《Warfare's Ultimate Frontier》Chapter 169 The Alliances' Strategy
Advertisement
Baron, Roxi, Guan Yu, and Yue Fei had all decided to retreat all of their forces into a single base, the one that they had bought originally. This was what they had been planning all along, it was quite a bit more difficult to engage in 4 different battlefields than it was to have them all in one place where they were all accounted for. In preparation for this huge fiasco, they had to send out a few armies to give them a bit more time to set up all the necessary precautions. Though this would come at a heavy loss, if Baron and his team did not at least sacrifice this much, they would have no chance of winning.
The alliance’s 4 armies regrouped for a short while to discuss what their battle plans would be and Zhang Da Zhi did nothing more than to reassure them that this battle would be a quick one. His army would attack the base from the South, his two right-hand men would take the East and West sides, and the group of 20 strategists would attack from the North. What was different about this time was that now, all 4 armies, would be going on the offensive as mercilessly as they could.
On Baron’s side, Guan Yu was to take 3 of Meng Wu’s men to defend the Southern wall of the base. Yue Fei would do the same but along the East wall, his opponent would be Ding Lai Hang the aerial commander of the Combined Dragon group. Baron would also do the same but along the West wall against the naval leader of the Combined Dragon group. Roxi and Meng Wu along with 10 of Meng Wu’s men would defend the final Northern wall. The 4 walls did not have many soldiers to go around between them, but they did have quite a few heavy artillery that would prove to be as useful as a couple of thousand soldiers.

They had spread out their defenses to what they predicted their enemies would be doing and had multiple tanks, deepstrikes, missiles, mines, and various other traps that were set up around the walls of the base. The battle began with the soldiers of the alliance attempting to breach all 4 of the walls along with many vehicles that were right there charging along with them. There were pockets of small forests around the base that they had to get through in order to reach the walls, but those were minor inconveniences at best.
Zhang Da Zhi ordered his men to split up into two groups, one that would attack the walls, and another that would stay behind and provide assistance to the first group if needed. He wasn’t aware whether or not the other armies were doing the same thing, but he chose to focus on just his own battles. After all, the strategists that were in this alliance with him were not completely useless. On the front lines, he did not send in any elite guards, nor did he send in any fighters, he solely relied on the soldiers and machinery for the first day of the war.
The first day ended with nothing big happening on any sides and the leaders of the alliance got together with each other to discuss their thoughts on how the war should proceed from this point on. Zhang Da Zhi, Ding Lai Hang, Wu Ji Guang, and the other 50 strategists got together to plan out their next few moves.
(ZDZ) “Any thoughts on how Baron and the rest of them are doing after a day of battle? Anyone?” Zhang Da Zhi asked into the group of 50+ that were all gathered into a makeshift tent sitting on a table with a map of Baron’s base on top.

(WJG) “There really isn’t that much to say, we should just keep doing a war of attrition and we should be able to come out on top eventually. We have sufficient forces guarding our rears in case there are any fools who think that we would be vulnerable in a position like this. So there are really no worries.” Wu Ji Guang stated his opinion.
(DLH) “The way I see it, we should just throw everything we have at them from the next day onwards and we should be able to break them in but a few days to weeks at most. There really is no point in dragging this out any longer than we have to.” Ding Lai Hang also spoke out.
“From what we saw on the North walls today, our enemies are a bunch of brutes and someone who shows how inexperienced they are at warfare. The Northside should pose no viable threat to our chances of success.” A random strategist briefed everyone.
(ZDZ) “That is extremely good to hear, but you must not get complacent. Though we outnumber them, we have no idea what their blueprint situation is and therefore it is always best to proceed with caution.”
(QJG) “I think you are overreacting, Old Zhang. This poor group had the misfortune of being in our sights from the get-go. With how they handled the situation knowing that we would be upon them soon, they still chose to hunker down for a long time until they finally got the brains to figure out what they needed to do some conquering before we arrived.”
(DLH) “Exactly, exactly. If it were up to me, we should have attacked with all of our strength from the beginning, then we could begin to focus on the much bigger opponents.”
(ZDZ) “This does not really matter now, we cannot change the events of our past. However, the task at hand now is of the utmost importance, breach those walls and shows them that we are more superior to them in every way. If even one side is not able to break through their respective walls in 2 weeks’ time, punishments will follow. From this point on, we will cease most communications, and everyone will focus on their own battlefields. Get to your positions.”

