《Harbinger Of Chaos》The Professor And The Protagonist

Eterna city is actually quite big compared to what's shown in anime. And games... Are just being games, I guess. I don't know about the anime but in games entire population of Eterna city was nearly fifty.
There's also a Team Galactus hideout in this city, apparently, it's being monitored by Pokémon Association and Lucian was dispatched here to decipher one of team Galactus' commander, Charon's personal handbook.
Charon was the one who made those chains to restraint the movement of legendary dragons, and it actually worked to an extent. But they freed themselves and massacred every single one of team Galactus' member.
Slightly different from my memories of this event. There was no portal to torn world. According to hospital staff, Cyrus is believed to be dead but there was no trace of his body. Well, he's supposes to be in Distortion world right now.
But unlike games or anime, Giratina didn't make her badass appearance and cyrus was just swallowed by the ground where he was standing.
Maybe this world's devil is just shy?
And Lucian is apparently very generous, he actually left a credit card at the reception for me once I decided to go out. Sly bastard.
I don't trust him one bit, he knows that there's something else in the disguise of Riolu. Isn't he too generous to the guy who was supposed to deceive him? Stupid rich people.
Well, I can't purchase any pokemon related stuff without a league provided id. But I seriously need a quick change of clothes and a dimensional storage bag.
Yes, that's the thing, I wondered how were we supposed to carry shit ton of stuff for adventure? So, Dimensional storage bag is a thing here, there's a limit of course, but yeah, it's pretty handy for trainers and researchers alike.
I am walking on sidewalks by the roads, it feels pretty normal, like taking a stroll in a normal city on earth if you exclude the small supernatural creatures capable of tearing me apart, it's pretty normal.
Let's see, according to map provided, general marketplace is to the left from here.
I stored Tina back to pokeball because I have a certain tingling anxiety. Something is keeping an eye on me. Her illusion will be useless if she's attacked. She's not in a shape to fight back for now. And this pokemon is excellent in stealth, even Tina had a hard time detecting the shadows but it was there. She protested, but we didn't have a choice.
It hasn't revealed itself even when I was alone in the washroom, so, I can guess it's purpose isn't to hurt me. Or second assumption will be that it's too scared to come out because it has detected the presence of a legendary dragon. Or third will be that someone has personally asked it to keep an eye on me without getting detected.

I am not sure about the either one.
I hate variables.
I FUCKING HATE VARIABLES!
Sigh... I can't do anything about it.
Oh, I am arrived.
It's huge!
The shopping district of Eterna city.
Well let's see, I am in a mall like structure right now. Or it is a mall? This place is giving me mixed vibes of a pokemart and a normal mall equipped with advanced tech. The whole building looks it's made up of glass like substance.
There's a teleportation plate in the middle of the lowest floor. It works like a elevator, you select where you want to go, it teleports you there. Easy-peasy.
I changed to a pair of white shirt and black jacket and a dark denim jeans, it's not my own money, so, I chose the most expansive ones.
I bought some substitute pairs too, because, why not? Gwehehehe
I bought a dimensional storage bag, again the most expansive one, and stuffed everything I bought in it.
There's a pokeball store in the eastern section of the eighth floor with some nice fancy looking balls. Unfortunately, I couldn't buy it. And holy crap the price rate of these dumb balls are outrageous. Well, that kinda makes sense, those are literally the capsules made to store superpowered animals.
There's also a breeder's shop right next to a restaurant. There are multiple one of these, looks like a breeder can get one here after being officially licensed by Pokémon Association.
The one I have entered has a pair of baby shinx is sleeping peacefully on a pillow by the glass entrance. There's tanned man, who's feeding a baby Eevee in his hands.
Cute.
''Oh hello there! How may I help ya?"
"Mind if I have a look?"
"Sure, ask me if ya need any help"
I looked around the shop, every one here is literally a level 1 baby pokemon. There's a pair of shitty. Speaking of skitty, I remember a cursed meme of ''good things comes in small packages'' featuring a skitty and wailord. Both were compatible in crossbreeding with each other. Yikes!
There are several baby pokemon but the one that caught my eyes is this beldum. Well, not because there's anything special about this one, it's just because IT'S A FUCKING BELDUM! AND IT'S SO FUCKING COOL. I love Metagross, one of my favourite pokemon. So, it's unreasonable that I am not captivated by a future metal bahemoth here.
Well, I can't purchase it for now, because no trainer license. Sigh...
I left the shop and moved towards the destined cafe where I am supposed to meet with Prof. Rowan.

