《Sad Water Sailors (Horror-adventure)》Javier y Armin

"What did you come for, Javier?" Ricardo asked, although he already sensed the reason.
"I'm a man who always pays his debts, boy, you decided on my problem and I on yours, I just came to look for Armin's eyes, you have them ready, right?" Javier said with a smile on his face.
"Sure, sure..." Ricardo walked over to a box and took out a small vial with a pair of eyes on it and handed it to the bearded man.
"It really is a pity..." Barbubo said, looking at the pair of eyes in the vial fondly.
"The boy knew too much, and we are about to reach the port, it is better to clear our name these two weeks, don't you think?" Said Ricardo, trying to raise Javier's morale, who was somewhat depressed by the loss of Armin.
"It's a shame, it was fun while it lasted... But in the end it was like my father used to say, cute toys break easily ha ha ha" Javier laughed throughout the kitchen, while he placed his hand on his stomach.
"Ha, ha, ha" Ricardo accompanied, with some happiness to see that this friend of his was fine.
'How sick we are, but it's accept it or lose yourself….' Taras thought looking at the scene from the door, she had explained it quite clearly to Ricardo, until they reach the port there are only friends and enemies, there is no middle ground.
"As I said before, the debt was already settled last night and Tomás is already dead, I killed him last night, so he won't cause any more problems, otherwise I came to visit you for something else, boy" Javier said looking seriously at the young man cabin boy.
"Tonight they are going to try to kill Ron and make a mutiny, here is the list of names, there are 2000 badges per name, the captain pays for it, of course, but I want you as an intermediary, I don't want to see my name in the middle, guy". Javier said, patting Ricardo on the back and handing him a crumpled piece of paper.

"And what do I win or do we win?" Ricardo asked, somewhat worried by the news.
"500 caps per head, and they divide it between the two" Javier said with a confident smile, showing the few black teeth he had in his mouth
"Treatment!" Taras yelled from the door, almost instinctively, upon hearing the number.
After discussing the details, the three said goodbye with a smile, and when the door was closed the smile of the two boys disappeared.
"We're losing our minds more and more, Taras…" Ricardo said, somewhat embarrassed.
"Yes, but we're still alive and that's what matters, don't think about it so much, it wasn't wrong to kill a boy to save our asses". Taras answered, although he knew that it was easier for him, because Armir was just another fish that fell for the hook, but for Ricardo, he was a poor bastard.
"Armin was a good way to control Javier, but Tomas was a pain in the ass, and he had to die, it was difficult for us to kill him, just as it was difficult for Javier to kill Armin... it was a good exchange of favors" Taras said giving him some pats on the back of Ricardo
"Don't get depressed boy, this is not the time, only the strong survive in hard times, the time will come to mourn all these deaths"
"Tomás is dead, luckily, he knew too much... if the rest found out where the good ingredients came from, things could get dangerous for us" Ricardo answered a little more relaxed as if a great weight had been lifted from his shoulders , while I began to cook again.
"Otherwise, a riot is a good opportunity to search the warehouse and see if Paulo's drugs were really where Dima said" Taras said as he prepared some fish.
"With drugs, surviving is going to be easy, the problem this week is more the lack of alcohol, than the fact that people want to clear their name before reaching port " said Ricardo

Please note: the Sexual Content tag is there due to a single brief plot-relevant scene, which has a warning at the beginning. For other details, read the full description below. Rating breakdown, since that should be public info: 5 x 5*, 2 x 4.5*, 1 x 0.5* During a blackout, a frail and ragged old woman stops to ask for a glass of water from a backyard barbecue party. Given a good supper instead, she looks around the group, and tells them, "Be who and what you truly are." Days later, seven of the people from the barbecue find themselves drawn into a trap laid by a pair of wizards and their accomplices, who kidnap them into a bubble reality. All seven, who have known each other all their lives, are informed that they are not in fact entirely human: they have active fae blood, due to a series of conditions culminating with the blessing of the elderly fae woman. The transformation into fae form comes as a shock: all seven, whether originally female or male, find themselves now unreasonably beautiful women. More urgent even than that, though, is their captivity. Getting back to the real world is a higher priority than this metamorphosis that rapidly begins to feel natural... but this is only the first step, as the diverse types of fae blood they carry begin to surface. With no resources except themselves, how can they escape this prison? If they succeed, how can they possibly reclaim their lives? Just how many other faelings have been kidnapped, anyway, and what happened to them? And is there a way to make sure that their captors never put anyone else through this? Back in the real world, Kayla, who learned long ago to trust her gut instincts, is absolutely certain that something is very wrong. The pattern in the list of missing friends is easy to spot, but makes no sense at all. Then a young woman turns up at the backyard gate who knows more than she should, and even though her explanation makes even less sense, every instinct tells Kayla that Riley is her only way to get them back. If they're not quite what they were, well, that's a bridge to cross later... Just a little note: I'm a big believer in endings that are upbeat but not candy-coated, and not a fan of grim-and-gritty or of glamorized violence. These are adults in a difficult situation. However, no one gets raped, and the physical violence is, all things considered, fairly minimal. There is some harassment, sexual and otherwise, and also some mild restraint and mild verbal abuse. Complicating factors are generally wizardly or fae in nature. If I need to warn you about gender in this being all over the map, some of it reality-based rather than fantasy-based, highly diverse sexuality, or that there is (especially later) some indirect fetish/BDSM imagery and honest character discussion, then you probably should just avoid everything I write. :-) Also available on Scribble Hub.

The Good Crash: An Oral History of the Post-Scarcity Collapse
"Don't we all feel, deep down, that we deserve the apocalypse?" APRIL, 2028—Global capitalism has collapsed. America has sealed itself off from the outside world, and inside its borders, a revolution rages. All it took was one incredible little machine. That machine turned into two, then four, then eight... like a virus, the replicators spread. As a work of oral history, The Good Crash features over 50 interviews with key witnesses to the events of 2027. The text is rendered in the words used by the interviewees themselves, with light editing for clarity and concision. As such, the book contains language and themes that are not appropriate for children.By capturing the voices to the people at the very root of the revolution, journalist and historian R. Vondersnitch has traced the origins and aftermath of the replicators' rapid spread. Crucially, the book also includes perspectives and testimony from those who attempted to stop the spread of the reps. "Some of these are heroes, too, in their own ways," the author writes in the book's introductory note.

Ghostified City
‘Ghostified City’ is a post-dystopian sci-fi tale, set in a fading world that might be a future version of ours, running out on autopilot into oblivion. Adaman Yimmand is a simple robofactory operator in The City who's working with robots and machines every day. He doesn’t even realise that he might not have met another actual human being in years. Everything begins when he breaks his routine for once and enters a bar where he meets Evelith. This pesky other person does not let him go after he has had his -rather terrible- beer, because according to her actual humans are much rarer than he’s aware of. And from then on ‘the genie is out of the bottle and won’t get back in’, to use her words: Adaman meets more people, and gradually he has no choice but to accept that the reality of The City is not what he always thought it was, and to face the darkness of a fading humanity on the brink of self-inflicted extinction. Is there any hope left for him, and for his species? I have selected 'sexual content' and 'traumatising content' to be on the safe side, because there is a stripclub-like venue in the background of the story, and an almost-extinct humanity that has institutionalised suicide which might be disturbing to some. Apart from that it's not really a heavy 'adult' story.('Ghostified City' is my first long story in English as opposed to my native language Dutch, and an earlier version was published on my fiction blog 'Oranderra' until I stopped updating. This is a slightly altered version of the first series.)
