《Warfare's Ultimate Frontier》Chapter 243 The First Wave

Though this was an aerial tournament, land forces could be used as well, it was just that it was a bit more troublesome and expensive to do so. Similarly, land tournaments would have land weapons and vehicles as much easier to make and produce as compared to aircraft. That being said, it was a much safer and more cost-effective measure to put most of their resources into building military aircraft. However, U1B would never start a war without proper defenses so they set up their missile defense system and multiple others like the Deepstrike to operational status. With a total of 20 squadrons of 15 planes each, Guan Yu and Yue Fei went to go meet their opponents.
Though they were seriously outnumbered, these two had much more sophisticated and much more individually powerful aircraft at their disposal. This was all thanks to Jaxon Long who provided them with the blueprints to produce such magnificent vehicles of war. In their arsenal contained many early 20th century bombers, fighters, and reconnaissance type planes that were far more superior in every possible way to that of their enemies.
Guan Yu and Yue Fei had chosen these specific planes to get proficient on as they felt that these fit their personal fighting style the best. As such, they knew exactly what to expect from these planes and what they were capable of. They started off the fight with a head-on clash with their assailants. Something that was so surprising to their enemy that their planes were caught off guard and had taken some damage before they were even deployed.
Lu Mu had personally trained these soldiers to the best of her abilities and as such the quality and effectiveness of these pilots were far superior to your average pilot trained by other strategists. Once both sides were properly in the air though, Guan Yu and Yue Fei could see that they would not be able to hold out for long against all of their enemies’ fighters. This did not discourage them though as they already had many tricks up their sleeve to even the playing field. These planes that were under Guan Yu and Yue Fei’s command were super fast and were able to detect when most enemy planes got too close to them. With this technique, they would almost certainly never be ambushed. Although not every single plane had this feature, if placed accordingly would maximize the benefit of such a useful feature.

This battlefield lay slightly to the north of the capital base of the U1B group. After a few more days of not getting anywhere and wasting time, the coalition realized that their first wave would not be able to continue to push forward unless they got some reinforcements. Therefore, on the 4th day since Guan Yu and Yue Fei were sent to intercept the army that was penetrating their lands, a new force would circle around and attack Yue Fei and Guan Yu’s squadrons from behind. However, it seemed as if they were one step behind and the reinforcements that they sent were almost instantly crushed by the ambush that Guan Yu and Yue Fei had set up for them.
The coalition was now in a tough spot, they were already behind schedule and if that wasn’t bad enough, the reinforcements that consisted of 5 groups were now feeding the enemy morale even more. Should they send another reinforcement or should they follow through with the rest of their plan? In the end, they decided to go through with both the second and third acts. Each of these acts involved an army of planes flying to the capital base. The second army left first with a smaller force than the first army that Guan Yu and Yue Fei were dealing with, about two thirds as powerful. This army left the base of the coalition army and headed straight East to the Capital base.
This new group was detected by Baron and without saying a word to the two allies standing right beside him left with his own personal army to intercept this bunch. They did not know that there would be another army coming, but they could guess that this was not all of the forces in the arsenal of such a massive coalition. Plus, they had to have at least one person in the capital base to take control of everything from the multiple battlefields to trying to figure out what the next move of the enemy was. Now, it was Lu Mu and Jaxon Long who would be left alone in the capital base for the time being.

At the same time that baron intercepted the second army, another group of reinforcements went to go aid the first wave. Guan Yu and Yue Fei were a bit annoyed that their allies had not been able to at least warn them of this new threat, but what's done was done. They were already starting to buckle from the massive number of enemies in front of them already, having to deal with even more was not something that they hoped for.
This did not matter now anyway as Guan Yu and Yue Fei had decided to split up their forces to better be in control of their forces and work independently. The numerous enemies that they were pitted up against were seriously cramping up their space and they had hoped to each take half of the enemy along with them to a position that was a bit further away from each other. Even if such a tactic would mean that they incur less damage to their enemy and taking up a bit of time, the tradeoff would surely be worth it.
Guan Yu and Yue Fei were far more proficient with their planes if they were free from any constraints of having to back up any of their allies. The new enemy reinforcements were interesting as they seemed to be able to guess correctly where these two were leading their armies and acted accordingly. It seems as if there was someone actually able to match them in terms of prowess in this new group.

Join his struggles as he tries to find a way home------------------------------------------------------------------------------Authors note: I decided to continue this concept. I'm not really good at writing. I just have some few ideas that I want to bring to life. Also, patience is not my virtue so I tend to overpower my characters too quickly.
