Su Yan left Frozen College without telling anyone. The steel-forged Base 9 had closed all of its gates except one.

It was guarded by thousands of prepared soldiers with cold weapons in case that the beast kings would avenge themselves on the Base, giving those who approached it a chill.

“Graduates from higher institutions with neither power nor money are only left with two options, join the army which is facilitated to Huashia Alliance or an independent organization to kill beasts for money. The former is much safer.”

It was known that killing beasts could make money, but it also required strong capabilities. Not everyone could enjoy the life in a harsh society.

A lot of people chose to leave Base 9 at this time, so did Su Yan. He could still smell blood along the way, making him intense.

“That young boy moves so fast!”

Su Yan started to run after he left the crowd. He disappeared in the sight of others as fast as a cheetah.

However, two men and a woman who were at almost the same age as Su Yan followed him. They ran as fast as him and the leader was a male student in black with an ugly scar on his face which was clearly left by some beast.

“Why are you following me?” Su Yan stopped at a big stone and asked with eyes fixed on the three followers.

The leader did not answer. Instead a student with a long sword in his hand came forward and surveyed Su Yan’s uniform. “A student from Frozen College! You look strong. Come and join us. We can look after each other.”

His name was An Yuandong. He lifted his brows when Su Yan shook his head and then pointed at the student with a scar on his face, “This is Tong Gaoyang from Chingjun College, a top talent in the Waking Realm. Do you see the scar on his face? That was an injury left by a beast lord!”

Tong raised his head proudly. The scar on his face was an honor that he had survived from the claws of the beast lords, powerful beasts that had reached the Destiny Spring Realm. Anyone who heard this would look up to him a bit.

“Thank you for your kindness, but my teacher is waiting for me ahead. I have to meet with him.”

Su Yan began to run again after he refused their invitation. Darkness crept on An Yuandong’s face and a hint of coldness flashed across Tong’s eyes.

“He is really unappreciative. He will get himself killed all by himself in the wildness region, won’t he, Brother Gaoyang? How dare he reject the honor to join us?”

“Hum, maybe it’s better he’s leaving. The treasure is so valuable that it’ll do us no good if the news gets leaked.” An Yuandong groaned.

Su Yan cared less about the little incident.

Wildness 024 was hundreds of miles away and the quietness would soon be broken.

Blood smell still haunted this place and signs of fighting were seen everywhere.

“It disappeared!”

His heart missed a beat for the he Dragon Token suddenly cooled down. Did that mean the treasure was found already?

He was not sure. He hid low in the weed and scanned the area. His eyesight was improved and he was able to see clearly as far as 1000 meters.

“No need to hurry. It’s too dangerous for me to go Wildness 024 now. I’d better have some practice first.”

He took the map from his backpack and hit the road again after he confirmed the destination.

Until daybreak he had run for nearly 6 miles. Though he had not encountered any danger, he did not let down his guard.

Just when he climbed over a mountain, a chill crept on his back. He fell down on the ground at once and a gulp of wind blew over his body.

He immediately rolled up from the ground and gazed at the beast missed its target. That was so close!

It was a wild wolf, tall and bit, with green eyes staring at Su Yan. Without delay, it sprang at him as fast as lightening.

Common people would be terrified to death when facing with such a fierce beast.

But Su Yan was no common person. He would not allow himself to be bewildered, or he would be dead without doubt.

The wolf was fast. It lashed out with its claws, so powerful that the air exploded.

At the same time, Su Yan made his move. He lunged forward, stretched out his hands to grasp the wolf’s claws and lifted his feet to kick at its belly.

His heart pounded, but the more nervous he was the clearer his brain got.

He quickly assessed the wolf’s energy and its attack direction. His Qi and blood was boiling inside, and his whole body was on fire like a stove!

The wild wolf was intimidated. Clearly he was highly intelligent, so he panicked and retreated instantly.

“Where are you running?”

Su Yan shouted. He did not catch the wolf’s claws, so he clenched his hands into fists, leaped high in the air and dived down like a tiger dashing down the mountain.

“Burst Boxing!”

