They reached the sect in an approximately 2 hours of time. The sect location is just beside Ravine City, quite far inside the Forest of Miracles. Quite the fabolous name isn’t it? Everything here could not be considered miracles because everyone knew that it was made of qi, but in the Forest of Miracles, no traces of qi could be felt. Not even a trace of a Deceiving Dome or a formation for deceiving people. And even then the forest always produced animal sounds, but when it was checked, there would be no animal there. Nobody ever dared to check far into the forest because it was the headquarters of Divine Ravine of Hope Sect.
For Divine Ravine of Hope Sect itself, this forest is a gift from the heaven. Their ancestors built it here and nobody, even the sect master of every generations, knew how to go there without teleportation portals. Rather than erasing their happiness, it increased their advantages instead. Apart from using the strage phenomenon as a natural barrier to prevent large scale invaders, the barriers also stopped qi from flowing outside, so every part of the sect’s air are rich of qi.
Tethra and co. could reach the sect easily because there were teleportation portals on the branch sect in the Ravine City. The branch sect was not used for students, instead it only acted as a recruitment office when the time of recruitment came, exactly every spring. Students from all over Differ Continent came to the Ravine City to study inside the sect because it acted as the main academy of Differ Continent.
Actually it only took 10 minutes to reach the sect, and for the rest of the time, it was used to wait Lin Xiang and Ke Long battle. At first, Tethra was bored because he had to take care of their bodies, but when he saw the battle, he suddenly become dazed, and memories started to came out of his mind. Even after they finished, Tethra was still in the dazed state, so they just brought him along to the teleportation spell.

Cloud was still covering the night sky, but night time of a forest is always both an amazing and creepy sight. Shadow of animals ran past by in the depth of the forest, owls perched on tree branches, cicadas continued to chirp despite of the cloudy summer night, breezes slowly shook tree leaves making it quite lively, and finally the most wonderful sight were the buildings just in front of Tethra and the others.
The buildings made up the entire of Divine Ravine of Hope Sect. It stretched as far as eye can see. The gate of the sect instead, didn’t actually look luxurious, rather it gave off ancient feeling like seeing our ancestor’s inheritance. Every time Lin Xiang, Ke Long, and Lin Bao saw this gate, they always felt this suffocating feeling, the longer they look, the harder for them to breathe, so they stopped seeing the gate and turned their attention the the still dazed Tethra.
“When will this guy woke up? Is this what they called a state of enlightment?”
“Actually i don’t think so. Based on every enlightment simulator i’ve ever tried, the enlightment could be seen as a trance, not a dazed state. So i didn’t really know what happened to him”
“He had been like this since he saw the two of you battled, at first i actually think that he was enlightened and felt it will be good to him before he entered the sect. But he was still in this dazed state even for now, so i started to get worried”
“Don’t worry, it will be okay, i will make sure nothing happened to him, i have been checking on him since he entered this dazed state” Elder Pan assured them of their worry. When Tethra started to stare dazedly at the battle, Elder Pan already got startled by the qi that came out of Tethra’s head. When he first met him, he didn’t even has a shred of qi, now qi started to pour out of him. Elder Pan concluded that some parts of Tethra’s memories must be sealed with some requirement to open the seal and after part of the seal opened, the qi that was used to seal seeped out of his head to the atmosphere. No one seemed to notice the qi because the qi was very obsecure, probably it was because of Elder Pan’s cultivation that he could see that.

