“Would you look at that. They have our eyes. Welcome little ones. I was born only a few days ago myself.” says Cole. The newborns laugh hysterically in response.
“Finally someone who gets my jokes!”
Again they giggle making them that much more adorable. With a never ending smile they reach out with their hands beckoning Cole to touch them. He reaches out holding one hand from each. For a moment Cole’s mind is filled with a rush of images. He lets go, taking a few steps back.
Cake catches him questioning, “What happened?”
“They, they told me things. With their mind. So many things. It’s strange they don’t use words, they use images and feelings.”
“What did they tell you?”
“It’s hard to put into words. They said, The Enlightened Ones are friends. That they are just the inception of something yet to come, the True Blood society. Next they explained they have the knowledge on how to resurrect more Ultrasapiens. It has something to do with the osmosis crystals… And, they told me Shado is still alive! He’s stuck, he needs our help, and The Enlightened Ones will know how! Then, they told me their names. It was the most beautiful thing I've ever experienced. Their names are images. No, it's more like a frequency, a marked form of an ebb and flow of energy. It’s the closest thing they consider a name, but I don’t think it's possible to convey by using such a limited form of communication like a voice.”

The next day Cole exits the base heading to Arch who is aimlessly looking out at the valley. Amazingly the forest is regrowing at an incredible pace. Seedlings of many trees have grown overnight to a staggering three feet tall. Cole passes the boundary of the bubble, which has been steadily increasing in size since the twins were born. Arch speaks without turning to see who is approaching, “I believe the blood from battle is helping the forest regrow. This land has been soaked with Growler’s Ultra energy.”

“I hope the forest produces food soon so I can repay Growler.”
“From the looks of it I think this land will be quite fertile and nutritious.”
“I still don’t understand how you got us through that battle.”
“There’s always a bigger fish.”
Ghiya walks up joining the conversation, also staring aimlessly outward, “We won’t see the protections of the mountain again for a while. Do you realize how long it took for him to attain a size like that?”
“Lucky for us it's easier to put on the pounds than to try and lose them.” says Cole Jokingly.
Silence.
Where are my kids when I need them…
“What about Byson? What are we going to do to save him? What if we use Justice’s power?” questions Cole.
“She already tried, didn’t work. It seems that the creature's mind has been wiped clean. It no longer has the memories of Alpha and Omega. They don’t have anything for her power to hone in on. When she tried to push her power she was pushed out of the reading by their intense power. They are simply too powerful. We’ll try some other things, but the best we can do is prepare for the day when they finally are separated. Though, this battle may be a forever battle.”
Forever? What a terrible fate.
“At least Fate’s prediction for me didn’t come true.”
“What did she show you?” questions Ghyia.
“In my vision, I died by Cain’s hand. I thought for sure I was going to meet Cain and die in this battle. Then sure enough Cain arrived. I knew this was going to be my chance to change my fate, but now I’m confused. Nothing in my vision unfolded the same way in the battle. Does this mean that I already changed my fate, or has my future yet to come to pass?”

Ghiya places a consoling hand on Cole’s shoulder, “My boy, this is just the first chapter in your new life. The actual story remains to be experienced in the future. We still have work to do in this cosmic battle. We still have to confront the evil plots of Cain and the Black Prophet. We will rescue Shado. We will continue to raise our vibrational frequency reviving more Ultrasapiens. As long as we still have the will, we will bring everyone back, Dimitri back. Then together we’ll ascend to our destiny, to the stars.”

Luck Lockyer
Luck Lockyer was the type of man to smirk in the dark, the expression not for anyone but himself. One of perpetual amusement. The bright side of things were hard to find in the shade yet his amber eyes were always searching. The smirk was his default, he knew it, his friends knew it, his family knew it. It was his most natural state. But the death of everyone close to you can affect a downwards curve on the mouths of even the most stoic people. Without purpose, without anyone to do the job for, Luck Lockyer found himself inside an empty forgotten church. The perpetual smirk on his face had slipped to a thin line, his scar more noticeable now than ever before. His amber eyes, the windows to his soul, dull and lifeless. To anyone who knew him, it was the clothing that gave away his mental state, denim pants and a plain black t-shirt. If that wasn't enough, the tears running down his face certainly would, the echoing sobs of a broken man rang across the rundown church. It was on a whim, but Luck Lockyer prayed, he prayed for many things, for death, revenge, friends, but the one prayer dominating his thoughts, a second chance for his family. That was all he wanted. Simple. It was then, on the outskirts of a polluted city, in an abondoned lot, in a forgotten church that Luck Lockyer, the Devil of the Cards, the Bloodless Hand, the Amber Demon, the Broken, was answered by a being from another world and one from his. *found the picture online
