《Warfare's Ultimate Frontier》Chapter 249 Reinforcements Incoming

Baron’s forces, as well as the majority of Lu Mu’s, were off fighting in one huge aerial fight that included most of the forces on both sides. It would be an understatement to say that both sides were waiting to see results in their huge gamble in sending so many of their pawns into one single battle. Baron and Lu Mu had much higher quality forces under them, but the coalition had a greater number of fighters at their disposal. Planes were shot down, parachutes everywhere, missiles flying in many directions, the sound of gunfire blaring nonstop. Slowly but surely, Baron and Lu Mu’s forces started to get fatigued and in desperate need of resupply.
This was when the rest of Lu Mu’s forces, the elite squads, would come into play. These forces would go into the battlefield while the planes that were already inside who were extremely low on supplies would be phased out to resupply. Then once the resupply was successfully carried out, the elite squad, as well as the newly refreshed squad, would continue the fight while the rest of the pilots that needed to resupply would be switched out. This may have been a difficult maneuver to pull off for Baron before, but he had long ago figured out the best way to get this done with the fewest casualties.
That being said, it would still require an intense focus on his part and fast responses to anything that the coalition would send to stop this process from happening. Baron had practiced this with Yue Fei hundreds even thousands of times to ensure that he had enough experience to know when to go for it and when to wait. As a result, he was confident that he would be able to pull off this complex maneuver with little to no casualties. Not to mention the pilots that were all trained by Lu Mu were mostly expert aces as well.

The switching out tactic was initiated by Baron and the elite squads of Lu Mu entered the battlefield with no difficulty. Now, he would need the planes with the most planes to get out of that situation as best as they could, he ordered all of the pilots using a code that he derived so as to make sure that the coalition would not be able to figure out their plans even if they managed to intercept the message. That part went off without a hitch and the planes that got out immediately returned to the temporary airfield that was resurrected. After refueling, they got back into the air and headed straight for the battlefield once more.
However, as soon as they did, the coalition army disengaged and Baron decided it was best for his forces to withdraw as well. It wasn’t his goal to crush his enemy, it was to drag the battle long enough that the coalition knew that it wasn’t possible for them to take out Baron’s group. This was easier said than done as Baron estimated that the coalition had not yet shown their true powers just yet. For now, though, this was all he could do in this battle.
This battle continued on for another few days until Guan Yu and Yue Fei managed to finally reinforce Baron and Lu Mu. Though they had lost close to half their numbers, they were still a force to be reckoned with as the planes that were under their control were far superior to what the coalition had shown thus far. It took another few days for them to force the coalition armies to withdraw and the four of them headed back to the capital base to rest their weary soldiers. The battles in the past few days took a heavy toll on their armies and they were now a fair bit weaker than they had at the start of the conflict. So far, nothing to get worried over.

That brief respite lasted less than a day as the coalition was finally getting serious with their maneuvers and sent out two armies, both of which were much larger than the first wave, to head directly to the capital base. Baron and the rest held a meeting to decide what they would do. It was decided that Jaxon and Baron would head out to receive one of the two armies while allowing the other massive army to hit the base and meet the many traps and tricks that their capital base had. Baron and Jaxon worked really well together, that was why they were chosen to fight alongside each other.
On the other hand, Lu Mu, Guan Yu, and Yue Fei were not that far behind in terms of skill, but it was definitely a lot easier to defend the base than it was to shoot down enemy fighters out in the open. Besides, they all agreed it was finally time to show the world what they had prepared. If they were successful in repelling this two-pronged offensive from the coalition, it should serve as a warning to all others of just how ruthless and powerful the Under 1 Banner members were. Well, to all those that were weaker to them, anyway. Those that were stronger than them or eager to prove their strength would not be convinced otherwise so that didn’t really matter.
Baron was glad that his friend Jaxon was by his side here in the Chinese community. Someone as valued as him would no doubt bring their faction higher on the respect ladder. That being said, the challenge in front of them now was something that they both needed to bring their all. Even for someone with Jaxon’s level of skill, he would need to be careful of the coalition. Especially as he had gotten a little overconfident after finding out that he could beat all of his teammates at once, multiple times. The fighting began with Baron watching on the sidelines. Jaxon had asked him to let him be the one to start this fight. And for the first time, Baron saw something that he had never even known existed. It was one of Jaxon’s own self-built monstrosities.