Elder Pan wondered what kind of character that had sealed Tethra’s memory. That kind of technique could only be learned in the cultivation realm above immortals, ‘this kid is really mysterious’, Elder Pan thought. He kept observing the amount of qi that came out of Tethra’s head. At the start of the battle, it was quite rich, later it got more sparse, so after a time the qi died down and didn’t come out of Tethra’s head anymore.
“He will wake up soon, don’t worry” Just as Elder Pan said it, Tethra’s eyes came back to normal, and his hung head snapped back straight. He remembered it all. The martial arts training with his grandpa, his grandpa’s urgent message, his grandpa’s escape, his first meeting with the immortal, but that’s all. It only reached there but the memory stopped coming to him. He now knew a way to open more of his memories. Truthfully, he came to Friche not purely to become friend with him, he wanted to know if Friche could unveil his memories. But later, they hit it off, so he started to abandon his dream to unveil his memories because he rather find a future than keep looking at the back. Of course, he wouldn’t waste this chance he got by pure luck. He would keep trying until he remembered his grandpa. He only knew one thing and that clue was given to him by his grandpa.
“Don’t defy the heavens, Tethra, or they may punish you. But if you are going to defy the heavens, do it thoroughly until you can mess up the heavens for all the punishment they have given you along the way. These martial arts that i taught you, will be your foundation later. I’m forced to do this because if you’re pursuing for peaceful life, you’re not allowed to know me and to know this, but if you one day decided to pursue me, find something connected to gods. For now this is our parting, i hope you will choose your best path for the future” Tethra’s Grandpa left those word along his leaving with the immortals.
Tethra tried to reach for him, but he lost his consciousness and the next time he woke up, he remembered nothing. Nothing at all, other than the fact that his grandpa left him alone. At first, he hated his grandpa for this, but he remembered something. Grandpa always do things with meaning. So, he stopped hating his grandpa and lived his life normally while trying to open his memories, until now.
“Grandpa, i will find you for sure! I know your other clues were placed inside the other parts of the seal, so i will find a way to break this seal and find you! I promise!” Tethra determined in his heart to find his Grandpa. But first, he had to get strong first, because from the memory he got, the one that his Grandpa was leaving with, the immortals, had suffocating aura.
“Let’s go now! To the sect we go! To the peak of strength we walk! To the promising future we tread!” Tethra triumphantly walked to the gate of the sect....
Just to be rebounded by something that protected the gate.
“Uhh, sorry we forgot to tell you that this barrier could only be passed by school’s resident. New students have to register first...” Lin Bao apologized while holding his laughter. Meanwhile, Lin Xiang already laughed his ass off while rolling on the ground and Ke Long chuckled a bit. Elder Pan only smiled seeing youngsters’ rashness.
“What?! Why didn’t you told me earlier??!! You ruined my triumphant entrace!!!”

BODY&SHADOW
AN ILLUSTRATED NOVEL • UPDATES TUESDAY AND FRIDAY In a time before living memory, the King Dragon of the Void watched the world and realized there was a crack. He realized that humanity was destroying the rock upon which they lived; they leaked life’s code into the churning chaos. At first the change was imperceptible: nanites overtook microorganisms, bacteria, viruses, amoebas. Insects became increasingly inorganic; birds and lizards followed soon after. Even humans were infected by their own advances, cell by cell, till there was not a person left on earth who wasn’t at least part synthetic, the product of a prior generation’s carelessness. The world’s population was ravaged by mechanical viruses with no vaccines; they were mercilessly overtaken by bacteria that knew no death. Soon, most of the planet was empty and only a handful remained who remembered the hedonist realm they came from; only a few were left who remembered what the world looked like when their buildings touched the sky. The King Dragon of the Void watched the rock turn. He watched humans cower as the Old World fell down around them; watched their great monuments crumble into dusty ruins; watched their codes become precious, ancient gem memories forged under the crushing pressure of so many fallen stones. The world has spun many times around the sun since chaos swallowed man whole. It is a simpler time than the one that died out, but the people now are not immune to the folly of the people before. There is old code everywhere: in the water, in the air, in the trees. The heart of man has been replaced by power cores, many of which are hard-coded with preternatural abilities—when they die, an esoteric mountain sect collects their cores and stores them in their hollow mountain home to preserve the sanctity and dignity of human death. They’ve learned to harness artifacts of the old world, gemstones full of codes their nanite infused bodies can parse as spells imbuing their users with great power; they inlay them into their bodies, into their skins, connected to their cores by copper conduit and gold tracers; they dress themselves in tattoos to advertise their prowess; they battle for relics in arenas, fight for them in the open world wherever they are found. The King Dragon of the Void watches the rock turn and wonders: when will this hunger finally make the rock stop spinning? WELCOME TO FANXING CITY … Twenty-five years ago, Fanxing City and the surrounding lands were commanded by the mad King Zao Beiguan. For many years, the King hoarded wealth, artifacts, food; he demanded tribute from a people already taxed to the edges of their existence and expected they be happy with their circumstances. Noncompliance was often punished harshly, bodies displayed proudly on Fanxing’s streets as a warning, from the city gates to the Zao palace’s golden doors. The youths of several prominent clans came together to overthrow the tyrant and made names for themselves as legendary heroes across the land: Tian, Ren, Feng, Gui, Ma, and Zhenxi. Even wanderers from the Luanshi sect descended from Yunji mountain to aid the rebellion. When the dust settled after three years, Tian Yunyong ascended the throne of Fanxing and swore to honour his slain father’s memory, and has maintained Fanxing’s peace with generosity and mercy where fear and cruelty once reigned.
