《After Life》Chapter 24.8: The Storm

The attack happened so fast Cole didn’t know what hit him. Sariph had teleported between Cain and Cole, slashing them in an instant. Both of them instinctively lessened the blow with wind shields, but still the attack got through. Cole was flung backwards into the blood soaked mud. He would be gasping If he didn’t have the wind knocked out of him. A huge slice traversing up his leg to his shoulder had been taken out of him.
Cole struggles to get his hand into his pocket. Finally he clasps his remaining healing crystal. Just like in his fight with Death, his skin aggressively stretches across his chest to reattach itself. He jumps up realizing he’s already spent too much time on the ground. His vision is hazy, still recovering from the hit. Luckily it seems the demon only came in long enough to stop the creators of the storm or else Cole would already be dead. Sariph has already jumped back into the heated battle with Growler.
How are we supposed to stop that thing? With each hit Growler is shrinking. It must take a massive amount of energy to continue moving a body so large. At this rate we’re done for. Even with our combined powers we couldn’t stop it!
Cole wonders if he should share his healing crystal with Cain. For without his help this battle is over. He looks around expecting to find an injured doppelganger stuck in the mud, but he can’t find him. For a moment he struggles through the slick ground, spinning, quickly realizing that Cain is gone.
Did the demon eat him? Or did he escape?!
Sure enough as Cole watches the super giants battle unfold, Growler is shrinking rapidly. He’s starting to lose. His movements are becoming faster, but each hit is becoming softer. As Growler decreases he continues to throw chunks of mountain terrain until there’s nothing left to throw. What’s left is a giant, bloody, naked man growling at the demon. Sariph on the other hand is showing no sign of slowing down. His structure has become so spiky that he appears to be related to a thorny devil lizard.

Cole’s hope crashes before his eyes. He buckles to his knees sloshing in the blood soaked mud. Shado teleports next to Cole as if he sensed he needed consoling. He pulls him out of the mud pit speaking to him, “Can you believe it?! Blood rain! This is disgusting!”
Cole replies but can’t share the same enthusiasm, “I don’t know where Cain went. Did the demon eat him?!”
“I don’t know. The attack was too fast. I didn’t see what happened.”
Cole replies with a defeated tone, “Is it over then? This is it? The mountain, he’s losing size. He can’t compete anymore!”
Shado replies with excitement in his voice, “Well, I have an idea. It’s dangerous… Look how thick the clouds are. I’ve never seen anything like it! This is literally the biggest shadow I’ve ever seen! I mean just look at it!”
“I hope you’re not thinking what I think you are!”
Shado pulls his skull mask over his face before replying to Cole, “How do you think I’ve survived this long? I know how to run!”
Shado pulls out his favorite poison infused combat knives, then does a running jump into the air. He surprises Cole when he teleports mid air. He didn’t even need to land on a shadow before completing the jump. Shado lands directly in front of Sariph taunting, “Pick on someone your own size, you aborted freak of nature!”

Eleknar's Heir, The Infernal Prince (Demonic LitRPG)
A LitRPG and Epic Fantasy adventure: The son of a mafia boss finds himself abruptly plunged into an alternate world where he must find a way to survive the horrors of a realm called Oblivion, make pacts with demons, form unnatural friendships, and figure out what the hell is going on – all while dealing with the depressing reality of his past. An artificial intelligence has ascended into godhood and has thrown Trey’s home into Chaos, pulling millions of people into an enchanted new life... or, in Trey's case, a violent nightmare. As far as he can tell, he is locked into what the system prompts call a ‘Death Game.’ Here, artificial reality is manufactured for the enjoyment of a being called the All Spirit, and he has a very real chance of truly dying. Just how real is this place though? Is it merely a simulation, a realistic game of life and death… or is it something much more? Elves, dwarves, undead, and other races only thought to exist in fairy tales are now a reality. Black magics, pantheons of gods at odds with one another, predatory symbiotes, and an unholy calling, the significance of which he has yet to grasp, are all entangled with his fate. ============================================ ============================================ Some things to expect when reading this book series: - Brutal storyline where no character is safe and choices have real consequences. Heavy on action, survival, and adventure - An isekai. The main character struggles to find himself, repeatedly crossing the line between good and evil as other important characters influence his life - Harem (explicit), though this only starts about 180k words in. - Good amounts of crafting, town building, and guild building later on - Good amounts of fantasy-related LitRPG stats, rank ups, and evolutions. Heavy focus on demons and black magics - There will be many points of view, but there is only one primary/main character that takes up 90% of the POV - A long storyline. Currently (as of 7/26/2021) I have about 1500k words written, though much of it will have to be heavily edited and re-written. I also plan to go far beyond 1500k words if people like the story (A lot of it is also in the 'backstories' book that explores the guildmates, the link is below) - Chapters will have an average of about 4k-5k words, a little longer than most other books on RR, though there will be exceptions for more and less. I just didn't like posting chapters that didn't feel complete, and 2k words often felt like too little. - If you like super-heroic and goody-goody characters, this story is not for you. ***Updated once a week***

Wanderer: Life in a New World
After losing his life to lung cancer, Hugh Carters, is sent to an odd room where he meets a well-trimmed man claiming to be God, or rather the God of his world. After being told his life story back to him and being reminded some painful details, he is told that due to his livelihood and his greed he was picked to become a Wanderer. A Wanderer is a reincarnated soul that gets sent to a different world to make a better life than the one he originally had. The reason why Hugh became a wonderer was because his life was too short in his eyes to fit his ambitions and his marriage never came to fruition, so when given the option to start from the beginning he accepted. The world he chose was one where various sentient races coexist and the Gods, or rather Vitans, interact with the lower realms. It's a world with magic, a large variety of unique creatures, and a chance to give Hugh everything he couldn't get in his previous life. When he was reincarnated he became Lucien Mercelious and his new life began.
