V: So… you’ve become a human encyclopedia?
S: Not really… I don’t have a good enough memory for that.
V: Anyvvay.
V: VVhat do you vvant to knovv?
S: Seriously? That’s your reaction?
S: I have virtually access to any knowledge, on anything, just by looking at it!
V: Meh.
V: I can split a continent in half.
V: I’m not easily impressed.
S: I wasn’t boasting…
V: I.
V: Don’t.
V: Give.
V: Any.
V: Fuck.
S: I love you too.
V: S: So, I had several questions.
V: That vvill cost you a lot.
S: I know.
S: First, I lost my future sight some times ago. Is that normal?
V: Haha, you’re a cripple Seer novv!
S: I’ll take that as a yes.
V: No, it’s not normal.
S: What?
V: Never heard of any Quester losing their signature povver.
V: VVell, unless you’re in a safe zone, but that’s another topic.
S: Will I get it back?
V: I don’t knovv.
V: Seer doesn't vvork the same vvay than the other classes. And none of us here knovv enough about them.
V: Hovvever, I do knovv one high level Seer.
S: Oh? Who is it?
V: Your mother.
S: …
S: That would have been funny, if she wasn’t dead.
V: Haha, ups (^.^)
S: So, who is this Seer?
V: You don’t have to knovv.
V: He is off my radar anyvvay.
S: Okay…
S: Second question then!
S: We already talked about the woman I saw in my dream.
S: You said her name was Eve, but, who is she?

V: I don’t know.
V: But she does seem to have an interest in you.
V: Why?
S: Because she’s apparently the one that convinced Kunan to supervise my sister’s training.
V: She’s interested in your sister?
V: I thought she vvas more into you…
S: She is too, she kissed me the first time we met.
V: Oh my! (=.=)
V: Maybe she wants a threesome!
S: Fuck you!
V: Foursome?
S: It’s my sister!!!
V: Haha.
V: I’m not that sure about that. (^v^)
S: Fine! I’m leaving this conversation!
S: Oh no! Wait, one last thing.
S: Do you know anything about the Kunan?
V: Yeah, I savv you’ve met mama Kunan.
V: She’s a piece of art.
V: She tries to kill every person that matters to her.
V: She’s my model. (^.^)
S: I’m not surprised…
S: But what are they? Are they old Questers?
V: Haha, no.
V: VVell, probably not.
V: In fact, I have no idea, I never asked her, and never savv her sons.
V: And I don’t really care.
S: Is there something you care about?
V: You? (^.^)
S: Oh, yeah. I almost forgot about that…
V: Come on. I’m sure I vvon’t be the one killing you. Or even if I am, death is not that bad you knovv.
S: …
S: Sure…
S: I probably should get going.
S: Thanks for being useless as usual.
V: My pleasure. (^.^)
As always, Val didn't teach me anything valuable. I wonder who is this other Seer she mentioned, surely it's not Tiffany, and it's not another guide, meaning that it's another wandering Quester. If that's the case, there no use searching for him.
Damn, I don't like that. My foresight saved me too many times for me to give up on it, but what can I do? Maybe I'm not humble enough?
Well, at least I have this cool inspection thing.
I looked at my hand.

Holy! What is that? A power chart? Looks like it. There are my name and title…
Wow, that’s pretty cool!
I wonder if I'm powerful though. Those numbers don't tell me anything if I can't compare them to someone else.
Looking down, I saw the Techniques box, and was surprised by the content.
‘Foresight’? I still have my Foresight? I wonder if it’s reassuring or not…
CRACK
Hum?
What was that noise?
It’s them! It’s coming from their hill! Where… Shit, I don’t see Alice!
I rushed to see what happened.
I arrived a few seconds later, she was on the ground, unconscious, and Kunan was silently watching her. I quickly went to my sister to see if she was alright.
Good, she’s still breathing, and I don’t see any wounds. She’s probably just passed out of exhaustion.
Damn, those Kunan trainings are way too dangerous, I should have probably not let her do it, but it’s not like I’m in a good position to talk.
By the way… where is she? Where is Kunan? I looked around, but there was no one to be seen other than us. Did she leave? Why? I remarked something else, there was a crack in the ground, a huge crack splitting the entire hill in half.
They really went out of proportion.
I guess if Kunan is not there anymore, that means the training is over. That's a relief, even though I would have liked to ask some question to her. Not like she would have answered them anyway…
So… that’s how this struggles end, hue?
Another meeting.
At what served as the guides HQ, Sam organized another meeting. Nothing new, he liked doing a lot of them, for communication purposes. Of course, Valentine couldn’t care less about those, but this time she was there.
That’s right, this time something was different, because this time she had something to say.
A few month ago, she met with Eve, probably the most powerful entity she ever saw, who asked her to kill her pupil. Of course, it was more complicated than that, but that’s basically what she was asked to do.
Without any care for ‘communication' and ‘team spirit', she had no plan to tell anyone about it. But the recent mention of Eve by Sam reminded her of something she should have realized a long time ago: she has no idea who she is, and what she wants. Killing Sam might be aligned with Valentine's own motive, that was quite suspicious that a being powerful enough to break a taboo was interested in a common noob.
That's what she wanted to share with the other: what is Eve? In fact, she would have organized the meeting herself, but to her surprise, Jules had also something important for them.
“Their session is about to fail.”
“Wow, don’t be so dramatic Jules.”
“Well, I kind of agree with him.”
To Valentine’s shock, Clarence backed up Jules.
“What are you talking about?”
“It’s Xavier, my pupil. He’s going solo.”
“Naomi has some heavy problems too…”
“I’m afraid he lost his mind. He met a strange guy in his last struggle, and… I don’t really know what happened but he doesn’t talk with me anymore.”
“Wait, wasn’t my pupils meeting with him?”
For the first time in a while, Valentine heard François' voice. This tiny guy rarely talks in front of her.
“Well, that’s why I think it is important enough for us to meet. Kyle… has gone missing. Since two days ago.”
Silence fell upon the room. As veteran guides, they all knew what the death of one Quester meant: the failure of the session. Unless it happens in the final stages of the adventure, but this was far from being the case here.
Needless to say, Valentine was massively annoyed by this turn of event.
‘Fuck, and here I thought I would be the one giving shocking information!’

Fighting monsters, dungeon delving, solving puzzles – whatever it takes, Jake is finding his way home. He’ll need allies. Powerful allies, like a trainee ranger who struggles to find her hairbrush.
