《Overlord in Cultivation》30. The Lost Memories

“Does this lad slam the door in my face on purpose? Or he is really in cultivation?”
Elder Liang looked at the closed door helplessly. He had been here several times, but Su Yan didn’t answer the door and cultivated quite hard inside the room.
The Entrance Examination across Huaxia Alliance was almost over.
Su Yan was restless. When refining his spirit, he found some lost memories.
Su Yan’s spirit seemed to have been hurt before. Buried in the deepest part of the spirit, the memories were dim and strange.
This was a bloody space, huge and endless.
Only a golden dragon roamed in the bloody space. Although its shape was blurred, Su Yan recognized it was the dragon from the dragon coffin on Mount Qomolangma.
Su Yan could even see the dragon coffin on Mount Qomolangma suspending between the heaven and the earth and being enveloped in the air of ancient desolation, as if it had hung there for a long long time.
Su Yan would never forget the dragon coffin on Mountain Qomolangma nor the real dragon!
The dragon’s roar shocked all heavens and hells, and resounded in the whole bloody space. And its breath fell on Su Yan’s body.
These pictures were so vague and Su Yan wondered what he had to do with the dragon.
Unexpectedly, Su Yan saw two familiar people in this space!
Who were they?
Zu Yan and Yin Yisi! They were in the bloody space, too!
“What happened that year? How could Yin Yisi be in league with Zu Yan? Did the dragon bring all of us in this space?”
Su Yan frowned. It was impossible! Although Zu Yan’s antecedents dating back to a hundred years ago were still a mystery now, he knew Yin Yisi through and through!
He desperately controlled and directed the energy of the universe to strengthen his spirit, but to his dismay, he couldn’t remember more.
“Is my spirit too weak?”
Su Yan had to cultivate hard. He wanted to find out how he got in the college.
But a hundred years of memories seemed to be too dark and became a complete a blank.
Su Yan didn’t believe that he had been sleeping for a hundred years. He had to practice the Soul-refining Manual patiently. And his spirit was getting stronger and stronger!
A blaze of spirit fire was burning on Su Yan’s forehead. His spirit energy burst out from his body, and fluctuated, shaking the tables and chairs in the room slightly!
Lin Wanlan would be surprised if she were here that his spirit was strong enough to control objects!
This was so difficult that only second-level chemists could do that. It was no doubt that the origin of Su Yan’s spirit was shocking, because he owned the ability to control objects after about ten days of cultivation!
“What’s this?!”
Su Yan was shocked. His memory seemed to span a long time, in the deepest part of which, Su Yan could feel a great air of immemorial barbarism attacking his heart and spirit.
It seemed like a memory of a long time ago. They appeared much more blurred. Su Yan couldn’t see them clearly, but he did feel the immemorial barbarism and the power of opening up the Chaos.
He was scared. He didn’t quite understand what all this was about. He went back to some extremely old memories.

Su Yan breathed heavily. He stopped searching for these memories. It was too difficult to find them out unless his spirit was a hundred times stronger.
Touching the crystal pendant that he wore around his neck, he thought of one thing about his past history that had troubled him since a hundred years ago.
“Mount Qomolangma!”
Su Yan muttered, “What secret do you hold? What is the dragon coffin on Mount Qomolangma? Who am I?”
While he was lost in thought, he found someone outside.
Su Yan was astonished by this, and it was like he had another eye! Now, his consciousness could go through the wall!
“Incredible! That’s the magic of the spirit!”
He marveled, “How powerful the Soul-refining Manual is! I need to practice it all the time and strengthen my soul to a higher level!”
Although Su Yan failed to recall his memory, he saw a hope.
Elder Liang came again. The exam was had been over.
Seeing Su Yan come out, Elder Liang gave a wry smile and said, “Gosh! You came out! Finally!”
Hearing this, Su Yan said, “I’m sorry! I’ve been so obsessed with practicing the Soul-refining Manual. I’m so sorry to keep you waiting for such a long time.”
“Let’s get in.”
As Su Yan closed the door, Elder Liang, with twitching of his eyelid, frowned slightly, “Su Yan, the Soul-refining Manual is extremely powerful, but you should know who owns it, and Tao Tianhua has overstepped the bounds. Even if Tang Yi won the Soul-refining Manual on a bet, you’d better not tell anyone else about it. Otherwise, things would get out of control.”
“Thanks for reminding me. I’ll keep it a secret.” Su Yan nodded, since Tang Yi had told him about it.
“Well, then I’ll be relieved,” Elder Liang said, “but the Soul-refining Manual is so great that it could stir up desires of people, including me. You are really lucky to get such a manual. I will keep it a secret for you, too. By the way, I wonder how powerful you are in the Awakening Realm.”
“Of course, you don’t have to answer me,” Elder Liang continued, “but the resources you could get would be quite different. The exams in other bases were over, too. Now, they are summarizing the results, and they won’t announce the results except the champion’s!”
“The champion has been decided?” Su Yan asked.
“Yes, almost! There is a guy with special corporeity called Thunder Body in Huaxia City.”
Elder Liang said excitedly, “It’s not the first time that this kind of corporeity has appeared. The one, with such an innate Thunder Body, has an amazing fighting capacity. This guy with Thunder Body has nearly eight hundred horsepower in the Awakening Realm, which is eight times stronger than the average.”
“Although there is a champion, the resources the top twenty get are similar. You don’t have to worry about it. The champion will get some special rewards at best.” Elder Liang laughed.
“But the champion doesn’t mean everything,” Elder Liang smiled, “and when you join in the college and cut a striking figure, you can prove yourself strong or weak. You students are all quite young now. You still have a long way to go!”
Su Yan was finally assured. If he won this championship, which he believed was possible since his ultimate strength should not be inferior to a Thunder Body’s, he might catch Zu Yan’s attention.

