《The One and Only》C41. Mistaking the Time

The Blood Dragon Horse ran breathtakingly fast.
Only in a short time, they faded away into the distance like a red bolt.
The warriors of the Yuns, firstly being heavily wounded by the Flowing Shadow of Reflective Light, then being trod by the horse, suffered the most severe torture that was almost unbearable for people to see.
Whoosh!
Tong Hu, landing on the roof of the attic nearby slowly, stared at the defeated warriors in surprise.
“Geeze, that boy is actually faster than me.”
Upon hearing that the warriors of the Yun family intended to catch Lin Yun, he immediately set off to save him, hoping to help him out of the city.
To his surprise, Lin Yun had already got through the close siege and disappeared without a trace.
“He is worthy of the Heaven Rooted Elixir I made an exception to sell. He is really talented in martial arts.” Tong Hu, with the barest hint of a smile on his face, whispered.
Suddenly, a plume of red smoke appeared in the sky above the White Water City, following which were fireworks forming the emblem of the Yuns.
All warriors in the city were set in motion afterwards.
“They react really fast. I hope he can return to the Sect safely.” Tong Hu said in low-pitched voice while watching the fireworks.
He had no idea Lin Yun had snatched the Blooded Dragon Horse from his enemies.
With the assistance of the aggressive magical beast with the cultivation of the seventh level, Lin Yun, seemingly flying swiftly on the ground, had already got out of the city when the fireworks appeared.
After spending two days and nights in rushing on the horseback, Lin Yun let out a sigh in relief when the gate of the Qingyun Sect was dimly visible.
“Let’s have a rest.”
Lin Yun’s bottom hurt severely, almost torn into pieces, while the Blooded Dragon Horse was still so energetic and vigorous that no sign of weariness could be spotted on it. What an excellent horse!
It didn’t need to rest, but Lin Yun must refresh himself.
“The next combat will begin tomorrow.”
Lost in thought, Lin Yun didn’t pay much attention to the twists and turns in the White Water City.
He was concentrating on the midterm exam, the combat with Zhou Yun.
If he lost...
He might well be killed by Zhou Yun, given that guy’s disposition.

Who could save him? Su Ziyao?
No way!
Lin Yun still remembered that day at the Trigger Hall when he was deeply hurt by Su Ziyao’s condescension. If she saved his life in the combat, Lin Yun would surely be derided by all the fellow apprentices in the Sect.
Other people’s attitudes were meaningless to Lin Yun, but somehow, he didn’t want to be made light of by Su Ziyao.
His pride didn’t allow him to take others’ charity in obsequiousness.
“I am the master of my own destiny.”
Lin Yun’s bright eyes were filled with resoluteness in the dark night.
He took out the ten average spiritual stones without hesitation.
An average spiritual stone, which could only be exchanged with 1000 inferior spiritual stones, contained pure and strong nimbus.
Holding two of them in his palm, Lin Yun, crossing his legs and closing his eyes, made the Pure Yang Script rotate slowly with the fierce inner force in his body.
Boom!
The enormous nimbus poured into his body like roaring waters from the spiritual stones, which happened naturally without any turbulence.
His Pure Yang Script, having reached bottleneck earlier, was upgraded to the fourth level from the third in such a short time.
It was still rotating in Lin Yun’s body.
Given the high price of the average spiritual stones, Lin Yun wanted more than this.
He intended to break through the next five levels and achieve the Ultimate Perfection.
Resources, rather than skill or talents, played an important role in practicing the Pure Yang Script!
The more resources he collected, the faster he learned.
The Pure Yang Script was initially produced within Lin Yun’s body with the assistance of the heaven rooted treasures. He achieved the second level with the help of Blood Cultivating Elixirs.
And now, he owed it to the ten average spiritual stones.
One hour had passed. Two spirit stones had been used up.
Lin Yun got the other two by stretching out his hand.
The Pure Yang Script at its fifth level absorbed the strong nimbus greedily like a thirsty raging beast. Lin Yun could feel the fierce inner power rotating continuously in his body.
Under Lin Yun’s control, the nimbus not only nurtured his body but also forged his organs.
Lin Yun seized the opportunity and swallowed the Heart Cultivation Elixir without hesitation.
Its powerful effect, mixed with the nimbus of the spiritual stones, permeated into his heart gradually.

