《Mountain's folly》35. Re-connection

"Speak"
He could do with being a little bit less rude. I had gotten back into contact with him far faster than any of us could have expected.
"A lot has happened, my Prime. I have infiltrated the sect successfully."
The titanic pressure magnified as it bore down onto me.
"Good, good. You haven't aroused anyone's suspicions with your rapid growth?"
"No, my Prime, I have been taken as the chief disciple of a grand elder. All evidence of my growth can be easily attributed to that."
"That's impossible. The note said the Towering Mountain Sect was taking you in under a basic elder. I do not appreciate people who lie to me. You should know that better than anyone else."
"I am not lying, my Prime. The grand elder noticed me and my constitution by chance. A constitution that was perfectly suitable for his incredibly deviant cultivation technique."
"Another demonic cultivator managed to rise the ranks that high in the Towering Mountain Sect? How was that possible."
I flared my newfound power, the energy coalescing around the bond I had with the Prime. His astral form recoiled from the sickening energy.
"What in the grand nethers is that?"
"Energy from another dimension, his technique follows the principles of the demonic teachings, but with a widely different foundation and outcome. We do not bond with a great demon or an Archlord. We use our cores as anchoring points to another dimension."
The Prime's presence came closer once again. For the first time, he truly took in my form and the power surrounding it.
"What have you done to yourself? You have no idea where that path will take you. It could lead to ruin. Now that you are once again connected to my soul, it could result in both our deaths."

This was what I was worried about. The Prime wouldn't see it as the opportunity it truly was. All he saw were the negative repercussions on himself, for a gambit that should have had minimal risk, suddenly holding his life and soul in the balance. He needed to learn to trust himself.
"Prime, I would not have engaged the connection if I had thought it would have led to long term damage for either of us. The cultivation path was forced upon me. Nevertheless, I believe it is a safe path."
He stewed in silence for a few seconds. His soul once again inspecting the relationship between me and the dimensional energy.
The energy naturally shied away from him. It was more than happy to mess around with my weaker soul space, but coming up against something, it couldn't pull its weight around made it very scared.
"We can seal it. Prime no matter what happens, until I reach the nascent soul stage myself and the energy reaches the same level, we will always have the option to seal it off. Until then, allow me to inflict as much damage as I can on the Towering Mountain Sect. That way, we can make your grandfather truly proud."
"He's our grandfather, remember. I know you better than you know yourself. There is no need for the platitudes to try and please me. Such things are useless and waste time."
I had to remember he would always be one step ahead of me. The processing speed of a nascent soul made a core formation look like a child. Anything I could think of, he had already taken to its fullest potential.
"So what is the plan now, what are your thoughts on the best way we can combine our efforts to inflict maximum damage on the Towering Mountain Sect."

"I have been out of the loop for the past few weeks. My recovery has not been quick. Even this conversation is taking its toll. We will proceed cautiously for the next few months. Reach Golden core, and then we can make some proper plans to cause chaos."
"I am the chief disciple of the grand elder. that alone makes me more than capable of causing chaos."
"We must proceed with caution. There is little point for you to make needless enemies without having the strength to back yourself up. Your master will only be able to go so far."
I found it hard to believe that the Prime was so timid. The soul damage must have changed him quite a bit. He would have never missed out on a chance to cause chaos, no matter the risk.
I agreed that I should wait until I reached the golden core stage to cause any considerable amount of destruction. That shouldn't stop me from making some waves in the sect.
"I understand your impatience. This opportunity is like nothing we had ever expected. I will talk with grandfather. He will have a better idea of how to move forward. My intel on the Towering Mountain sect would not be up to par."
With that, I felt the titanic soul force begin to move away. I was left alone once more.
The feeling of my prime being so close had felt so right. His absence now was almost crushing. I would have to grow far more powerful for that soul longing to disappear.
I still had to consolidate the power within me.
The energy was still moving beyond my control. I hadn't been frank with the Prime about my energy. I needed to explore the possibilities far more before we just shut it down.
The potential the cultivation method had was plain to see. Grand elder Leo was a feared member of the Towering Mountain Sect amongst the other elders. I had never heard of him, but I cared little for gathering information on the sect members who had retreated from the limelight to focus on progressing to Infant Transformation.
That would be my ultimate goal.
For now, I would cause some havoc in any other way I could.
I had mastered many arts. The boundaries and ethics of the righteous cultivators weren't a factor in my education. Allowing a much broader and richer understanding.
I felt it was time to start using them.

Ph. D. In Sorcery
Follow Anastasia, the unlucky physicist turned wizard, as her reality gets turned upside down and she is plunged into a world of gods, magic, swords, and adventure. Short and sweet description, anything more would be a spoiler and I detest those. Now, what you can expect from reading: This is my first time writing, or better said allowing someone else to read that mess so don’t raise your expectations too much. Still, I will try to keep the story flowing, while also devoting as much time as I can to editing. In my opinion, the story is written at a faster pace than normal with time skips here and there. I will do my best to not allow the faster pace to ruin the story by using those time skips to raise the skill of the main character. I am mainly looking for feedback while I test myself in new and unexplored waters. I did put a lot of thought into worldbuilding and the magic system, it is something that has been mulling inside my head for years before I sat down to write anything down. First and foremost I am an engineer and not a writer. I will try to do my utmost to make the world logical and consistent, but sometimes I might not express that in a way that’s clearly understood. I have a rough outline with several possible endings, but the story will change and evolve as I do. But in case I have to stop for whatever reason, the story will get an ending. It will be done even if I have to send coded messages from a bunker. I am a big fan of the Dresden Files so you can be certain that everything mentioned will in most cases be used, with a few red herrings sprinkled in the mix. But that also means I will enjoy putting the main character through the meat grinder while I eat popcorn and laugh from my evil lair. Physics, and to be more precise electromagnetism, quantum field theory, general and special relativity are very interesting topics for me that I research in my spare time. That means that the premise of the story will be using that research to bring logic to magic. Stupid I know, magic is magic, but to me, there is no reason why there shouldn’t be a concrete set of rules there. But it is still magic and that allows me to play with some things that shouldn’t normally be possible. I will focus on evolving the main character and having her react as anyone normal would, from my perspective. There will be scenes of battle, gore, and sexy times, but I will not go into too many details, counting on your imagination to fill the gaps. There will be plenty of combat, even battles ranging from a few dozen, a hundred, and thousands of participants. I could go on but there isn’t much to say that would convince anyone to read, either you thought the title was cool or you liked the poster. Or not, but after several days in photoshop, that’s the best I could do. And the title was originally Sorceress with a Ph.D. The new one makes a little less sense but I like the ring of it more for some reason. I just hope someone enjoys what I write as much as I do. In the end that is the reason, I am doing this, because I enjoy putting my thoughts on paper and seeing the outcome. Credit for the art: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/e0o8nw

Pillars Between Us
It started with the dent left by the Forest Sprite; A small crack in the ice that encased his memories. Curtis knew that something was off, realizing that he wasn’t who he thought he was and— perhaps Ellis wasn’t the one meant for him. --It's a fantasy novel set in a world where people inhabit on pillars-- (think of m*necaft sky block, you'll get what I mean) -- then give it a hint of action, mystery and (twisted) romance-- and it's influenced by Japanese fantasy light novels (cuz I read a lot of em'). But I'm sure it's a weird one cuz the style of writing isn't the Japanese to English translated kind of style but rather the orthodox English novel kind of writing (which includes a bunch of errors and broken English thanks to me!). In any case, if you're up for it, just beware the story starts out pretty slow.. I mean-- back then, I was still inexperienced ok! I'm gettin' better along the way, Hmmph!
