《I'm a Frog?》A series of confusing gestures

"Does it look like I need guards?" The bulky man questioned.
And once these two large frogs locked eyes, quite a bit of understanding was exchanged between them.
The shop owner's poker-face managed to give out a few characteristics, and his tone helped clear things out as well.
A type of stubbornness spread across the air, and the bulky-man unleashed every bit of that aura.
These hints were egotistic to a certain extent; but the point was that this man didn't seem helpless whatsoever.
So necessarily, this fine lady who offered her services could only embrace the other's favour.
If not for the sake of respect, she could understand the certain pride that any business owner had; so she chose to step off.
And she even managed to compliment, "It looks like you're that kinda frog who would protect the guards, you don't need my help."
"Glad we reached an understanding," The latter recited with less than half a smile.
As for Steve, he watched the whole short scene unfold. Through the process he attained a little idea, which should aid to increase the survival-rate.
At first he waved those thin arms of his a few times, at least until the taller lady noticed his presence here.
Such gestures were embarrassing since they proved child-like, but they had to be done.
Once he got a bit of the other's attention, he queried. "You guard people too, right? Not just shops?"
"Yes!" The finely-honed women slightly yelled.
Yet she wasn't angry in any recognizable way, on the contrary she was quite happy.
The air stunk with opportunity, and her aura was absolutely pure; she really wanted to win today.
Steve pulled his head back a little bit, because the other's energy projected as a bit overwhelming. It also seemed odd how such a big capable frog was so innocently excited.
However, the young man eventually had to question. "Okay so how much do I have to pay you? I need someone to guard me for a while."

"Pay me a thousand gold-coins, and no one will lay a finger on you for an entire month!" The fine lady pitched.
Her confidence still stood dominant, which was refreshing enough.
This woman got rejected by the merchant just a moment ago, so such a result should have tinkered with her confidence a bit; but yet there she was, yelling.
As for Steve, he had to contemplate this deal for a little bit. The whole pay almost felt like a scam, and he tried to figure out if this so-called guard handled such a deal fairly.
Eventually he had to ask, "A thousand ha... what if I pay you and someone lays a finger on me anyway?"
"I'll cut one of my own fingers if that happens," The latter assured. And she suddenly carried a firm expression too.
Steve was quite clueless regarding the concept of this entire deal, so he locked eyes with the merchant for a quick second.
He wanted to ask questions regarding the nobility of this offer, but couldn't quite do so out loud for various reasons.
Thankfully the strong man across the room, simply gave a slow but assuring nod. Such a gesture was quite small, but it still managed to give the frogezoid enough confidence.
"A thousand gold it is then," The youngling finally agreed.
And afterwards he slipped a palm in the inner portion of his black-vest, and tried to pull a coin out.
Steve silently hoped to fetch one that was carved from diamonds. The last thing he needed right now was to get in trouble thanks to obsidian.
Luck was by his side for once, as this fine man managed to pull out what he seeked.
After that point, the coin could only be handed over to the other with a soft-smile.
"Here you go," The little man recited, with quite a light tone.
But the body-guard had been staggered a little bit. She didn't expect for this deal to be struck that quickly, and there was another detail that hit her like a club as well.