I promise terrifying mushrooms, angry snakes, confused gods, even more confused cultivators and much, much more! Update schedule: (02/6/2022) As chapters are done, sorry. Progress: Currently up to old chapter 13-15. Chapter 24(or 25)/13, Parts 1 & 2 will be the end of the rework. Part 2 has been temporarily delayed due to me getting a frozen shoulder in the middle of June, which has been very slow to properly clear up. It is getting better, though, but Shoulder/neck is the worst set of muscles to have issues with ;( You can currently pick up most story threads after the rewritten chapters, starting from chapter 13-14 (old) Genre-wise, this is a bit hard to pin down. It's technically a Xianxia (because cultivators!), but it also veers towards Xuanhuan and has more traditional High Fantasy elements and a bit of Gods and Monsters and All Myths Are (on some levels) Valid. It also has a fairly large, ensemble cast, so if multiple point's of view are not your thing I am sorry. It won't ever really be considered 'grimdark' by any real measure of that definition but it does go to some complicated and fairly places dark occasionally, which I will note in author pre-chapter notes when expedient!. About the Author I mainly write fiction for my own hobby, it makes a nice change from academic scribbling! I started writing this quite a number of years ago. It has grown somewhat organically out of a bunch of different interests in all kinds of Mythology, World Building, Drawing Maps, Archaeology, Anthropology, History and Epic Fantasy fiction into what it is today. So I hope you enjoy the story and thanks for reading! Other stuff The cover is made by the author, using photos taken by the author. There is a Discord Server- Please come and chat, but beware of spoilers.

Becoming The Wolfman
Hello everyone. I’m an avid reader but I’ve never tried writing my own novel to be published. So I’m going for it on Royal Road and let's see what happens. Prologue My story begins while working as a Security Officer. I’m Bill501 aka the Wolfman as I have about 15 different Wolf tattoos. Not that you would know it since I have to cover them all for work. I’m sitting at my desk waiting for lunchtime and greeting all the employees in the building as they walk by. All the sudden I have a splitting headache and I’m trying not to show it because I don’t have sick time and I don’t want to go home sick and lose money. Suddenly a screen comes up but it just looks like floating text. It says Welcome to the System. Hell I read at least 5 novels a week that start that way so I’m like hell yeah so worth the headache. I’m over here saying status and character screen and anything else I can think of to bring up my stats and it doesn’t do shit…. 15 minutes later I get a message that says loading…..

Sect Core
A peak cultivator is betrayed by his sect for being of common birth. The sect decides to not only kill him but transform him into a core, so they can use him for cultivation. But to get full control of all the sects formations, all of his energy has to be banned from the galaxy. In this manner, the main character is thrown into the rift in the middle of the galaxy. This rift transports him into another galaxy, where his journey to become the core of the most prominent sect begins. --- This is my first story, and the release schedule will be spotty in the beginning because I still have to do a lot of world building and thinking where the story should go. But I decided to put it out into the world to get some feedback so I can see what people think about it and maybe even get some inspiration. --- The cover image is not my own. I copied it from the internet. I thought it was cool and it suited the story. All rights reserved for the owner of the image.

Courier
Zoe Blanco moved to New York after fleeing the small town she grew up in and the Purity Church that controls it. The Church believes in keeping humanity pure. This means none of the NanoPCs known as Frames or any other cybernetics that most of the rest of the world uses and enjoys everyday. Upon arriving in the Big Apple, Zoe is picked up by her cousin and witnesses a courier weaving their motorcycle through traffic. Zoe envies the courier's freedom. Couriers transport data and on occasion small objects for anyone willing to pay the price. Secured delivery is guaranteed and no questions are asked. Like having a human servant in this corporate owned world, using couriers is seen as a status symbol for the wealthy and corporate elite. New York's criminal underground uses couriers for similar reasons. This gives the hundreds of couriers in NYC steady work. After weeks of not finding a job while living with her aunt and cousin, Zoe turns to her slicing skills to steal credits from the Purity Church and turns to the mob so she can get a loan to pay for the internal secure storage space a courier needs and a frame for herself. After making an unlicensed run or two, Zoe finds employment with a transport company and truly starts her life as a courier. This story is a mix of light scifi, cyberpunk, slice of life, a dash of action, and a smidge of fantasy. Slicing is what hacking is called in this story. Credits are currency in this story.
