《Warfare's Ultimate Frontier》Chapter 277 More Announcements

The sheer amount of people that were talking about the news that Sun Tzu had revealed about the future of the Chinese community was huge. Even those who didn’t normally concern themselves about this matter found themselves discussing it in conversations. This was just how much the new changes would affect the lives of everyone. However, the following week, Sun Bin and Wu Zi Xu had made announcements of their very own.
Sun Bin, who had only recently become interested in aerial warfare, decided that he would host an aerial tournament and invite anyone worthy to become part of the Sun Alliance. Wu Zi Xu announced something similar, but it would only involve 3 individuals. There would be a 3-way naval battle between himself, Zheng He of the Vesper faction, and Madam Zheng of the Forever Pirates faction. Though these two events hosted by the elite of the elite were big pieces of news, it still paled in comparison to what Sun Tzu had given to the community just a week prior.
Thus started another wave of relevant discussions all throughout the community and beyond what the purpose of these might be.
---------
(ST) “Sun Bin, I don’t understand why you would choose to do a tournament now. There is much to be done if we are to prepare for the mock Death Match tournament not to mention the actual Death Match tournament, that goes for you too, Wu Zi Xu. I’ll need all the help I can get in getting all of this done, We cut it a bit close when we returned so late, but now you want to cut it even closer?” Sun Tzu said to Sun Bin, and Wu Zi Xu while Sun Wu stood listening to it all.
(SB) “Not to worry, if all of my guesswork is correct, then we should have this tournament done and out of the way in less than a month at most.” Sun Bin answered Sun Tzu.

(WZX) “I agree with Sun Bin, my matter should be done and over in around a month as well. Then after that, we will be able to help you with your preparations for the mock Death Match tournament.” Wu Zi Xu explained.
(SW) “Let them do what they want, for now, old friend, I’ll give you a hand with everything until they are done. The trip has done wonders for my mental health, but” Sun Wu said but abruptly paused.
(ST) “...but not enough I know. I really didn’t think your case would be so serious.”
(SW) “Perhaps getting my mind to focus on work will be beneficial.”
(ST) “After all these centuries, you still can’t bear to tell me what happened to you?”
(SW) “The memory is still way too painful, I apologize for all the work that you have gone through to protect me, brother.”
(WZX) “You two are really going all out in trying to protect that secret, hey? Even though I am your most trusted ally, you still won’t tell me anything.”
(ST) “Don’t worry about it, now, you two, what exactly do you plan on achieving with the events that you are planning? Depending on how large it will be, it will be more trouble than its really worth.”
(SB) “My reasoning is simple, through our travels to the other communities, it has become clear to me that aerial battles will likely be the future. Although land and naval warfare are the dominant two now, I believe that will change quite soon. Have you seen the Americans and how advanced some of their technology is? They are far ahead of us when it comes to this stuff. I want to take those who are talented and bring them to their full potential.”

(ST) “Although I agree with what you have said to various degrees, that is an acceptable answer. And you?” Sun Tzu said looking at Wu Zi Xu.
(WZX) “I want to test just how powerful these 2 upstarts are. From what I have heard, Zheng He came onto the scene just a little while after we left for the other communities. Madam Zheng, on the other hand, came many centuries after that and has almost matched Zheng He’s might. These two individuals are truly worth taking a look into.”
(ST) “I see, very well then.”
(WZX) “Hold on, I wasn’t finished. I had heard many reports of a mysterious group called the Bair fighters entering into our previous Sun Alliance tournaments. From what the strategists here to witness it thinks, it was them that Zheng He got his hands on an atomic weapon called Big Boy.”
(SW) “Hold on, I remember having a conversation with one of the generals in the American community about this Big Boy weapon and how devastating it was. You don’t mean…”
(WZX) “No, from what I’ve been told, it is likely that Zheng He does not have the blueprints to this weapon and likely was given to him by one of the Bair fighters. I have reviewed the records we have and that does seem to be the case. However, I want to do the tournament so I can confirm whether or not this is really the case or not.”
(ST) “Heh, looks like the serious Wu Zi Xu is finally back.”
(WZX) “The vacation has been nice, boss, but it is finally time to get back to work. Oh! One more thing, have you guys been given the news of the 3 new factions that were recently established?”
(ST) “I have not.”
(SW) “Not really.”
(SB) “I don’t normally concern myself with these issues as this is Li Guang’s expertise is it not?”
(WZX) “Well, then you are in for a treat. 2 of the 3 new factions belong to a fellow by the name Zhang Da Zhi. He seems to be implementing a two-tier faction that separates elites from the regular bunch. His results are pretty promising for just a decades-old faction.”
(ST) “Ah, it is good that the new generation is off to a good start.”
(WZX) “There is one more that, to me, seems to be more impressive. A kid called Baron founded the last faction and already has almost 100,000 members.”
(SB) “No way, even the Sun Alliance needed a century to grow to such a size, how did they manage it in just a few decades?”
(ST) “It doesn’t matter, we should be glad he has found something that makes people interested in warfare. Anyway, you all get to work, Sun Wu and I will start on the preparations for the mock Death Match tournament.”
(WZX) “On it.”
(SB) “Ok.”
(SW) “Good.”