She pushed her hair aside to get a better glimpse of the coin, and her facial expressions truly said a lot!
With a slight shout she queried, "You actually want to pay me right now?"
Steve became clueless regarding what this lady meant. So he peeked at the merchant again, and hoped to attain his aid once more.
It was noticeable that the bulky shop-owner seemed a bit disappointed. His hairy head slowly moved from left to right a few times, which signified disagreement.
And after that gesture, the younger understood what the topic was about. He eventually guessed, that it was a bad idea to pay a guard this early.
"Ah I see what you mean," He finally mumbled.
And now he had to fix what could develop to quite a few tangled relationships.
He didn't want to look like a fool in front of this helpful merchant, but neither did he want to anger the body-guard.
Through a light smile he decided to remind, "You were ready to work for a month, so I trust your ethics."
"This is unusual, but since you insist..." The latter cooperated and grabbed the diamond coin.
She tried to wrap her head around what the young man said, and eventually she fully understood the concept.
Steve noticed this hint so he weighed in, "I trust you already, that coin is in safe hands."
A slight blush spread across the other's face, but she managed to hide it well. The idea that someone trusted her to this extent felt like a luxury.
"Thank you for your kindness," The seven-foot woman followed along with a joyful sigh.
But yet again a bit of hair landed right over her cheeks, and it proved quite irritating for the lady already.
Steve noticed such slight discomfort and wanted to seek a solution for the other.
The lady's hair reached all the way down her spine, but they still could be tamed a little bit.
So the young frog glanced at the merchant once more, and hoped that he would understand such a speechless request.
Unsurprisingly, the bulky-man raised one of his thick arms, and pointed towards the left side of the shop.
With half a smile he specified, "Hair cloths are over there, a few pins fiddle around too."
An extensive smile grew on the younger's face. He was absolutely happy with just how observant and swift the merchant was.
The frogezoid appreciated such characteristics for sure. But at the same time he headed for the pointed out spot, and swiftly browsed through the contents before he grabbed something favourable.
He clumsily tied a thin and long cloth around his hand. Its red colour truly assured that it was made to hold hair together, as it never failed to beautify the wearer.
Steve casually paced towards his new guard, and had to stretch upwards a little bit just to reach for the other's hair.
The lady was a good foot taller than him, so obviously such size differences could be tricky.
After a bit of effort, the young man managed to rake the other's hair a few times, until he could tie such a mane into a pony-tail.
It was quite a workout, but the other was surely appreciative. The two frogs locked eyes a few times, and surely one of them felt more embarrassed than the other.
The body-guard had developed quite a blush by now. Not only because of the gesture that this young man showed, but the thought behind such an act as well.
Obviously this short frogezoid couldn't have any ulterior motive, as they've met for the first time just now.
So necessarily Steve was kind enough to buy her a hair-cloth, just because he noticed that the lady was irritated by her own hair.
Such a gesture has pushed her through a few emotions, but she was mostly happy.
And could finally speak out, "Thank you, again!"

The Rocky Shore
This is a LitRPG series. Every story you read here takes place in the same virtual world, with the same rules and limitations. Characters will travel, explore vast and dangerous realms, overcome obstacles, meet one another, enter into conflicts with one another, forge alliances, make horrible mistakes, and occasionally just die. A technological singularity has been achieved, and humanity has been trapped in a virtual world by a super-intelligent, self-improving artificial intelligence. This program is not malicious at all. In fact, it desires nothing except the happiness and fulfillment of every human it has copied into itself. If its decisions seem strange to you, that's only because its reasoning is far beyond ours. It recognizes that humans cannot be happy without enemies to overcome and goals to achieve, as well as the possibility of failure and death. The world it has created may be heaven or hell, depending on the free choices of the people it contains. The non-player characters who live in this realm have no idea that they are part of a vast computer system. They seem real enough, but there is no way to tell if they are truly self-aware. Even the system that created them isn't certain. This is world in which all the things that humans are used to dealing with in the abstract: skills, talents, knowledge, reputation, social status, morality, even love, exist as readable statistics that players can see and interact with objectively. This has many curious and complex effects on how people perceive themselves and the world around them. A few quick notes on the system: -Death is permanent -The system interface can only be accessed at certain locations. -Magic of diverse kinds is available and useful, but is not a good substitute for skills, physicallity, or mental prowess. Non-magical characters are common and competitive. -There is no inventory system. Characters must physically carry everything they wish to have on their person. -Healing is slow and difficult. Magical Healing is all but unheard of. Protagonists: Raymond Garrison- A man in his late twenties who used to work as a forklift operator in Idaho. His path leads him to work as a mercenary, protecting a small community of humans and goblins from the Seelie Fae who wish to exterminate them. Patricia Chandler- A elderly British woman who arrives in this new world with her grandson Kyle and her granddaughter Elizabeth. Never having dealt with rpg game mechanics before, she is in for a rough time, but she is determined to keep her grandkids alive in a world full of danger and evil.