I left the mall, took a taxi and moved towards the cafe.
It's near the Museum, according to the map.
I arrived a little early, it's 1:33PM right now.
I can get a clear view of museum entrance from here. I ordered a latte while I was waiting, he's supposed to arrive at 2:00PM. Tina disguising Riolu is sleeping peacefully in my lap. I took her out after exiting the mall to confirm whether it's still following us.
Apparently not.
I don't know why because it chased us for wholeass morning. Well it's a good thing that it's not anymore, I guess. I am not used to such helplessness but I don't wanna do anything before I know about this mysterious stalker and it's real purpose.
And if my memory serves me correct, there was supposed to be the Adamant Orb in this museum, according to anime.
But if the whole summoning bullshit has already happened, I assume it's not here anymore. Unless our big baddy Cyrus has any other method to summon Dialga.
As I was wondering, an middle aged man entered the cafe. A man with brown coat, brown shoes and a brown tie, White hair and white moustache, Black pants, a blue suit carrying a brownish orange suitcase.
Classic Professor Rowan eh? Who the hell can say that this man is in his 60's?
"Oh, hello there professor!''
''Victor? I presume.''
''At your service.''
Rowan chucked and sat in front of me.
''I heard that you were here with your two assistants, can't see them anywhere.''
''Ah those pesky little twerps,'' Rowan frowned ''young kids these days have no respect for the older ones. They vanished after we came here, I informed them to meet up with me by the museum but they haven't even responded yet. I hope they are not causing any trouble.''
He's just like a grandpa worrying about his grandchildren.
''Must be annoying having them around.''
''Well, both are battle junkies, it hasn't been long since they received their starters. The Pokemon league's next session is starting next month, I can't blame them to be enthusiastic about it but they atleast need to do their work till then.''
''I assume both will be sponsored by you.''
''Ah, yes, they will be a part of the future research team, if they are going to travel the whole region, the information will be more than valuable.''
''Well, that's true I guess.'' I said while stroking the blue fluffball in my lap ''And what's the proposal Lucian was talking about?"
''I want to sponsor you as the third candidate for Pokemon League.''
Eh?
Wait wait wait! Hold up! Isn't this all going way too fast?
Well this is the result I wanted but I haven't even told him anything about me yet.
"Can I ask you the reason why you want to sponsor a random stranger, who you don't even know yet?''
''The reason is right there.'' Rowan said pointing the blue fluffball in my lap.
''Riolu?''
''Indeed, it's once in a lifetime opportunity if you'd ask me.''
He's literally giving me my whole dream in a golden plate just in exchange for a little information. Researchers are scary.
''As you know that my research is mainly based upon evolution.''
''Ah, yes, something like ''it makes them complete.''
''That's some way to explain it.'' Rowan chuckled ''but yes, to simplify, it's just that evolution makes a pokemon complete.'' He paused for a moment, ''But your Riolu is fused with a foreign energy compatible with it and it has provided it nullification to psychic attacks, which is a big step towards learning the nature and utilisation of Ancient energy. There's a high chance that it will deviate from it's original evolution, and I want to witness the alternate evolution caused by ancient energy.''
Well, I guessed this much.
Just then, the door opened, entered a young handsome man, perhaps in his twenties, with a Chimchar on one of his shoulders, opened his mouth.
''Am sorry for being late, old man. Was caught up in something.''
''How many times did I tell you to call me Professor, Lucas!''
....
....
Well, I shouldn't be surprised now that it isn't a game anymore. The dude now sitting in front of now is the protagonist of the game.
Sounds like most major event of the game has happened without the interfere of the protagonist. Perfectly normal, isn't it?
LIKE HELL IT IS!
This whole timeline is fucked up.

Life of a Core
After a disembodied voice had told him he was what amounted to an exceptionally talented rock, it had been hard to not let it go to his non-existent head. Until, random chance had decided to give him a square kick in the minerals. Which had in turn forced him to fend for himself in an unknown land, all while he attempted to make sense of his place in the world. Truthfully though, all he had really wanted to do from the start had been to bury himself a hundred feet below the ground and be left to his own devices. Yet, for one reason or another, nobody ever seemed willing to leave the dungeon-building core alone long enough to actually make one. Each chapter will average around two to three thousand words, the release schedule is still a WIP but you should expect the first six chapters to be released over the next six days. This is planned out as a dungeon building fiction, but don't expect it right off the bat! The story is a depiction of the everyday adventures (alongside an overarching plot) of what I imagine a dungeon core would experience when thrust into a random environment where everything and everyone tried to covet or eat him. I also really enjoy reading the comments and reviews people leave and would love to get some reader involvement with the story itself, likely through polls at the end of each chapter. I hope you enjoy my story! (If you feel like some of the characters seem familiar, you may have read some older work I wrote a while back under a different account. If you happen to be one of my old readers and recognize the similarities, I'm happy to have you back!)

In Pursuit of Bark's Finest
On the frontiers of transhumanity’s expansion into the galaxy thousands of light years from the light of Sol, things can get rather chaotic. There are countless millions of nascent interstellar nations securing their interests, pirate ships prospering off plunder and deniable mercenary work, dissidents setting up their own civilizations, and other groups all trying to push an agenda. When these groups crash into each other, the results can become extremely messy and convoluted. Recently, a frontier nation calling itself the Red Star Union has found itself at the focal point of one such complication. A freighter under their protection has been sabotaged, hijacked in interstellar space, and robbed of its cargo. This would be bad enough even if all it were carrying was luxury goods, but the freighter Nebula Plow was carrying more than just normal trade goods. Indeed, her cargo of Non-Orientable Wormholes for use in starship power plants was both very expensive and very, very dangerous. Now the Red Star Union has to worry about a pirate crew running around with several extra devices capable of converting matter into antimatter with negligible energy cost. With those, the pirates could be capable of inflicting untold damage if allowed to leverage their ill-gotten gains into a stronger position, a possibility the Union finds completely intolerable. Unfortunately, all that the Red Star Union has to go on for evidence is two names; that of the captain, and that of the ship. The Captain is going by the possible pseudonym of Fuller, while the ship is named Bark’s Finest. And thus the orders came down to the Union’s Bureau of Starforce Intelligence: find more information on these pirates, conclusively identify them, and figure out where exactly they’ve gone to ground so that the fleet can crush them before they get established. Of the many agents that the bureau assigned to this mission, one would happen to play an important role: Field Agent Madeline Zargosty. This is her story. This story is entirely pre-written, and will have one chapter released per week. If you want to read it all ahead of schedule and get access to some premium-exclusive bonus content, the entire book is available for purchase; links to the appropriate storefront pages will be posted at the end of each chapter. This story is also being posted to Scribblehub.
