Kye was sitting in a waiting room with two doors either side of the metal bench he sat on. One led to the arena where he would undergo Tyson's test and the other led to the facility the arena was held in. Kye had his armoured jaket on and gauntlet at the ready, with a pistol strapped in his jacket as well should he need it. His unarmed fighting style precluded him from wielding the pistol in his unarmoured hand so it was one or the other. A small light was installed next to the door that led to the arena, it was currently a solid red. Once that light went green, Kye would enter the arena and face down the opponent Tyson had prepared for him. Kye was still unsure as to who his opponent would be, but he had confidence in his own strength. This would be a small taste of the type of environment he would be immersed in at the Divine Academy so Kye was slightly anxious. He bounced his left leg rapidly, which was the only sign he felt anything close to fear. The light blinked it's steady red as Kye psyched himself up to enter the arena and destroy his opponent. Nothing was going to stop him now, not after he had set all he had up. The light slowly blinked until a loud buzzer sounded and the light shone a briliant green. Kye stood up and entered through the door into a small metal cage that led to the larger square arena. There was a similar cage to his directly opposite him and a larger one made to accomodate for larger bodied things to his left. All around the arena there were people cheering and yelling as the announcer shouted into his microphone that was hooked up to large speakers all around the arena.

"LAAAAAAAAAADIES AND GENTLEMEN! ARE YOU READY FOR TODAY'S FEATURE MATCH?!"

The crowd roared in response to his question.

"WELL THEN, LET ME INTRODUCE THE CONTENDERS OF TODAYS MATCH! THE CHALLENGER OF THE ARENA IS A YOUNG 14 YEAR OLD BOY WHO CAUGHT THE EYE OF TYSON HIMSELF. THAT'S RIGHT EVERYONE, DON'T LET HIS PHYSIQUE FOOL YOU, THAT YOUNG MAN IN THE CAGE RIGHT THERE IS JUST 14 YEARS OLD!"

The crowd roared once again as the announcer hyped up Kye. Kye just stared dead ahead and walked out into the spacious arena and stared at the other cage, waiting for his opponent.

"AND REPRESENTING THE HOME SIDE, STRAIGHT OUT OF THE SPERIAN PLAINS IS A MONSTER THAT CAN ONLY BE DESCRIBED AS TERRIFYING! WE BRING TO YOU LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, THE FIGHT BETWEEN KYE MARKEN AND THE C CLASS MONSTER DRAGONEWT!"

Kye turned his head to the large gate to his laft as it slowly creaked open and saw it. The dragonewt had a large lizard body but it's mouth was studded with sharp teeth and it's back covered with sharp spines. It's scales were a beautiful vermilion and it's sharp claws that extended from it's thick limbs were a charcoal black. It was dazed and confused, with it's eyes darting around the arena, with it's lizard eyes contracting and explanding it's slit-like iris' before finally turning it's gaze to Kye. It let out a shrill cry before rearing it's head back and spitting out a ball of fire that struck the wall behind Kye.

"Fucking dammit, this wasn't what I thought it was gonna be."

Kye readied himself as he grumbled his grievances about being forced into this situation. Without waiting for the dragonewt to continue, Kye rushed forward and weightened his fist as he ran, preparting to smash the lizard with as much force as he could muster. Using his jacket's enchantments, he lessened the effects of gravity on himself allowing his to run faster and quickly closed the distance between him and the dragonewt before bringing his fist back and smashing it across the face. The dragonewt recoiled hard as it was hit with immense force, with it staggering slightly before leveling it's head at Kye and spitting another fireball. Not having the ability to deflect the attack, Kye rolled to the side but misjudged the strength needed to dodge with his current level of gravity and sent himself flying further than he intended. Taking the lessened gravity off his body, Kye charged at the dragonewt again. It responded by lifting it's massive body up and standing on it's hind legs and bringing it's two thick forelimbs down in a slashing motion. Kye threaded between the two forelimbs and brought his fist into the dragonewt's stomach, causing it to fall on it's back. The crowd roared at the critical blow Kye dealt to the dragonewt as it writhed on the ground in pain. Kye didn't let the advantage go and quickly brough his fist down on it's face in a downward smash. However, just before Kye reached the dragonewt, it flicked it's tail around and caught Kye in the side, sending him flying into the wall of the arena. The blow would have been enough to put a hunter down but Kye had suffered worse, and though he was having a hard time catching his breath due to being winded, he stood back up as the dragonewt recovered. It stared Kye down and released a guteral hiss at him. Kye didn't back down at the obvious challenge it was presenting him.

"C'mon you fuckin' stupid overgrown lizard. Let's rock."

