《Warfare's Ultimate Frontier》Chapter 253 Baron’s Risky Play

Baron, Yue Fei, and Guan Yu may only be slightly outnumbered by their enemies, but unlike the other times, this enemy of theirs was highly capable of leading even a mediocre bunch and accomplishing great feats. Not to mention when he had his own army along with the home-field advantage. If the 3 of them didn’t step up, it was a real possibility that they would lose. This thought ran through all of their minds, but Baron was the one who took the initiative and started something that surprised everyone. He led a ground unit at night to sneak inside the airfield and camp of their foe.
This tactic was usually not used due to the fact that the guards in these situations were double or even triple what they were in other situations. And that was why Baron chose to do this, it was unusual and hardly anyone would have thought to go this far. However, even if they had prepared for this, Baron had brought something that he was confident was able to blow through all of that. The Brilliant Blue. It was the weapon that Roxi had made and had only recently entrusted to Baron the blueprint.
Once Baron’s ground troops made their way to one of the 4 airbases, he scoped around the area one last time before he commenced with his plan. Carnage and chaos engulfed the camp and this was exactly what he wanted. In the span of only a half-hour, Baron and his troops were able to do deal such extensive damage to the military aircraft that they felt that doing anymore was more risk outweighed the rewards and so they fell back. It was certainly not a small victory that they had just achieved, but they felt that they had a bit more time before they were due back at their base so they decided to hit one more target.

Now that they had successfully hit one of the camps, it was clear that the others would have their security tightened immensely so as to not have a repeat. Baron considered the 3 remaining camps and weighed the pros and cons of attacking each one. In the end, he decided to wait another 2 hours before he went to go hit the camp that was furthest away from the one that he had just demolished. Also, he attacked from a direction that the enemy did not secure as well as the others. This was not a matter of being overconfident, but rather they only had so many they could use to put up as guards without shirking other duties.
The raid on the second camp went nearly the same as the first one for Baron. Although, he ran out of the charge of the Brilliant Blue halfway through and he had to use one of the guns from his troops. There were more casualties on his side which were expected with all of the added security. As well as it took them nearly twice as long as they did in the first one. By the end of that activity, more soldiers were coming their way and Baron had to leave so his soldiers would not be surrounded and offed one by one. This was a huge blow to the enemy, and everyone knew it.
Yue Fei and Guan Yu were getting reports from the scouts throughout the time that Baron was getting results and they both congratulated him when he returned. However, the three of them were not done quite yet. The enemy was still busy counting their losses, and it was likely their guard was down at the moment. So, the 3 of them sent a few scouts to go check out the status of their foes. Unfortunately, the scouts were all shot down and none of them made it back alive. It turned out that the enemy was a bit more prepared than they thought.

There was just one more thing that Baron had up his sleeve for tonight. Jaxon had given him control of his Electric Swift squadron. A squad that was specialized in night fights. He sent them all out and targeted one of the remaining two bases. Then, less than an hour after that, the sun was just beginning to rise into the sky. Baron, Guan Yu, and Yue Fei led the majority of their forces to launch an all-out offensive on their enemies. The Electric Swift Squads had started out strong, but after fighting for a bit, their enemies had started to get the upper hand.
Guan Yu ordered the Electric Swift squad to fall back just before the 3 of them hit so that whoever they fought against would be lulled into a false sense of security for a brief moment. Then, disaster would strike. It was just as Baron, Yue Fei, and Guan Yu had predicted. After all, was said and done, there was only one group that put up any sort of fight anymore, and it was a group led by 3 strategists. This revelation led to Baron and the others into the realization that neither Wang Yi nor Eumenes had been here at the start. No, both of them were still in the capital base that Jaxon was in the middle of sieging.
No matter how skilled and how many mysterious aircraft that Jaxon had up his sleeve, his 3 allies found it hardly plausible for him to defeat both Wang Yi and Eumenes when they were together. So, Baron rushed to Jaxon’s aid while the battle was still going on with the 3 lesser enemy strategists. What really shocked Baron was not the fact that Jaxon seemed to be doing everything right, it was that he was able to even push back the enemy with a few squads made of planes that Baron could only assume was his friend’s own creation.
If he was so surprised by the strength of his own ally, then what, was Wang Yi and Eumenes supposed to think? They had thought that this Jaxon fellow was someone that was a last-minute addition to Baron’s team. How were they supposed to know that he was an aerial strategist that surpassed them immensely skillswise.

Where Giants Fall
A fantasy LitRPG about traversing through worlds and slaying giants with nothing but a wooden suit and an army of treants. Nicholas Atkins didn't expect to wake up naked in the glowing woods. What he did expect was waking up to a hangover after last night's party- fortunately, that wasn't the case. Unfortunately though, he had worse problems to take care of than a headache. At first he blamed it on the alcohol; from what he recalled in Biology, glowing flowers didn't exactly exist in the realm of reality. However he was as sober as he could be, so next he blamed the drugs, but there was a problem- he didn't have the money to do drugs in the first place. When the fairies came, things became even weirder. Talks of climbing towers, magic tricks, and dinner were all on the table. Of course, dinner was the priority, but so was getting back home. However slowly, Nico realized that he might actually want to stay in this fantasy world. After all, he's had enough listening to Professor Paul's lecture on calculus- the swords and sorceries were just an added bonus. Still, staying in this new world has its own costs- and money is but one thing on that long, long list. Updated everyday except Saturday GMT+8 (Specific time varies by around 30 minutes). Mordheim: Servants of The Damned (A Warhammer Fantasy Fiction)
“The Great Library,” Stated the stranger with a pause. “You know of it?”“Of course I do. In the Merchant’s Quarter?”“Yes, in the Merchant’s Quarter. I have gathered that there is an… artefact of importance within its walls.” Slowly, the figure produced a rusted key from the furls of his robes and held it in a black-gloved hand. “This opens the door to its chambers. It is the grimoire of Gunnar von Krugenheim, and I believe that it would serve better in the world than locked away in a dusty room.” Behind the cursed walls of Mordheim, warbands and gangs of all stripes are embattled in constant wars for resources and power. The cursed city attracts throngs in the thousands, searching for treasures, artefacts, power, and sometimes all three. The Cult of the Hidden Brethren is no exception, and when an opportunity to extend their reach is discovered, the cultists are eager to take the opportunity. However, not all is set in stone, and soon the cultists discover that the lure of power alone may not be enough to give them the drive required to see their quest done... --- Mordheim: Servants of the Damned is a fanfiction set in the world of Warhammer Fantasy, which is not owned by me but by the company Games Workshop. I of course, lay claim to nothing in this story but the characters I have created, and the core events of the story itself. This is my first true foray into fantasy writing, let alone Warhammer Fantasy, therefore any feedback is welcome. (It should be noted as well, the cover art is merely an artwork I found online and is not mine, therefore I do not lay claim to that either.)