“What is the finest resource for one who owns eight hundred horsepower?” Su Yan unhurriedly inquired.
“What he gets is the Heavenly-thunder Bamboo, an extremely rare treasure which I don’t know much about. But I know another guy with an equivalent strength,” Elder Liang solemnly continued, “gets a Body-cultivating Pill!”
“Body-cultivating Pill?” Su Yan’s pupils shrunk, “What is it?”
Elder Liang sang its praises, “Body-cultivating Pill is a third-level elixir refined by chemists. Just like medical liquids, Body-cultivating Pills are made from infrequent materials and even some ores that are scarcely seen on earth. They are so rare that only three or five of them could be produced yearly in our Huaxia Alliance!”
Su Yan was astounded at the low output of Body-cultivating Pill. They must be priceless!
“If one with five hundred horsepower takes a pill, he has a fifty percent chance of breaking own potential limit and gaining greater potential,” Elder Liang said in amazement. “In some previous experiments, some people gained six hundred and seventy horsepower after taking the bill!”
“However, the efficacy of the pill was greatly weakened during the process of limit breaking. Let’s say, you take a Body-cultivating Pill when you own seven hundred horsepower, and it’s likely you will reach eight hundred horsepower which is infinitely approximate to the strength of Warlord Zu Yan!”
“I am really envious that you guys are lucky to have such a great cultivation environment,” Elder Liang sighed with emotion. “You know, about ten years ago, only one Body-cultivating Pill could be produced in Huaxia Alliance every year!”
“Do you think I could have one?” Su Yan asked eagerly.
“It is possible. And if you attain seven hundred horsepower, the college will just grant you one.”
Hardly had Elder Liang finished the sentence before Su Yan punched his fist toward him. Right in the palm of Elder Liang came his forceful punch, with a sharp whistling. The fiery qi burned up the air, even more deadly than half a month ago when he cut a striking figure in the martial skills competition. Elder Liang sensed quivers all over his palm!
“Impressive!”
Elder Liang, with his eyes wide open and an ecstatic look on his face, was surprised by Su Yan and his great punch. He just realized how strong Su Yan had become. Seven hundred horsepower!
In this way Su Yan could be listed in the top 3 or at least top 5 in the Awakening Realm.
A smile climbed up Su Yan’s face. He knew besides the third-level elixir - Body-cultivating Pill, there would be other incredible resources provided to him.
“Well enough. You can prepare for tomorrow’s trip to the Huaxia College.”
Elder Liang had no intention of sticking around. Su Yan was now apparently in a great mood because of his promising future.
He left his dorm to visit Tang Yi who, after hearing the whole “Body-cultivating Pill” thing, was visibly touched by the magical pills. Tang Yi nodded, “Body-cultivating Pill is wonderful. It not only helps you gain strength but also helps to converge supernatural power in you. It will do you big favors in awakening.”
“Please be careful in Huaxia College. Think twice before you act, okay?” Tang Yi exhorted Su Yan.
“I have only one friend in Huaxia College. I have texted him and he promised he would secretly look after you.” Tang Yi’s words put Su Yan in a trance, “Oh right! Senior Tang, please enlighten me. Who I should choose to be my mentor?” Tang Yi laughed and answered, “We are in modern civilization instead of the ancient times. The one who dares accept you as apprentice is certainly not ordinary. Don’t worry about it. It is just the same as going to school and one may have many mentors.”
“I see! I’m leaving tomorrow. Please take care of yourself, Senior Tang! I’ll visit you as soon as I can!” Su Yan waved goodbye to Tang Yi.
“It’s time for me to leave too, I suppose,” Tang Yi murmured to himself after seeing Su Yan off. “When will Zu Yan open the Mausoleum of the First Emperor of Qin? Probably not now. But 'Tao' will soon appear in the world. And once the day comes, Zu Yan will probably be the ruler of the world in no time!”
Only about twenty people from the Base No.9 were accepted by Huaxia College. The elimination rate was dramatically high.
It only took two hours from the Base No.9 to the Huaxia College.
In the next morning, people assembled by the Base No.9’s gate which was the access into Huaxia City. Since the establishment of Huaxia City, no door in any base had once been broken!
“Su Yan!” Jing Yangyu roared with clenched hands clenching and livid face when he saw Su Yan. If it weren't for Jing Yanghui standing here and holding up him, Jing Yangyu would have gone ballistic already.
The fact that he wetted his pants the other day had made him a laughingstock. He was so ashamed.
Meeting enemies opens old wounds!
Su Yan threw a devil-may-care attitude and a humph at him. He would not have been disgraced if he hadn’t given Su Yan a sneak attack.
Bai MengYing had some concerns about Su Yan since he had offended two elites from Prime Faction. It would surely stir a disturbance in Huaxia College, so he might get into trouble there.
What surprised Su Yan was that Xiang Yang was standing next to Tao Tianhua with his distant and stone-cold eyes fixing on Su Yan. It didn’t take long for Xiang Yang to notice Bai Mengying who was standing by Su Yan’s side. The scene made Xiang Yang look awful like he just swallowed a fly.
“Aha, Su Yan. See you again. You know I’d love to see who’s gonna accept you as a disciple, 'cause in Huaxia College you’re worthless without a mentor!”
Tao Tianhua looked down upon Su Yan as always and sneered silently, “I’m not done with you yet!”
“What?” Su Yan noticed a fiery qi coming out of the Dragon Totem!
This was the sign of numerous treasures coming to light. “At least a dozen of treasures.” He looked at the wilderness with astonishment.
“Is something big happening in the wilderness again?”
Elder Liang still hadn’t arrived. Su Yan couldn’t help wondering, “Are there treasures discovered in the wilderness?”