Dear Spellbook (Link to rewrite in blurb)
A rewrite of this story has been posted here: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/49881/dear-spellbook-a-fantasy-time-loop-rewrite Live. Study. Repeat. Tal is a sorcerer in a world where they are killed on sight, traveling with a man charged with carrying out the task. Every night Tal must pretend to study his spellbook to maintain his disguise as a Wizard’s Apprentice. If his disguise slips and his charade is uncovered, it will be his death. Seeking answers to mysteries that arose after his parent’s murder, Tal must accept any allies, no matter the risks, to uncover his family’s secret. But when he wakes up one morning to find himself trapped repeating the same day, he has to overcome his challenges all on his own. This story is an adaptation of a D&D campaign I ran but never was able to complete. I tried to capture the feel of a table-top RPG session —tropes and humor— without relying on the mechanics. This is not a litRPG or gamelit story and no D&D mechanics or system appear in the game. It follows one member of an adventuring party as he deals with the problems with that arise from being an adventurer. Namely, getting roped into adventures. The story has a time loop element, but will eventually move past that. This story explores the magic systems, the history, and the lore of the world through the lens of Tal's entries in his Spellbook and interludes from other written works in the world. New entries on Mondays Credit to JackOfHearts for the cover.

Et Non Lucem
A lonely fortress, a (slightly) deranged assassin, secrets, intrigue, magic and war. What could possible go wrong? If you've ever wondered what would happen if somebody attempted to blend a realistic medieval world with fantasy, then this is for you. If you've ever wondered what happens when you stick some (extremely) flawed humans into positions of power and try making them save the world, then this story is for you. Or if you're simply bored and can't seem to decide on a new story to read, then this story is for you! This is my first ever attempt at writing a story after years and years of reading, so any and all constrictive criticism is appreciated!

(un)Lucky
After dying on his hospital bed, Jack is surprised to once again regain consciousness. Turns out he’s in purgatory where he learns that God has been pretty into gaming lately… you already know where this is going, don’t you? Yeah, yeah, I know, another LitRPG story like many others. SO original… But why then do we keep reading them and looking for more? The answer, for me at least, is because they’re usually just plain fun. That’s all I hope my story can be: fun. No fixed releases for now, nor any future plans. I’m just trying to enjoy my time writing it. Btw, the cover is something random I did and has absolutely nothing to do with anything. Don’t ask me why.

Life is Feudal
No OP stuff, status bars, levels or skills. This story is in favour of more realistic setting in a world of humans and various monsters. "Behind the mask of the assertive, resolute facade that employs ruthless routes at any given moment, lies the frail, anxious heart that were once but a puny human. Reviled and revered by many, none would ever know my true allegiance lies within myself, merely trying to survive this mess." Just the life of a grumpy man child living in a terrible piece of shit or a desolate state in which I call an alternate historical take on medieval Europe. Living as a peasant who is forced to take up arms to defend his own kin. This story grants an insightful take on the life of people living under constant danger, from vying nobles who commit atrocities in the name of justice, eager nations and barbarians aiming to take a piece of the bountiful land and mythical divine monsters who resembles a walking catastrophe in any possible way. [If you're easily offended by alternate-history religion and cultural practices, then you shouldn't read this.]
