《I'm a Frog?》Helping hand

After hearing out such a grand recommendation, he only became a lot more stressed. Enthusiasm was something that Steve tried to grab a hold of, but at this point it could not be achieved without embracing craze.
And after an unhealthy amount of work put in just to stay calm, he asked. "Okay, but can you help me figure out where to find a potion?"
[Alchemists aren't so favoured upon throughout this city, so you will need to seek someone who sells potions illegally]
At this point, the good man felt a bit agitated; so it wasn't a surprise how a stream of negative thoughts began leaking out of his conscience.
Which was why he reached the point of craving a debate, "How on earth could health be illegal?"
[These lands are barbaric, as I said]
[Potions can be beneficial, but they are seen as weird dark magic]
[There are at least seven religions in this city alone, that go against the arcane arts. So you can take a guess on how rare any particular portions are]
After that point, his enthusiasm was drifting away the more he heard the system speak out, and it wasn't an exaggerated response either.
Steve continued to tantrum a little bit, by simply questioning. "Finding a potion sounds hard enough alone, but how am I supposed to find one when they're illegal?"
With those thoughts lightly pondered, he could also put together another conclusion. "They will probably cost a fortune too,"
After making those couple of statements, he heaved out a heavy sigh that solely resembled stress. But this sigh had also urged a bit of mental clarity; it helped him get a few thoughts together.
Which inevitably led to building up just a bit of motivation, especially after thinking. "But man, I really don't wanna die again."

With that in mind, the decent frogezoid put in another attempt to walk. It was a bit more successful, so to say.
But he could manage to stand up straight, only by holding on against the alleyway's wall that was nearby.
He managed to gain a bit more balance by every step taken, but he would likely need to walk close to any wall for a good while.
The system appreciated all of this effort. So that was why she decided to bring along information that was indirectly related to these attempts.
[Once you find a health potion and drink it, you will get a reward of fifty-system-points]
[That's barely enough to buy a bodily upgrade, but it should motivate you to seek a remedy. That is, if pain itself isn't convincing enough]
Once he heard such information, most of that motivation that he had lost before, returned within a blink of an eye. A small smile slightly stretched on his long, patty lips as well, and it inspired an idea.
Steve touched the over-saturated shirt that was put over his dark green skin, and decided to slowly remove it.
The amount of blood that had soaked the back portion was horrendous, but it did not stop his willpower.
The good man noticed that a piece of stonework-flooring in this alleyway was chipped and shattered, so that was one of the reasons why he tried to slowly sit down.
Afterwards the self-motivated frogezoid, grabbed a chipped piece of stone and began running it across his cheap and dirty shirt.
And with a bit of man-handling, he cut the shirt to the point where it appeared quite longer in size.
Such a result wasn't anything fancy, but it aided to easily tie the shirt across his wound. And a simple knot above the shoulder was enough to hold everything together.

The system decided to comment on such a decision right after, [Smart, now your chances of death are smaller]
[This cloth is good enough to stop any more blood from dripping, and you have bought yourself more time]
[But don't consider this as a permanent solution, you need a health potion to seal the whole problem]
"I hope to find one soon, this cut just hurts way too much..." He mumbled and then slowly stood up due to that same intent.
But suddenly, he heard a soft and delicate female tone that came from a few meters away. "Oh you poor thing, you look horrible!"
Steve raised his head to glance forwards, and instantly noticed a strong figure of a feminine looking frog. It managed to arouse a few mandatory emotions, along with waves of self-confliction.
This lady had enough intimate curves to raise the sense of breeding for anyone. She even had a fair amount of green hair, which didn't fail to add more beauty to her form; but would he really want to mate with a frog? Those thoughts were conflicting.
But once more, he wasn't given enough time to thoroughly think about any of that. Because that same frog lady had gotten close enough, to put an arm around his shoulders.
She made him sit back down for the sake of resting, and began pulling out an item from her pale-brown purse.
Without a sense of discretion, the fine woman stated. "This is a strong healing potion, it will patch your wounds up right away!"
Considering the aura that this newcomer effortlessly radiated, he gained enough reasons to trust her.
And even if he didn't trust her, the urge to get away from all of this fresh pain would make Steve drink anything ~ so could a desperate man really be picky right now?
That was why he swiftly yanked the bottle off her hands, and instantly chucked down its contents. It was a small bottle so he didn't need much time to drink the whole thing.
It was refreshing to say at least, because the potion had a hint of grape vine into it; but there was also an external detail that he slowly began to notice.
The system did not make a sound about the liquid he had just drank. He should be rewarded for drinking a healing potion, but nothing was spoken out regarding such a topic.
Within a few seconds, he began understanding why the system had been quiet. Simply speaking, this potion wasn't doing what the lady claimed that it should do!
The effects that this liquid brought instead, had managed to freeze Steve's legs! It only took a few seconds for his arms to be rendered out of use as well.
But before a word could be said about these results, he was forced to embrace the uncomfortable effects of unconsciousness.
In other words, he blacked out!

Author's Rant
Just a disclaimer, this is not and never will be a story. I just, noticed I have a bad habit of wanting to rant in my author's notes, and have decided that, instead of accidentally doubling the length of each chapter with the author's note alone, I will shove those long-ass rants here. It might contain spoilers for my stories, as I usually wind up ranting about different parts I'm writing. So, if you actually enjoy my rants...well, firstly, what is wrong with you? Secondly, welcome! Time to figure out what tags to stick on this. Also, as of the second chapter, I have decided to shove some of my story ideas here. So if you enjoy half-baked, unfinished stories, then I got those too. I think that adds that short story tag?
