《Warfare's Ultimate Frontier》Chapter 271 The Situation at Femme Fatale

Roxi had been with matron Fu Hao for a few good decades now, and within that time, they were able to get to know each other and sort out their difference. Fu Hao because she could not let such a person with such knowledge escape her grasp, and Roxi since she needed Fu Hao to fund her projects. At first, their relationships were rocky due to their constant butting heads, but they were able to work through all of that and had really grown closer together. They still did butt heads from time to time, but it wasn't the yelling and screaming that it originally was.
(RB) "So, matron, what do you think we should do now? We have completed our latest project a lot faster than we anticipated." Roxi asked Fu Hao as a sign of respect.
(FH) "Why don't you choose? I'm sure you have got something in mind." Fu Hao said, handing over the clipboard of things to research and development.
(RB) "Hmm, I think what would really set the Femme Fatale faction up for success in the future would be if we managed to get a working satellite into orbit. Don't you think?"
(FH) "Satellites are very difficult to develop. I don't think this is something we will be able to do on our own without someone who has a firm grasp of many aerial blueprints that we don't even have. As much as I'd like to be the first to this, there are many more who are far beyond us in completing this technology. Unless you happen to know anybody who fits the qualifications?"
(RB) "I do, but I have no idea if they are willing to spend years, maybe even decades on such a huge project. Plus, it is a male who I am thinking of, there is no guarantee that you will be able to convince the head of the Femme Fatale to bend one of your most sacred rules. I'm still unsure why they allowed the alliance between them and the Under 1 Banner faction in the first place. Not that I'm complaining of course."

(FH) "I have no idea if I will be able to accomplish this, but I will do my best. Think of all the shower and praise that we would get if we were to actually be one of the first to accomplish this. It is not a secret that the more advanced technology is hardly ever in the minds of one person. That is why newer technologies are so slow to be adapted to this world. I have seen the replays of the Sun Alliance tournaments, and I believe the Bair fighters have figured out these kinds of technology and that is why they were so dominating."
(RB) "I think Baron mentioned something about the Bair fighters having GPS capabilities in his short time inside their base. That must be why then."
(FH) "Yes, who is this person that you think will be able to help us? Is it this Baron fellow?"
(RB) "No, it is another one of my good friends, Jaxon. He knows a lot about aerial aircraft, he has even designed some of his own. I just don't know if he would be willing to work for us for that long."
(FH) "If you vouch for him, then I'll trust him. Heh, I'll go and speak with my successor about this plan that you have in mind while you go to this friend of yours. Tell him that his payment, if this project is successful, will be ten million silver coins."
(RB) "Alright, I'll go do that."
----------
(JL) "10 million coins, huh? I do need the money for something that I plan on working on. Tell you what Roxi, if those Femme Fatale ladies agree to it, then I will too. Have them send a messenger or you, to send me a message in 2 years’ time. I should be able to make free time then." Jaxon Long replied to Roxi's proposal.

(RB) "What will you be doing in the meantime? Just be at the faction?"
(JL) "Yes and no. I will be at the faction but I will not be instructing those that want my lessons. Instead, I will be there taking any challenges from anyone that wishes to take me on. I will use this chance to make a few extra coins while also making a name for myself. Honestly, I hope to broaden my horizons with this. I may have the most blueprints out of everyone in the entire Chinese community, but that doesn't mean I will be able to beat everyone."
(RB) "I see. Bettering yourself is an important goal in this life that we are living, but if you are planning what I think you are planning, then make sure you are absolutely certain of what you hope to accomplish."
(JL) "You know what I'm planning?"
(RB) "You may be able to hide your reeking ambition from Baron, but I know you better than Baron does. I won't say anything, but just make sure that if you do go through with it that you don't forget everything that we have done for you in this life and the past."
(JL) "How could I? You two gave me a home when I didn't have one, twice if you count this planet."
(RB) "Good, I'd hate to see my two boys fighting each other when they would benefit so much more from being together. We shouldn't forget the pact we made to each other a long time ago, don't you agree?"
(JL) "Though we were kids when we did so, I wouldn't abandon my friends for just anything. Count on me to boost Baron higher than he would ever be able to on his own."
(RB) "Yes, he is quite capable on his own, but there are certain things he lacks that we must account for. I truly believe the three of us were destined to meet on this planet and fulfill our wishes that we were not able to on Earth."
(JL) "I hope you're right."
