst male and female physiology. This isn't meant to be any kind of promotion or demotion of social behavior in reality. Just a concept I thought would be an interesting idea to have in a fantasy setting. I highly discourage anyone from reading this material if you are personally concerned with being offended or traumatized. Both violent and sexual content will be graphically detailed. All characters involved in sexual scenes are mature and of the age of consent(18+).

Wisdom And Wolf
When I was twenty one I bought my first motorcycle. My only motorcycle. A Harley Davidson XLX, Sportster. Her name is Rohdindae, it comes from the Silmarillion and loosely translates to Horse of the Silent Shadows. This two wheeled mare, of iron and steel, was my sole means of transportation for almost 5 years. Rain, sleet, snow, or hundred degree heat, it didn't matter, I was in the saddle. We went all over this side of the Mississippi together. To places long forgotten by progress or filled to their capacity with humanity. Interesting word humanity, it means all off human kind in one definition, generosity and compassion in another. How often these two definitions are at bitter odds with the other, is something to be seen. These words are a mash up. Tales of the road. The people I met, stories I listened to, and the loves I saw grow, all find themselves here, mixed within these pages. From Maine to Mobile and all the places in between, where people still, somehow, cling on to the good fight. The only fight worth fighting.
