《I'm a Frog?》Good guys are thieves

After he slipped into these clothes, it felt like the best time to ask a few questions.

So he did exactly that, "Why are you so scared of those souls? You slapped one of them out of your house!"

Through those same seconds, the lady boiled in rage! And her anger solely took root towards the clothes she was handling.

The crimson red dress that she wanted to slip in, was a bit complicated since it had underwear strapped in it.

So ultimately she became entangled in this fine cloth, and suffered through a few anger spikes. So of course, such emotion had to break out in one direction or the other.

Which was why she lightly shouted, "You're just stupid! Do you have any idea how dangerous one of these angry souls can be?"

"I'm clueless," He answered honestly, while he attempted to push ego away.

After a strong sigh that was solely fueled by discomfort, the kidnapper decided to evade any specifics.

Which was why she blandly pressured, "Best if you don't know for now. Just get dressed so we can get out of this city."

"I'm already dressed," Steve informed.

And as the lady glanced up she instantly got staggered. He looked far better now in comparison to just a few hours ago!

Clothes truly made the man, but the recent muscle-mass managed to add a bit of complexion as well.

Her cheeks tightened thanks to a blush, therefore she mumbled. "Great, now wait until I get dressed."

While she struggled to work through the dress, Steve spotted three large bookshelves on one corner of the room, and began walking towards them.

The kidnapper didn't notice these movements, but neither did she care to be observant.

After the young man walked towards the shelves, he pulled out one of the books just out of curiosity. This world was entirely different, so there surely were unique writings to explore.

He flicked the book's cover, and gave a peek at the title that was written on the very first page.

Its contents seemed intensively gibberish for a short moment; but within a few seconds, he suddenly began recognizing the letters, and even managed to understand whole sentences!

"This language is weird but at least I can read it. The past body owner's memories are probably coming back." He lightly celebrated.

But then the frogezoid became even more excited, once he noticed what this book was about. The fancy title spelled out, 'Flaming Crown, and its place in legends'.

The book itself carried about thirty pages at most, which proved a point that not much was known about the crown.

But this was still convenient, as the book could help him briefly start out the main quest. Any aid would be useful at this point.

So with a bit of effort he stored the half-a-foot long book, in the inner portions of his black vest.

He seemed like a true gentleman right now, at least in terms of clothing. But there was no shame in putting these pockets into use.

However. As his eyes dotted back on the lady, Steve noticed that she was almost done dressing.

In a short moment he managed to get closer. Afterwards, his little plan found it convenient to lightly hold on to a wooden-chair.

As he laid a brief look at the kidnapper, he avoided to peek at any of her attractive corners, just so he wouldn't get distracted by his own lust.

The finely-dressed man felt confident that his plan could not be ruined. So he found it appropriate to put in a few seconds towards expressing gratitude.

So with a soft tone he exclaimed. "Thank you for dressing me up like a gentleman, I look better than I ever did in my life."

Spotting that she didn't want to reply, the young man felt encouraged to continue chattering.

"But it's time to say goodbye. Even if I knew where the crown was, I would never take you to it, idiot!" He shouted with a hint of joy in his tone.

A split second later, he tightened his grip around the chair's back-rest and twirled just once, right before he tossed the chair against this lady.

Through this commotion the opponent had shouted. "You little bastard!"

But it was truly too late for her to do anything about this. The kidnapper's arms were tangled around some coat, so she had no options in terms of launching a counter-attack.

The chair ended up bashing her against the right shoulder, and managed to flatten her down against the ground.

Such an attack would surely fail to kill a tough woman of her liking, but it did manage to knock her out cold.

Steve gave a little peek towards the other's unconscious body, and figured out that there wasn't a blood-pool piled up around her. So she was likely fine.

He instantly heaved out a sigh that featured relief. Sure he wanted to escape this mad-woman's grasp, but he wasn't a murderer either; such an act would be too dramatic for his taste.

However, now was the best time to make a run for it. But it was apparent that this lady had more than enough wealth, even governors of this area would struggle to compare!

So first things first, he headed towards that diamond encrusted vase, yanked it off the tiny table it was laid over, and headed for the door.

Surely this decorative item would be enough to tame some debt, if not all of it.

But as he maneuvered around the furniture to make his way out, Steve's eyes focused towards a small little chest.

It was filled to the top with jewels, rings and whatnot ~ enough to make one think that this lady ran a jewelry shop!

Although he felt guilty to steal anything else of value; that emotion was flung away, after he remembered that this lady wanted him dead!

So as he reached for the wooden-chest, he mumbled. "This is for trying to feed me to a demon, you crazy bookworm..."

The chest itself was barely a foot long, but the wealth between it was surely worth carrying around.

He had to man handle this thing in order for it to close, and even had to remove a few gold-coins for that same reason.

But eventually he sealed it up, and managed to fit it in the two-foot long vase.

The fact that he didn't have to carry these treasures around separately, proved more than convenient ~ but now he truly had to make a run for it.

Steve pushed his luck a bit too far by now. It would be disastrous if the enemy caught up to him, simply because his crave for wealth lacked control.

So within a moment, he found the door that should lead to the street. And afterwards he twirled the key around the door's key-hole a few times, before he managed to open it.

Without the slightest hesitation, Steve headed out for the stone-streets. He also slammed the door shut, because he didn't want the kidnapper to get robbed.

And then he swiftly jogged away from the house. He wanted to run, but that might not be the best idea ~ as he could easily fall down and break the expensive vase.

After he ran away for a few meters, he took a sharp right-turn to follow along a tight, empty alleyway. The goal was to avoid detection of any sort.

And that was when the system, came along with a bit of information of her own.

[You have successfully escaped from the kidnapper's house,]

[And as promised, you receive one-hundred-and-fifty system points as a reward]