The dragonewt responded with another roar and charged forward at Kye, reading a fireball in it's mouth. Kye rolled quickly to the left and dodged the charge. The dragonewt swallowed it's fireball and the spines on it's back grew out and set themselves ablaze. Not having the time to verbally express his frustration with the dragonewt, Kye let out a low growl and charged towards the dragonewt again, bringing his fist around for the right hook into the dragonewt's side. It connected glancingly as the dragonewt spun it's body around and brought it's right forelimb down, slashing across Kye's back. Kye fell forward before recovering with a forward roll and stopping on his feet. If not for his jacket, the claws would have scratched him up badly. Swiftly dodging to the side, Kye avoided another swipe from the dragonewt and warpped both his arms around it's thick limb. Using his shoulder as a leverage point, Kye summoned all the strength in his body and amplified it through his [Enhanced Strength] skill, he threw the dragonewt over his shoulder, yelling loudly as he exerted himself. The dragonewt's eyes grew wide as it's body was lifted and thrown, it's back smashing into the ground, shattering many of its spines. It howled in pain and the crowd roared with excitement. Kye climbed onto the body of the wriggling dragonewt and stood on it's chest. He raised his right fist and smashed it down into the dragonewt's chest. Kye felt something give way underneath the force of his smash and the dragonewt wriggled with such force that Kye was flung off. Kye rolled and regained his footing, looking at the dragonewt.

It had managed to sit itself properly back on it's four legs but the myriad of spines that once littered it's back were now broken. The dragonewt began sucking in air as a large fireball gathered in it's gullet, it's neck expanding to accommodate the massive ball of fire building up in it's throat. Kye was sure he wouldn't be able to dodge so he brought his jacket up to cover his face as the dragonewt spewed the fire it had collected out in a constant breath, akin to a flamethrower. Kye screamed as the intense heat surrounded him, singeing his hair and skin. The oppressive attack ended and Kye stood up only to find that the dragonewt was already in front of him and brought it's claws down in a slash. Kye wasn't able to react fact enough and one of the claws caught his left cheek, leaving a deep gash that ran from his forehead to the bottom of his jaw. With the blood flowing into his eye, Kye was forced to close it as he attempted to dodge the dragonewt's second attack with it's other clawed limb. When the dragonewt tried for a third slash after it's second failed, Kye brought his arms up and caught the clawed limb with both his arms before bringing his gauntleted hand down with as much force as he could at the moment and smashed the claws on it's limb. Successfully shattering two of it's four claws, it recoiled and immedately began sucking air for another fire attack. Kye saw this as his moment and leapt towards it's open mouth and jumped into it's jaws. Kye, now half inside the dragonewt's mouth, punched up with his right fist and smashed it into the roof of the draongewt's mouth. It reacted by clamping it's jaws closed and Kye pushed up against the top of it's mouth in a desperate attempt to keep the jaws from closing and cutting him in half. Kye used his jacket to increase the force of gravity on his body, increasing his weight to the point where the dragonewt's jaw could no longer take the weight and some of it's bottom fangs snapped off as Kye rolled out of the mouth. Kye grabbed onto the side of the dragonewt's head and flung himself ontop of it. Kye stood on top of the dragonewt and decreased his weight by using his jacket then jumped off into the air, going several metres into the air and readying his right fist. As he floated in the air, experiencing near zero gravity, he muttered a few words before invoking his technique's name.

"Eat this you fucking lizard, Comet Punch"

Suddenly increasing his gravity on both his fist and jacket, Kye fell to the ground rapidly with his right fist outstretched and smashed into the dragonewt's head. The force of Kye and his punch hitting the dragonewt at that speed caused the dragonewt's head to explode in a squall of fine blood mist and bone fragments. Kye's advent on the ground caused a small crater in the arena floor where the now headless corpse of the dragonewt hung out of limply. Undoing the gravity enchantments on himself, Kye stood upright and looked at the stunned crowd. Breathing heavily as blood trickled out of his wounds, Kye raised his right fist in triumph and the crowd exploded into cheers.

"WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT EVERYONE, THE CHALLENGER KYE HAS KILLED THE DRAGONEWT SINGLEHANDEDLY, MAKING HIM THE VICTOR! GIVE THE YOUNG MAN A ROUND OF APPLAUSE!"

The announcer's voice and the juibilant cheers of the crowd were the last thing Kye heard as he fell forward from exhaustion in the crater next to the corpse of the dragonewt. despite the pain and fatigue that wracked his body, Kye managed to give a small smile of pride at his victory before he closed his eyes and the sweet embrace of sleep took him.
