Chapter 4- taming a 'Monarch' as a subordinate
I headed towards the pile of corpses to search for the cores as the battle had already ended so I decided to collect them and absorb them before looking for useful weapons, I realized that H had to make use of the 'Core absorption' ability to make for the level gap.
After searching the bloody corpses, I collected about 6 cores from the lizardman commanders including the one I got at the beginning and then I activated my innate ability.
[You have activated the innate skill 'Undying will', for 30 minutes all of your stats will receive a 15% boost, in addition you will have the special effect of pain resistance for this duration]
I put the 6 cores all in my mouth as I used the 'Core absorption' ability and I felt the power circulating inside my body.
[As you have used the 'Core absorption' ability you gained, strength+2, agility+1 and magic+2]
It just happened like that and I gained stats that were comparable to leveling up once, it could be said that this special ability was one of the reasons for my survival as I couldn't imagine how hard fighting would have been without this ability.
But I also came to realize that it isn't this easy as absorbing 6 cores only gave me this much stats which was incomparable with the effect of the first demon core, it can be said that as my body gets more strengthened through level ups and absorbing cores, low monsters' cores become less effective.
Then at last, I took the last ore in my hand, it looked a bit bigger and it was giving out a faint light, yes, this was the core of the lizard man general, I pushed it through my mouth and I began felling the pain even though I had pain resistance which was strange but then some information started to appear in my mind.
[As you have used the 'Core absorption' ability you gained, strength+1 and constitution+1]
[You have learned the special skill 'Subordinates taming' lv 1]

['Subordinates taming' (Special skill) lv 1
Skill description: you can tame monsters as your subordinates depending at your compatibility with him; the subordinate cannot harm his master after being tame.
Skill limit: you can only tame one subordinate at this level]
After completely digesting the information about the skill, I started heading towards the black box to collect the reward for clearing the floor, when I opened it, I found a small ring inside the box with a strange dragon mark engraved at it.
['Space dragon ring' (spatial item) (D+)
Item description: a spatial ring created by a famous blacksmith using the special scales that was left by the dragon that could use space magic after shading his skin, it can about 50 different objects.
Special effect: this is a growth item the number of items that can be stored can increase by absorbing other spatial items]
Black explained how this ring works to me, I had to establish contact with the ring by dripping a drop of my blood at it.
After that I started dismantling the monsters to store their meat and blood for later now that I got the space ring, hmm.., such a convenient item.
After getting done with my work, I slept to get rid of my tiredness.
@ ____________ @
In the next morning I prepared to go to the next floor, I got on the teleportation circle and I arrived there in a second.
The monsters here were also lizardmen but there was two changes, First the lizardmen mob weren't soldiers but knights that were riding crocodile-like creatures and Although their numbers were small but their levels were higher
{ lizardman Knight lv 6 }
The second change that there was large snakes crawling on the floor
{ poisnous snake lv 5 }
The fight was somewhat hard, using 'Whirlwind spear' could only kill one of them as they weren't near each other so the efficiency of the skill lower in this floor, as such I realized that I was lacking mana, even though I could replenish it with blood but that wasn't easy, as I couldn't drink it while fighting the Knights, as such I realized that it was important to invest some stats points in magic for the future to raise my mana.

[You have leveled up]
[You received 5 stats points for leveling up]
The fight was hard but I wasn't in the same miserable state which I was in during the fight in the first floor, I took the chance that there was no knights around me and I retreated to the rest area.
While resting and having a meal I noticed that there was a shadow heading towards me, I avoided it quickly using shadow steps.
[You used the skill 'Shadow steps', your speed becomes accelerated by 30% and your reflexes will get faster]
Then I saw the panel around the shadow's head
{ Shadow venom monarch (infant) lv 10 }
After looking at it I realized that it was a snake just like the other snakes but it was somehow different, it looked more majestic and its body was smaller but it was so fast, by seeing the name you can understand that it was a high leveled creature which was at this level while still being an infant, it looked like most of the stats were in its agility which was its strong point as well as its venom.
Engaging in a battle such as this was hard even while using 'Shadow steps' all I could do was to barely avoid its attacks.
[The agility skill 'Shadow steps became lv 4, the acceleration of you speed gets to 50% and your reflexes will get more faster]
Without realizing, 'Shadow steps already leveled up but I still couldn't attack and all I could do was to avoid its attacks.
Suddenly a strange idea flashed in my head and then I stopped avoiding and I activated my precious innate skill.
The snake attacked my neck but before the venom was released into my neck I shouted.
"Subordinates taming"
[You have used 'Subordinates taming', calculating your compatibility with the target….]
[Your compatibility with the target is at 93%, taming started]
[Taming the target has succeeded]
As I already knew that in order to tame a monster, I had to make a blood pact with it so letting the snake bite me was all in order to get my blood on him, although I knew this was a risky situation providing that taming won't be successful all the times but if it worked, the tamed monster won't bring its master any harm and that is how my strategy was a success.
After that the 'Shadow venom monarch' which I decided to call him venom for short started rubbing his head at my chest after taking his fangs out of my neck, it seemed to regret biting me as it seemed to be reflecting on its self.
I realized that I could see his stats after he became my subordinate.
[Name: venom]
Race: 'Shadow venom monarch' (infant)
Level: 10
Health 200/200
Mana 100/100
Strength 15
Constitution 20
Agility 45
Magic 10
Endurance 12
Charm 10
[Skills]: 'Venomous bite' (inherent skill)
[Titles]: 'Monarch of speed'
It looked like his high agility stats and that strange title was what made him so fast like if he was a shadow, whatever, it was already good that I gained a powerful subordinate and by this the fight can get easier with venom by my side.
After resting for some time, I took venom with me as we headed to the battle field again.
In my way I started distributing the points I got from my level up.
[Name: Light thunderflame]
Race: human
Level: 4
Health 160/160
Mana 80/80
Strength 28 (+1)
Constitution 16
Agility 26 (+1)
