《Warfare's Ultimate Frontier》Chapter 103 Meng Tian’s Update
Advertisement
The moment that the 4 co-leaders of the Yellow Wang faction entered into the small shop, they immediately noticed Baron and the others and vice versa. Bai Qi locked his gaze upon the person that had caused him specifically a great deal of dishonor, Meng Tian. Li mu locked his gaze on Meng Yi, who was the start of that great war ultimately culminating in Bai Qi’s defeat. Meanwhile, Lian Po and Wang Jian just stared at the other 3 while studying them as if analyzing them of anything that he could. Bai Qi was the first to speak.
(BQ) “Humph, I’m not eating here with scrubs like you. You three can stay if you want, but I’m leaving.” Bai Qi said as he turned around to leave.
(MT) “Heh, shouldn’t you show your superiors a little bit of respect? Just leaving without even greeting us?” Meng Tian said poking fun of Bai Qi.
(BQ) “You got lucky is all, if you had even one less element of your plan to take me down missing, then I would have been the victor.” He was halfway out the door when Meng Tian interrupted him one last time.
(MT) “You should know better than most that it doesn’t really matter about what-ifs. All that matters is the result, and the result is that you lost to us.”
Bai Qi said nothing and left before he exploded with anger.
(MT) “Well, he sure took that well.”
(LM) “You shouldn’t tease him like that. I get it, he is a really hard person to be around, in fact, I dare say that there are only a handful of people in this community that hates his guts as much as I do. His actions are deplorable and some of the most bloodthirsty campaigns are under his name. However, he is still one of the 4 co-leaders of the third-highest ranked faction here. You should not let us lose face like this, and especially not like what you did before executing him like that back in the sim.” Li Mu lectured him.

(MT) “Though I am courteous, I feel like having no remorse on this planet is the best response to people like him who just don’t know when to quit. Senior Li Mu.”
(LP) “Haha, I haven’t seen Bai Qi defeated in such a long time, I was wondering when he was going to get his reckoning. Let’s stop this discussion before we have to fight each other over who said what.” Lian Po said trying to deescalate the situation.
(BM) “I think that is enough, Meng Tian. Picking a fight with them is not in our best interest at the moment. I’m sure it is hard enough for us now that we have killed one of their figureheads. Should we provoke them any further, I’m not too sure we have any chance of winning the faction selection tournament.” Baron whispered into Meng Tian’s ears.
(MT) “Very well, this is a time for celebration, we have won a pretty decent award, and you, well you won an entire portion of the tournament. Let us all just sit down and keep to ourselves. What do you say? Save the work talk for later.” Meng Tian announced.
(LP) “Sounds good to me. Let’s go sit over there.”
With that awkward meeting out of the way, Baron’s group continued to their talk about their futures. Out of the corner of his eyes, Baron saw that Lian Po had set a rather peculiar device on their table and it emitted a sort of bluish tinge around them almost enveloping them in a sort of way.
(BM) “Hey guys, do you know what that device is for? I mean other than emitted some blue light?”
(GY) “It’s a pretty rare object around these parts. Through my dealings with the other higher-ranked elders, I have found out that it is actually a device that encases a person or group and doesn’t let sound get out from that bubble of blue light.” Guan Yu said proudly.

(YF) “I have only heard of a few rumors of such a device, I had no idea that it was actually real.” Yue Fei marveled.
(MY) “Is that really what that was for? I have been wondering what that was for.” Meng Yi said with furrowed brows.
(MT) “Hmm? When have you seen it before?”
(MY) “Well, after I was killed by Bai Qi in that simulation, I was watching very intently on the screen that showed what was happening inside the sim. Bai Qi was the person I put most of my attention. When you guys launched that all-out attack he also pulled out a similar device.”
(BM) “Come to think of it, that device would be pretty handy in wars. If we could talk while making sure that no one could hear us, that could make or break our run. I wonder if this is one of the blueprints that the Sun Alliance faction keeps inside their treasury.”
(GY) “I think if it is, one of us should surely use our chance to take it. There is no shortage of ways that this could benefit us.”
(BM) “Agreed.”
(MT) “Baron, I hope you haven’t forgotten our deal.”
(BM) “I haven’t don’t worry. You and your brother are set to leave after you help us achieve our goal of becoming an official faction. Why? Are you planning on staying after all?”
(MT) “That isn’t it, I have got some rather bad news. I received a message from my father recently and it seems that I and my little brother will not be able to help you out if we fail the faction selection tournament the first time.”
(BM) “Oh, I see, before you could help us if we failed the first time, right? Now you can only help us with the coming faction selection tournament… that’s fine, we just have to win the first time around is all.” Baron said with a confident grin on his face.

The Last Science [SE]
[SE has the same content as the original story, split into smaller chunks for easier reading. This story is on a temporary hiatus due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. I work in healthcare and unfortunately no longer have the freetime to continue posting on a regular basis. As soon as our workload decreases, I will return. Thanks for reading! 💙] No one ever knows the whole story. Deep in the forests of the Pacific Northwest, the fading town of Rallsburg stumbles upon an amazing discovery—magic itself. Faced with potentially world-shattering power, the people of Rallsburg keep the secret for themselves. Led by Rachel DuValle, a perpetually underestimated college student with grand ambitions, they seek to found a new society. The world beyond suspects nothing, but magic cannot stay hidden forever. A train arrives in Rallsburg carrying Alden Bensen, a directionless high school graduate. To him, magic could represent meaning for his life, an explanation for his empty existence. This potent force offers anyone the power to change humanity forever—or send it cascading into swift and total annihilation. The Last Science is an ongoing science-fiction / low-fantasy web novel series, focused on the modern world with a twist. New societies bud and grow, but the people who make them up are imperfect and flawed. The story includes elements of mystery, action, crime, interpersonal drama, relationships, philosophy, sociology, politics, and much more, all centered on the perspective characters driving the tale. This is the "Scraps Edition" of the story, where the chapters have been split up into bite-size chunks (roughly 1500-3000 words), for your convenience. The prose has been edited from its original form, with some improvements, but there are no content differences from the original. New chapters will be posted throughout each week starting on Friday and appearing on multiple days thereafter, depending on the length of the chapter. Content Warning (by request): This series delves into some topics and situations which may be upsetting for some readers. In American rating parlance, the narrative would be rated PG-13 (except for language), but some have noted the story can get pretty dark on occasion. Please use your best judgment, and don't be afraid to take breaks and come back later. I'll still be here! [Discord] - come hang out and chat! The Nightcore Trilogy
Going to space was supposed to be the adventure of a lifetime, but for Reece Danielson and his crew, it was only the beginning. As the fresh astronauts aboard the Zhengzhou International Space Station start their on-the-job training, Reece is shown a discovery that changes his entire worldview. It isn’t long before a tragic accident aboard the station sets off a series of events that not only puts the crew in danger but at odds with each other. The events quickly escalate into a man-made apocalyptic incident on the surface of the planet. A virulent plague is prematurely released which transforms everyone into flesh-eating undead, and that is only the beginning of the troubles. There are far worse things down there than zombies and possibly a few of them lurk on the station itself. The Nightcore Trilogy thematically begins with a heavy sci-fi feel coupled to a gritty space-based horror mystery. The story's layers are slowly peeled back, evolving into something much more supernatural, mythological, and high-fantasy-based. It's a mix of elements from survival horror, zombie apocalypses, ancient mythologies, supernatural stories, and harem anime. It contains semi-descriptive sex scenes (traditional and non-traditional), descriptions of gore, profanity, and adult situations, so I recommend it for mature and open-minded audiences only.