Bang! Bang! Bang!
With a violent heartbeat, Lin Yun’s heart, which was much more vigorous than before, was able to provide more blood and nutriments to the other organs.
His long hair, fluttering in the wind, also became dazzling and smooth.
Lin Yun, bursting with energy and vitality, emitted a compelling aura.
His martial skills had gained an advance by leaps and bounds.
To Lin Yun’s astonishment, the Heart Cultivation Elixir and the Pure Yang Script were supplementary to each other, greatly promoting his cultivation and martial skills at the same time.
When the nimbus of the ten average spiritual stones wore out, a streak of red light suddenly appeared around Lin Yun, who was concentrating on the practice by crossing his legs, as if burning flames in the dark.
Lin Yun opened his eyes filled with strength and sparkling light.
With the help of the ten average spiritual stones, as well as the Heart Cultivation Elixir, Lin Yun finally achieved the Ultimate Perfection.
He could feel the energy rolling wildly within his body when he circulated his inner force.
Only by tightening the muscles of his fingers with the inner force, a streak of red light would appear in his palm, as if a burning flame at first sight.
Lin Yun knew it clearly that there would be some anomalies when the Ultimate Perfection was achieved.
Just as in the combat between the young master of the Qingyun Sect and Liu Suifeng, whose index turned jade like a colored glaze when performing the Ziyun Script.
Few apprentices in the Qingyun Sect would practice the Pure Yang Script, which was nearly as powerful as the Ziyun Script, because the progress must be made through the consumption of resources.
Bang!
After the sword was unsheathed, Lin Yun’s inner force gushed inwards, making it glisten in the dark.
“It’s really a great sword. My inner force can flow into it smoothly.”
Lin Yun gasped in admiration.
Generally speaking, the inner forces would disperse a great deal when transformed into the ordinary weapon, while the Flower Buried Sword not only stopped the unnecessary waste, but also slightly enhanced Lin Yun’s inner force.
With the Pure Yang Script at the Ultimate Perfection, Lin Yun’s inner force was almost as powerful as that of Zhou Yun, a top warrior with the cultivation at the seventh level.
However, his martial art was still at the top of the sixth stage. The Pure Yang Script at the Final Perfection didn’t promote Lin Yun’s cultivation base.
“Never mind! There will always be setbacks in our lives.”
Lin Yun sighed after sheathing the sword.
The Blooded Dragon Horse had disappeared without a trace when Lin Yun turned around.
He was found biting another magical beast as a result!
Lin Yun was a little surprised at its vicious look and evil aura.
What an aggressive horse!
This savage beast was only an ordinary animal to fill his stomach.
Raised by the Yuns, the horse must have hurt a lot of people under the guidance of that young ruffian.
No wonder his evil aura was that strong.
“Let’s go.”
Feeling reluctant to bother with that horse, Lin Yun leaped onto the horseback swiftly.
With its back pressed lightly by Lin Yun’s powerful palm, the horse was tamed at once.
Clip-clop! Clip-clop!
The rushing horse looked like a stretching line drawn by blood.
Lin Yun got off the horse before the gate.
“Senior Lin, how come you arrive so late? The second turn of the midterm exam is starting soon!” The guard at the gate said in surprise at the sight of Lin Yun.
“What!”
Lin Yun was stupefied.
Did he mistake the time?
After the breakthrough in his cultivation, it only took him half a day to get to the Sect on the horseback. The exam would start tomorrow.
He should have enough time for preparation.
“Hurry up, Senior Lin, or you’ll be disqualified.”
Given the concerned expression on their faces, what they said was highly likely the truth.
Damn!
So it is.
It dawned on Lin Yun that he had spent a day and night on cultivation. Seeing the daylight, Lin Yun wrongly thought he had merely spent one night.
“Thank you so much. Charge!”
Without enough time for explanation, Lin Yun rode onto the horseback and dashed forward.
When the two apprentices turned back, Lin Yun had already disappeared into the distance.
“Geeze, the horse is so fast!”
They couldn’t help letting out a cry of astonishment. Next chapter -> On The Contest Field

The Stars Have Eyes
The universe was a vast, empty, dark, and uncaring place. Then life happened, and the universe was changed forever. Only a teeny-tiny bit, but definitely different. Then again, the universe changes a teeny-tiny bit every second of every day. For instance, if someone were to get off the couch and randomly drink a glass of milk? Bam! One less glass of milk in the universe. Changed forever. Well, excluding any time-travel shenanigans, but anyone who puts a big old hole in the time-space continuum just to un-drink a glass of milk should really reevaluate their priorities. Unless, of course, they were attempting to prevent some massive catastrophe vis-a-vis said glass of milk. Such a scenario is by no means impossible, as one should never underestimate the importance of calcium. Another important tip for any life forms out there is to keep things in perspective. Some look at the vastness of creation in relation to themselves and go, ‘Man, this sucks!’ These people really need to narrow their focus. Sure, they will never affect anything happening on the other end of the galaxy, but so what? That’s way the heck over there, where it doesn’t matter. Therefore, in order to maintain a healthy mindset, it is important to narrow one’s perspective to the things and people that affect them, and that they can affect in turn. But what happens if one is an unfathomable cosmic being from beyond the veil of reality? What happens when such an existence is capable of influencing entire swathes of the universe just by its presence? A creature such as Magh'rathlak the Observer? That particular entity is only about average as far as reality-warping creatures from the dawn of time go, so its influence over the fabric of reality is rather limited. And it still struggles to keep things in perspective. That, among other things, is why it decided to narrow its worldview a bit by compressing the maddening vastness of its being into a single corporeal form. Magh'rathlak had never tried such a feat, but that wasn't about to stop it. After all, how hard could being human possibly be?

Blind As a Bat [1st book complete]
Book 1 He was cast to the edges of his clan. His father could not stand to even look at him. His baby sister probably didn't even know he was her brother... All because he, unlike all other vampire (The correct terminology will be Wanpyrkos; van-peer-coe-s) kind, was born blind. And what do all creatures do to those that are different, those that do not fit society, those that they think should not have been born to this civilized society...? [Book Cover Made by the wonderful THEMIDNIGHTECLIPSE13] - thank you! I'm only introducing the perspective of the main character for the first part. Things change drastically soon after that. [BDSM entries are clearly marked and written so they can be skipped without affecting the story] ***A couple scenes to whet your palate*** 1. "Uh, we heal from pretty much everything and anything. Have you ever tried physically damaging your eyes to see if they would fully heal?" "N-no. No, it doesn't work," I forced out, my voice a little strangled and cracking before hardening. "And stuff like that, isn't that just wrong?! Hurting someone just to 'fix' them." 2. I leaned and he met me, our soft lips touching and moving perfectly on each other's. I felt as his tongue ran the slit of my lips, my tongue coming to graze it as it passed over, knowing doing so was like catnip to him. He leaned closer, and I shivered as his hands ran from low on my hips and grazed along and up my ribs, pulling my chest closer to his so my body arched and rubbed against him. I hummed in appreciation. [warning: so far aggressive or physical bullying and maybe a little kidnappage and sexual themes as well as possible trigger warnings]