He threw a pouch in a distance. The strong energy his fists brought shuddered the air and knocked over the running wolf. It rolled for several times and escaped.

Su Yan did not run after it. Though its fur and teeth could sell for money, big noise would also draw more beasts to come.

“I was too slow. The wolf had only 50 horsepower. I could have killed it if with that one move.”

“Or I should have seized it and then kill it unexpectedly. I should not exert all of my energy at once.”

“And the Burst Boxing could only work in a distance and it has limited effect yet exhausting too much energy. I shall not use it if I can.”

Su Yan blamed himself in secret. The wild wolf could sell for at least 3000 Huashia coins which was a huge fortune for him considering he had none of it right now.

“Adventure here is quite different than competition at school. Only life and death experience will help me to discover my disadvantages.”

He clenched his fists and chose to stay instead of keep going. He wanted to accumulate more fighting experience before he went to Wildness 024.

He swept this area with great caution and explored the landform. There were a lot of beasts.

His adventure began just like this. He focused on improving his martial arts by fighting beasts with the Shape & Soul Boxing and in the mean while refining his Qi and blood to consolidate his physical strength.

When the day passed, he had not met another beast. He spent the night at a cave from where he could see powerful beasts breathing in and out the essence of the sun and moon on the top of mountains far away.

“It surfaced again!”

At daybreak the Dragon Token burned again. Excitement welled up in his heart. He wondered the treasure might only show up during midnight due to special reasons.

Soon the beasts that had gone out for food returned to their dens.

Three days passed and Su Yan felt out the situation within an area of 1000-meter radius. Then he broke into a den with his black cudgel which was made of supreme folly and could smash a huge stone into pieces with one blow.

The wild wolf howled in rage. It was the same man who had attacked it. It hardly had time to dodge when the black cudgel came right at it. Blood spilled out from its claws, but they were too hard to break.

Burst Boxing containing all the energy of Su Yan followed right after that as fast as lightening.

The wolf’s neck was hit. The devastating fists killed it immediately.

“It’s dead!”

It was so exciting. Su Yan grinned at the dead wolf. Its broken fur greatly decreased its value.

He took out a dagger to harvest all the material that could be sold, which made him disgusting. He produced a forced smile, “I have to get used to it. And the dagger is blunt. I must make more money to buy a sharper one.”

After he finished, he roasted one of the wolf’s legs, which reminded him of the old Tibetan that had taught him how to process venison and of Yin Yisi who had cooked with him many times at the home of the old Tibetan. He felt silent.

After a while, he gave out a sigh. The roasted wolf’s leg smelled delicious, arousing his appetite.

Soon he gulped down the whole leg that weighed at least more than several kilos, shocked.

Such huge appetite always came with freaking digestive ability and hotness surged inside his body in a minute. He then sat with his legs crossed to practice the Premier Indescription.

Soon he felt the Qi and blood got richer and his flesh and bones strengthened as if he had a power pill.

“The poor read and the rich exercise martial arts!”

“I just had some ordinary beast meat, what if I had reishi or ginseng? It is said there is precious drug fluid selling in some big stores.”

“The mutated rice is so expensive that no ordinary people can afford.”

Su Yan swallowed a breath of air. Thought the beast meat was not comparable to the Original Essential Stone, it still would have amazing effect if one ate it from the childhood.

“I need to strengthen myself before practicing the martial arts.”

His eyes brightened and then he disappeared from the cave and went to his next destination.

Half month passed.

On a cliff stood a bloody shadow, so fierce that he could be seen far away.

He threw out thunder-like pouches one after one and his Qi and blood ran through his flesh and bones like wild horse galloping. Every move of his was terrifying.

“Open!”

Su Yan gave out a long scream. His black hair danced in the wind stirred up by his fists and waist-high stone was smashed into ashes.

“Hahaha, I must have 100 horsepower now!”

He laughed. In more than half a month, his energy had doubled, his control over his Qi and blood improved and he had been strong enough to kill 15 beats.

He buried all the valuable things he had collected deep in the soil under the cliff. Finally he was ready to cross over 30 miles to Wildness 024.

“Mountain treasure, I am coming!”
