《Warfare's Ultimate Frontier》Chapter 244 Decades of Experience

The new reinforcements that were sent to attack Guan Yu and Yue Fei moved in a way that they were able to nearly catch Guan Yu off guard as he and his squadrons were flying away from the first wave of enemies that were after them. Almost. Had Guan Yu not had these new planes in his arsenal, he had no doubt in his mind that he would have flown right into an ambush with the reckless way that he had fought for the majority of his career here on planet 4. But now, with the new technologies that were in his control, there was no such thing as being caught off guard anymore. Not unless someone came along and was able to disable all of them at least.
As a ploy, Guan Yu made sure to have his squads proceed as if they had no clue about the ambush waiting just up ahead for them. Then, just as their enemies were about to fire at them, Guan Yu beat them to it by launching almost a thousand missiles at the area where he knew there would be enemies hiding in cover. This worked like a charm and they made a U-turn so that they would be able to do battle with their opponents coming in from behind them. Though they had done a significant amount of damage to their ambushers, it would not be enough for them to admit defeat.
Guan Yu did not expect the reinforcements to be so resilient and as such he expected them to retreat after taking such extensive damage. Now that he had to deal with an offensive from both sides, the situation would be a bit trickier to handle. However, he did not practice aerial warfare for decades on end to end it here. If he did, that would be an insult to his intelligence. There was nothing else but to fight his way through the hordes of enemies once more.

On Yue Fei’s side, he only had to deal with the first wave that he had been fighting with for the better part of a few hours. Though his enemies were careful in every maneuver that they executed, it was no match for Yue Fei’s vastly superior firepower and advanced planes not to mention the excellently trained pilots, compliments of Lu Mu. It was true that Yue Fei’s experience and knowledge of aerial warfare was greatly improved upon since his time at the Sun Alliance tournament, but that was only half of the story. The other half was due to the appearance of two exceedingly powerful figures on their team. Lu Mu from the Femme Fatale and Jaxon Long, Baron and Roxi’s friend from Earth who was obsessed with warplanes and such.
Such collaborations between titans of strategists in their respective fields were definitely something to behold. This must be a fraction of what it was that the Yellow Wang faction leaders felt when they worked together. Maybe even what it felt like when Sun Tzu, Zhu Ge Liang, and Wu Qi had dominated the Chinese community in eras that most people now only hear of from whispers and rumors. It was still a mystery to many of what had happened to the latter two, but the only person who knows is likely Sun Tzu himself. Just a few days before the faction selection tournament had begun, Li Guang had made an announcement that Sun Tzu was going to be coming back very soon. This caused great disturbances across the community as many factions had been able to get away with many unethical practices but now that Sun Tzu was soon to be expected, they had to dial it down.
For now though, even if Guan Yu and Yue Fei were slightly on the upper hand in their respective battlefields, it would take quite a while to defeat enough of their enemies to retreat. Both of them were still outnumbered quite a bit after all. It would take some time to break the stalemate.

On Baron’s end, he could have been said to have improved the most out of the three of them throughout all of their time spent on simulations and analyzing records. He was like a sponge, absorbing everything then going through many cycles of basic sims inside his head to see how practical each method or tactic was whenever he saw it happen. Unfortunately, there were only so many he could handle when they were not able to witness some of the more interesting individuals’ simulations. Such as Sun Tzu, and Zhu Ge Liang. A real shame.
The army that Baron was intercepting was heading east to take down the capital base that Lu Mu and Jaxon were in. He could not allow this and he would do everything in his power to stop them here and now. If he was able to do that, then he was sure that whatever else the coalition had to throw at them was something that Lu Mu and Jaxon would be able to handle on their own. This was harder said than done as Baron realized too late that one of the strategists that he was up against was someone of a much higher skill than he. It did not mean that Baron would lose every time to this strategist were they to fight, just that Baron would have to step up big time to be able to beat him.
This would not be such an issue if Baron had a comparable army with him, but that was not what the situation panned out to be. Currently, Baron had squadrons that numbered only a tenth of what his enemies had, even if his weapons were more technologically superior, it wouldn’t be much of an advantage if he didn’t utilize them properly. Time was of the essence, and Baron had to think of something for his squads to rally behind before the enemy shot them down one by one with sheer numbers alone. It was time to show them what decades of experience were worth.

BladeMage
Arenya Azural, a dragon-blooded farmer from a small town in the middle of nowhere, always dreamed of being a great hero, battling demons and monsters as a force of magic and power. Now her dream has a chance to become reality - she's a new student at Ba'al Cedric's Academy of Adventurers, a university for warrriors and heroes to learn to battle against the surprisingly amicable demon armies of the neighboring country in an endless war nobody really remembers the point of by now. She's also a BladeMage - an exceedingly rare and exceedingly difficult dual class that few have ever managed to succeed in, but those who have gain immense power. Arenya has a long road ahead of her, with rival students, duels with demons, and a host of benchmarks she must pass in order to keep her scholarship. Will she make it to level 100 and beyond, or die too many times and be forced to return home, tail (literally) between her legs to a life of farming and dreaming of adventure? BladeMage is a LitRPG with a lighter focus on stats. It features battles, leveling up, giant monsters, a bit of fanservice, and more. [Update: The LitRPG elements are proving themselves relatively unimportant as I continue to write. They may be dropped entirely, in which case I will change the prior chapters as well as update this description.] Content warnings: As a story featuring lots of fighting, there will be blood and death. However, since characters rarely die permanently, this will not be a hyperviolent story with extreme gore for the sake of it. Some sexual content and fanservice may be included, but this should remain firmly at the PG-13 level and there will be no sexual violence of any kind. The Cover: Someone suggested that I should have a dragon girl with a miniskirt on the cover. I can't draw and I don't know who to ask or commission, so a few minutes in the GNU Image Manipulation Program and the masterful cover above was created! Please feel free to use your imagination to see a gorgeous half-dragon with azure hair, wings, and a tail, holding a lightning-infused sword while fighting demons.
